Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 383: The Final Gamble - Part 2

Seraphina, Iris, and Lyra managed to activate the spell, and the enormous amount of magic surrounding them suddenly erupted.

For a brief moment, none of them could see anything as the light swallowed their bodies completely.

The sensation of being pulled apart and reconstructed was something Seraphina had experienced before, but this time, there was something different about the spell.

Instead of feeling themselves being transported toward Goddess Aria, they felt as though they had been thrown into an endless void.

When the light finally disappeared, the three of them found themselves standing in a completely empty domain.

There was nothing around them. No sky, no ground that they could properly recognise, and no sign of Goddess Aria anywhere in sight.

The entire domain seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction, with a strange white mist covering the distant surroundings.

“What is this place?”

Iris asked as she looked around in confusion.

She had expected to arrive directly in front of Goddess Aria, but instead, they had somehow arrived in a place that felt completely disconnected from the world they had just left behind.

At least Elena had not been pulled in, which was a relief. But still… had the spell backfired somehow?

Lyra remained silent for a moment before looking ahead.

“There are doors. Should we go and check them out?”

She pointed toward the distance. She could see that far because of her enhanced vision. Her being a demon queen came in handy at times like these.

Three doors stood in the middle of the empty domain, each one separated from the others by a considerable distance. They were the only things that existed within this strange place, making their presence even more suspicious.

Seraphina narrowed her eyes as she looked at them. There was something written on each door.

“Those are…”

Her expression changed when she realised that there were symbols engraved on the doors.

She had no idea what those symbols were, but she could instinctively know which ones were hers.

“Oi! I am not the only one losing my mind here, right? These symbols are calling out to us, right?”

Iris asked, immediately becoming wary. Her hand instinctively moved toward the weapon at her side as she stared at the three doors.

“It feels wrong to be looking at these doors.”

“I agree.”

Seraphina nodded slowly as she tried to make sense of the situation.

She could feel divine energy coming from the doors, but there was something unnatural about it. It was almost as if the domain itself had been prepared specifically for them.

Iris took a step backwards.

“This could be a trap. We were supposed to reach Goddess Aria, but instead, we have been brought here. Maybe someone expected us to activate that spell.”

Lyra stared at the door bearing her name.

She had the same feeling as Iris, but she could not deny her curiosity toward these doors either.

Everything about this place was suspicious, and yet she could not ignore the possibility that this was the only path left to them.

“If this is a trap, then it is a very deliberate one. But we don’t have a choice but to fall for it, right?”

Lyra finally said. Iris turned towards her with a resigned smile on her face.

“So you agree with me?”

“Yes.”

Lyra nodded before looking at the three doors again.

“But what else are we supposed to do? We cannot simply stand here and wait. Kael is still fighting whatever is controlling him, and Goddess Aria is somewhere beyond this place. If these doors are the only path forward, then we have no choice but to go through them.”

Iris clenched her fists at Seraphina’s words.

Looking at how there were only three doors, it likely served as a trail. And for now, it was in their best interest to open the door with their name on it and enter.

“On the count of three?”

Seraphina asked, and they all nodded.

“Alright. 1… 2… hey, Lyra, wait for us.”

The demon queen was impatient and ended up opening her door before the others. It caused the place to shake, and the other two were forced to follow her example.

As soon as Lyra disappeared, so did her door. And the same happened for the other two.

The only evidence of the doors remaining was the residual energy that was left behind.

Slowly, that energy formed a butterfly before it fluttered toward the end of the collapsing place.

It landed on top of Goddess Aria’s bound shoulder, and she let out a chuckle.

“So, you all have finally decided to seek me out? It took you long enough. So I am truly your last resort?”

She asked as her chains rattled. It was not a hold she could break on her own, nor was this a place she could leave on her own.

That was why she prepared those trials—as a way for her to gather enough energy to break free of her chains.

She already knew what was going on outside her prison. She was not blind, and as a goddess with soul fragments all over, she was the best person to check up on the outside world.

The end had finally come for them all. All the gods were finally laid to rest, and those who managed to survive were not in any condition to go back and take their revenge.

She had been spared death and left here all alone. And it was all because the god of this world was already dead.

But he had not died in vain. He managed to pull Kael onto this world, knowing fully well that it would bring her and her obsession here as well.

And if she was here, her obsession would find a way to save this world using her power.

“What a madman! He knew he was going to die, but instead of abandoning his world and leaving them to fend for themselves, he decided to try and ascend a new god with another god’s help? Let’s hope this gamble pays off for him.”
