Raising Yanderes to save the world
Chapter 376: Make the World fall Silent - Part 1
“Should we head home now? I suddenly feel like I should check up on Kael and see if he is alright.”
Seraphina was the first person to voice her concerns, and the others nodded soon after.
“You are right. I have a feeling that Kael might be in trouble as well. With the way that bitch lost control, no one feels safe.”
Lyra agreed and started to walk outside the building. But the second they stepped beyond the building’s barrier, a huge wave of magic slammed into them.
“What is happening? This feeling…”
Iris complained as she staggered on her feet and tried her best to regain control of herself. And then she looked up and saw the red, bleeding moon in the sky.
“What the hell? When did it become nighttime? And what is falling from the sky? This is—”
Elena started to speak, but her instincts immediately made her put up a barrier just in time to defend herself against an attack from a civilian.
And she was not the only one. The others around them were starting to lose their minds and act like zombies.
There were a few people who resisted this change, but they were too weak to survive the waves of magic that were clashing around them.
“What the hell? This looks like the end of the world.”
Iris complained in a steady voice, but uncertainty was creeping into it as well. After all, even she had no way to determine what was happening.
But even amid all this chaos, Seraphina had only one goal in her mind.
“We need to get to Kael, and fast. I have a feeling he is involved in what is happening. Both he and the dungeon core.”
She could feel the familiar energy of a god coursing through the world. It was pure but twisted at the same time. She could even sense resentment within it, and it made her body ache.
It was as if this energy was trying to take revenge on someone or something. But who or what could it be?
And more importantly—why?
These were important questions, but the answers to them likely lay with Kael.
…
Kael felt as though his body was floating in a sea of mana. But this was no ordinary mana. All this concentrated mana around him belonged to one person…
Or rather, one entity—the god of this world.
And he was not the only one drowning in this mana. There were other humans as well.
But unlike him, the others had already lost their minds and were attacking whatever they could in an attempt to get rid of the magic within them.
“It seems like the burden of these memories was too much for these kids to handle. A god’s emotions sure are burdensome.”
Kael was not sure why he was not as affected by these emotions despite having taken in more cores and more of this god’s power. But he had a feeling that it was because he was from another world.
But what was clear to him were the god’s memories that were driving these humans apart.
This god had been slain by a human when he went to the celestial world where the gods gathered. Kael saw a giant massacre in his dream, all caused by the hands of an unremarkable human wielding extreme power.
And that power carried fragments of the ‘true origin’, making it a supreme power.
Both power and rage threatened to consume Kael when the moment of this god’s fall filled his mind.
It was an intense emotion that fuelled revenge and hatred. Not only towards this world, but towards every world beyond it.
The resentful magic wanted to turn this world into a disaster and then use it against the other worlds that had betrayed it. The fates themselves were going to suffer, and—
“Darn it! I will not… fall here… this is…”
This was different from Goddess Aria’s circumstances. This time, the entire god’s system had fallen, leaving Kael and the others to suffer the consequences of what was happening.
But Kael was not going to fall here. He was going to stand up and survive this ordeal. He was going to put things back the way they were supposed to be.
The god’s power started to tug at his body, and he knew that there was no point in lingering around for much longer.
It was time to leave his body and continue as a spirit beyond this world.
So he closed his eyes and allowed his body to fall. His spirit was thrown out of his body, and he watched as his body stood up again and started walking.
The markings on its face indicated that it was no longer under his control.
But he could not stay here for much longer.
He decided to weave a message with his magic to surround his body and then use his magic to leave one final message behind for Leon and the others. He had a feeling they would be able to decode it.
“If things work out well, then I will return soon. And if not…”
Then there was a chance that he might never return. But it was a risk he had to take at any cost. There was no point in staying here anymore, either way.
Kael felt sorry for Lyra, who might be abandoned even after he had accepted her feelings. But he knew that she would understand.
Rather, she had to understand because she was a queen, and she knew that there were times when one needed to act in the interests of the people rather than prioritise personal feelings.
“Ugh, I have wasted enough time being sentimental. It’s time to seal this god. I hope my soul remains intact until the end.”
He whispered and pushed forward. He was going to challenge a god’s power. And this time, it would be a god who had every intention of killing him. There would likely be no mercy shown to him because of this.
“Let’s do this.”
