RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 198: Breakthrough To Star Commander (Part 4)
"Disobedient children will have their bottoms spanked."
Upon hearing Victoria, William’s face stiffened slightly, and he immediately jumped away from her.
"Actually, dieting is not good for your health..." He said with a cough. "Please make something delicious for me."
Victoria nodded at William’s words and bowed slightly.
"Please wash up, My Lord. Dinner will be ready in half an hour."
After speaking, she turned around to leave the training ground.
As she was leaving, William looked at her and spoke in a hesitant voice.
"Uhh... Victoria, please use salt and sugar in moderation."
Victoria’s footsteps paused for a second before she continued to walk.
Seeing her leaving, William sighed in relief and walked toward the shower room of the training ground.
Around ten minutes later, he finished cleaning himself and returned to the dining room.
He sat down and leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on the crystal chandelier hanging above.
’The attitude of most of the nobles toward me has changed quite a lot in the last few days...’ William tapped his finger on the armrest. ’Now no one comes to shit-talk or mess with me for no reason. Even Kevin and the others are behaving a bit oddly.’
At first, William thought the change in their behavior was because of how he had beaten Edrin, and they did not want to experience the same thing.
But as the days passed, he realized the change in their behavior was just too big to be caused by his actions.
Only then did he realize that although Vivian hadn’t returned, she must have already sent a warning to all the noble houses.
After receiving the news, those noble houses must have informed their people to behave properly around him and not to mess with him for no reason.
’Although they informed their children not to mess with me, I think they did not tell them the reason behind it.’
William was sure that if Kevin and the other students knew he had married Vivian, some of them would have definitely come to ask him a few questions.
But nothing like that happened.
All those useless nobles simply stopped bothering him.
William was also very happy with this development, as this gave him enough time to focus on other matters.
During these seven days, he and Liam officially joined the student council and were performing their duties during academy hours.
William’s faction also made some progress during this time, and there were already over ten people who had joined it.
Of course, the number of people who applied to join was way over ten.
But after screening them, he only let ten people join so far.
It wasn’t that the other people who applied were not talented.
The Sun And Moon Academy was the best academy in the Silver Wing Kingdom, and everyone who could join it was a genius in their own way.
But the reason he didn’t let them join was because, through his Heart Devourer ability, which allowed him to sense the emotions of people, he could tell those people had only come to squeeze out some benefits.
They actually did not have any intention of joining and just wanted to see if they could get any benefits, like a cultivation technique or battle arts.
Once they got them, their plan was to immediately leave.
Although William didn’t expect them to be loyal to his faction from the beginning, he also didn’t want useless people who just came to squeeze out some benefits instead of thinking about how to work to earn those benefits.
Another thing that satisfied William during this time was that Brown and Sophia were among the ten people who joined the faction.
Since they were also his friends in the original timeline, he was naturally happy that they joined his faction.
’Now that a week has passed and I haven’t faced any retaliation from Edrin’s family, many more people who genuinely want to join the faction will start to apply.’ William thought and took a deep breath.
He looked inside his storage ring, and seeing many books of cultivation techniques and battle arts that he had written over the past few days, his lips arched upward.
’These cultivation techniques and battle arts should be enough to give all of them enough motivation to work hard.’
"My Lord, are you smiling because you are thinking about my food?"
Victoria’s voice pulled William out of his thoughts, and when he saw her bringing a pot of stew again, his heart skipped a beat.
Seeing his reaction, Victoria placed it in front of him and spoke calmly.
"Don’t worry, My Lord. I made it perfect this time."
"OH..." William nodded without saying anything and scooped out some into his bowl.
’It looks quite delicious...’ He thought as he took his first bite.
Tasting rich flavors exploding in his mouth instead of an overwhelming sweetness of sugar, William sighed in relief and finally relaxed.
"It’s delicious, Victoria. Thanks for your hard work."
Victoria nodded calmly at his words and didn’t show much reaction.
"By the way, do you know when Vivian is coming back?"
Victoria thought for a moment before replying, "She should return in a day or two."
William scooped out another bowl of stew and asked curiously.
"Do you know what she is doing?"
"I’m not sure, My Lord," Victoria shook her head. "She didn’t inform me where she was going when she left."
"Is that so..." William nodded and didn’t ask further.
He soon finished his dinner and stood up.
"I will be in the Spirit Gathering Room."
Victoria nodded and reminded him seriously.
"Be careful during your breakthrough, and if you encounter any problems, just call me."
William smiled upon hearing Victoria and nodded. "I will."
William returned to the training ground he was in earlier and walked to the Spirit Gathering Room at the end.
The Spirit Gathering Room was a room equipped with an Aether Energy gathering array that could increase the density of Aether Energy in the surroundings and was a suitable place for him to go through his breakthrough.
Soon, he entered the room and sat down, his eyes turning serious as he activated the array in the room, and the energy density around him began to increase.
