Chapter 600 - 232: The Sixth Game Ability Inheritance Begins

These creatures were more cunning than anything.

Originally, Shen Fei had assumed that this region of the Pacific Ocean was the "hometown" of the NPCs and bosses, a place they would guard fiercely. He had never expected that without him even showing his face, merely after he unleashed his power twice, these creatures would already be terrified into scattering in all directions. In an instant, the vast special region of the Pacific Ocean became completely empty. Except for various non-intelligent or low-intelligence aquatic flora and fauna, all the highly intelligent NPCs and bosses had, in one fell swoop, fled completely.

Where are they trying to run? To the special regions inside other countries? Into the sky above Blue Star, through the passages to other Game Worlds?

It was like punching cotton. Standing before the empty Neutral City, Shen Fei wondered where on earth these NPCs and bosses could have run off to. He knew very well that these NPCs and bosses had an ultimate goal. Therefore, these creatures would absolutely not leave so easily. Fleeing now was just a reaction to danger, a change of hiding places. In the future, after the so-called world-ending patch, they would absolutely reappear in a swarm.

"Prepare to head home! Have the people from the Tourism Management Office investigate where they went! I’m sure of it. With so many NPCs and bosses fleeing in a swarm, someone must have seen something!"

He didn’t inspect the deserted city any further, nor did he dwell on where the NPCs and bosses had fled. Since he couldn’t find them, Shen Fei didn’t force the issue. Besides, those guys would eventually show themselves again.

Right now, he’d been away from home for nearly seven days. It was time for him to head back. With the resources he’d previously provided and 100 Tenth-Tier Defense Towers protecting the Dragon Palace, there was no need to worry about its safety in the short term. He could now leave the Pacific Ocean’s special region with peace of mind.

"Okay!"

"Okay!"

Hearing Shen Fei, Number 0 and Xiaohong gave a crisp reply. Compared to seven days ago, the two of them were now Shen Fei’s women. Moreover, although they hadn’t used their real bodies, they had experienced Shen Fei’s passion and power. Now, as long as they returned to Qing City and announced the situation to the others, they could openly live together with Shen Fei. The two of them were very much looking forward to returning to human society.

"Hm?"

He had just made the decision to leave. Shen Fei never expected that, before he could even do anything, his personal panel suddenly swished open. Then, lines of text scrolled across it:

[Ding!]

[The seven-day cooldown has ended!]

[Game Ability Inheritance to Reality, the sixth item will now begin!]

[The sixth item for Game Ability Inheritance will begin in ten seconds. Please select a new item to inherit from the eight categories: Cultivation, Skills, Pets, Accessories, Equipment, Cities, Heroes, Other. Previously inherited items cannot be selected again! If no selection is made, one will be chosen at random.]

[Based on your total recharge amount, the selected item will be inherited all at once after a proportional reduction!]

[Ding!]

[The seventh Game Item Ability Inheritance will occur in seven days.]

As Shen Fei stared, dumbfounded, a stream of text scrolled directly onto his personal panel. The sixth Game Ability Inheritance! It was starting!

Shen Fei’s plan had been to return to Qing City to inherit his sixth game ability after exterminating the NPCs and bosses. But he never expected that those vigilant NPCs and bosses would actually flee. In the end, he had wasted too much time in the Pacific Ocean’s special region, thinking about and searching for the fleeing NPCs and bosses. Now, before he had even returned to Qing City, he was beginning his sixth Game Ability Inheritance right here, over the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Shen Fei had never anticipated a scene like this. This was the first time he had ever inherited a game ability out in the wild, away from his home in Qing City. He hadn’t even had a chance to think about which of the remaining items he should inherit.

At this point, the only categories Shen Fei had left were Heroes, Cities, and Other. He watched the selection countdown rapidly decrease. With no time to think, right before the timer ran out, Shen Fei shouted:

"City!"

Previously, I knew that Sky Control had gone through a passage connecting the game worlds to travel to other Game Worlds. Right now, I have no idea if Sky Control has safely returned to the Game World of Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms. I was worried that if I chose to inherit my Hero now, the Floating City, being piloted by Sky Control to another Game World, might be pulled down and stuck there. If that happened, my Floating City could be in trouble. Under these circumstances, the only thing I could do was to inherit the Floating City first. Then, I could let the intelligent Sky Control return to the Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms Game World on his own.

RUMBLE!

As Shen Fei’s decision was made, a violent roar suddenly echoed directly over their heads. Looking up, Shen Fei and the others saw a massive Floating Island slowly begin to take shape above them! Obviously, this was the "City" from Shen Fei’s sixth inheritance, beginning to manifest and materialize. As they all watched, the massive "Floating Island" from Shen Fei’s game, a full fifty kilometers in length and width, finally appeared completely. On top of the Floating Island, there were even manicured grasslands and pedestals for placing Defense Towers...

AROOO!

Shen Fei was gazing with satisfaction at the enormous Floating Island inherited from the game. Xiaohong and Number 0, on the other hand, were so excited their eyes had curved into crescents.

Just then, the already-inherited Black Tortoise beside Shen Fei suddenly threw its head back and roared at the sky. Then, while still roaring, its body began to rapidly expand, despite having no orders from Shen Fei and no battle to fight.

By the time the great shell on its back had grown as large as the dozens-of-kilometers-wide Floating Island above, the Black Tortoise shot into the air with a kick of its limbs. Then, as Shen Fei and the others watched, the Black Tortoise’s massive back, with a loud CLICK, "slotted" perfectly into place beneath the Floating Island. The size and posture were a perfect match! There was no awkwardness at all! Previously, in the Game World of Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms, the Black Tortoise had carried the Floating Island for a long time. Now, with the Floating Island also inherited into reality, that familiar, beloved sensation of carrying something returned to the Black Tortoise. It didn’t even need a command from Shen Fei. The Black Tortoise had obediently positioned itself right under the massive Floating Island. It had become a true Mountain-Carrying Divine Beast!

AROO!

As its back settled into place beneath the Floating Island, the Black Tortoise let out a roar, and the entire island shuddered three times.

"Let’s go up!" Shen Fei said, glancing over to see that Number 0 and Xiaohong had also finished absorbing the power from the sixth game inheritance. With a wave of his hand, he beckoned to them, and they flew up towards the Floating Island overhead, paying no mind to the swarm of creatures, both intelligent and not, that had just spawned on the previously empty sea as a consequence of the inheritance.

Now, the Floating Island is here. I can finally inspect it. Although the sixth game ability inheritance caused many avatars of the NPCs and bosses who had fled to be re-inherited into this sea region, prioritizing the inspection of the Floating Island is extremely important. For me, the appearance of my Floating Island means my Combat Power no longer has any restraints or limits. With my Floating Island here, I can summon all of my Defense Towers. I can summon every single Defense Tower I own and place them on the Floating Island. Then, I can have the Black Tortoise carry the Floating Island, keeping it by my side at all times to accept my commands and control. Furthermore, my "Wishful Size" skill can also easily transform the massive Floating Island above into any size I need. With the sixth game ability inheritance complete, the most important thing for me is that the limits on my Combat Power have vanished completely! However many Defense Towers I have, I can now summon them all!

Next, I need to hurry back to Qing City, challenge the Heaven-Reaching Tower, and upgrade all 1,500 of my Defense Towers to a high grade!

Shen Fei mused rapidly as he flew up toward the Floating Island.

"Huh?"

Then, he froze.

Once Shen Fei and his teammates flew above the Floating Island, his pupils widened dramatically when he saw that the situation was not at all what he’d expected.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

Beside him, Number 0 and Xiaohong saw the same thing, and their hearts skipped a beat. They looked at each other in utter confusion. The situation was not what they had imagined! There was something wrong with the Floating Island
