Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 242: Ch 241: The Dragon’s March
’Who is this lady? She smells like bad news! I better get her out of here, and fast-’
Before the sister could make her move, the lady who walked in gave a small bow to show that she was not a threat. Her manner was calm yet noble, immediately causing everyone to look at her.
"Hey, fool! Who are you? You better tell me your name and your purpose for coming here before I pulverize you."
Her foolish brother yelled, not liking the fact that someone else had stepped into his territory. He was finally acting like a proper ruler for the first time.
But the lady standing in front of them did not react to that threat. If anything, she showed even more respect by bowing deeper.
"Please accept my humble greetings, dear Dragon Lord. I, your humble servant, am here with a simple request that only you can fulfill. Would you grace me with this favor?"
The lady bowing was incredibly polite. It was clear that she was planning something, and the smart thing to do here would be to tell her "no."
But her foolish brother was weak to praise, and he did not like to use his mind beyond what was necessary. Moreover, he was prideful and liked to be admired.
The stranger was ticking all his boxes, so it was obvious her brother would fall for her ploy and tell her to speak more.
"Hmm, it seems like you know about my greatness! Tell me what you want, human! You have pleased me, and I would like to at least hear your request."
The foolish dragon sovereign was letting the human know how pleased he was, and that made the female even bolder. She raised her head, but her features were not clearly visible to anyone else.
It was clear that she had used some kind of magic to obscure her face. But a dragon’s vision was special, and it should have been able to see through any magic.
’This is not good. The fact that this woman can hide her face from us means that she is incredibly powerful. Such a person should not need our help at all. But she is still here...’
That meant her presence here was a trap, and she immediately needed to tell her foolish brother. So she stepped forward and spoke before her brother could make a foolish promise.
"You wish to make use of the Dragon Sovereign with merely words offered in return? Know your place."
Her roar reminded her brother that he was a sovereign, and since he was easily manipulated, he got angry as well.
"My sister is right. Mere words are not enough to sway me, human! I no longer want to see you. So head back out before I break every bone in your body."
Finally, her foolish brother made a smart decision, and the sister looked at the human magician, who stood still. Her posture did not change, but she looked much less tense now compared to a few seconds ago.
Sigh
"It seems like getting help here is not in my fate. But I will try again. I believe in the Dragon Sovereign and his power, so please do give me another audience next time. I promise I will bring you a gift you would like."
With that, the woman left, but the sister was not satisfied. She had a feeling the human was still up to something, so she slowly followed her outside.
Magic concealed the dragon sister, so she was sure she would not be found. But the human paused and looked directly at her.
"Hmm, it seems like I have a dragon-shaped rat following me. What should I do now?"
The human asked, and the female dragon stiffened at her words. She had a bad feeling that made her want to turn around and run away. But she had nowhere left to run.
Corruption blocked her path, and the magic mixed with it made her skin crawl.
"Aww, looks like we have a big fish here. I guess I will be having dragon meat today after all."
The human spoke in a soft voice. But the way she controlled the corruption was not human. Whatever the thing in front of the dragon’s eyes was, it was not human.
’I need to get away as fast as possible.’
The corrupted binds were digging into her skin, but the dragon refused to give up. She was going to fight until the bitter end.
"There is no point in fighting against these binds. You won’t be able to break free."
The human spoke, but the dragon was not willing to give up.
She could feel corruption seeping inside her body and mixing with her magic. It forced her to react, and she finally broke the binds after sacrificing half of her magic.
She needed to go back and warn everyone about what was happening. But her body had no strength left.
Halfway there, she collapsed, and the corruption caused her form to shrink down to pup-size, meaning it was a curse she was under.
The female dragon knew she was likely not going to survive. But she was going to live long enough to send her brother a message. Hopefully, he would mature because of this and take the situation more seriously.
As she struggled, she felt someone’s holy magic wash over her, and that made her relax and snuggle against their hold.
"Teacher, it seems like we have a problem."
Someone was holding her and moving her. It hurt, but the female dragon did not mind. She was slowly starting to feel better as well.
"Tsk, it looks like the wound is deep, and it has started to corrupt her body. Seraphina, we will need to do a lot to stabilize her. Let’s get ready."
And just like that, the female dragon’s death was avoided.
...
"Tsk, she managed to get away. Oh well, she won’t be able to go far with those wounds. Now, should I prepare a gift for the Dragon Lord?"
Lumi asked while looking behind her. She already had everything planned. Now she just needed to execute it.
