Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 1997: Chapter 1977:
"Um... this piece of clothing is comfortable." Qhianqhian smiled awkwardly, after all, people were just being concerned, right?
These bloodstains can be washed out, but the burnt parts can’t be fixed...
And about changing clothes, let’s just forget it, if Shiliu were here it’d be fine, but she’s the only girl here, right? Can’t we just give her a break and not ask such dumb questions?
"Who knows what could be up these stairs..." Di Jun coughed awkwardly, unsure of how to defuse the situation, while the other two pretended not to hear...
"Let’s go up and take a look." Qhianqhian readily shifted the topic; she didn’t want to waste time on this subject.
"Shiqi, you fall back." Seeing Qhianqhian eagerly wanting to be the first to explore, Mo reached out and grabbed her collar, pulling her behind him with a look of exasperation: "Don’t be so eager in everything, we’ve got men here, don’t steal the spotlight."
"Exactly, exactly." Di Jun nodded repeatedly, smiling at Qhianqhian: "Besides, you should be by my side, in case there’s danger, you can quickly get me out, and as long as the others don’t die, they’ll return safely."
Regarding Di Jun’s words, even Mo, not to mention Long Tu, instinctively ignored them.
Are you kidding? Who would randomly think about dying or not? Isn’t this just ridiculous? The most important thing is, what if you just up and die?
Mo felt a deep sense of powerlessness in his heart. He was walking at the front; his cultivation level was the highest, and he was also the most sensitive to danger. If he discovered any threat, naturally he would have a chance to let others leave first, right?
So long as it’s not something like the revival of the Five Emperors, he should be able to handle it, somehow he was an excellent graduate, right?
"Let’s go up." Qhianqhian shook her head helplessly, not wanting to bother with Di Jun. Sometimes she felt Di Jun’s thought process ought to be checked at a hospital, feeling it was quite quirky.
Mo boldly walked up the stairs first, closely followed by Long Tu, then Huangfu Yihui, with Qhianqhian behind him, and finally Di Jun.
Just as Di Jun said, so long as he’s not dead, he can bring people back, so it’s crucial to ensure he’s safe, right?
Thus, he stayed at the back, completely protected by Qhianqhian, earning disdain from Huangfu Yihui... How could there be such a man? Hiding behind a woman’s back, what kind of guy is that? What kind of man is he?
Aren’t men supposed to be strong and protect women? This is entirely too disgraceful to men’s dignity...
Yet Di Jun seemed oblivious to such disdain, leisurely following Qhianqhian, looking here and there, even tempted to pry off a Luminous Pearl embedded in the wall for a closer look.
Of course, he was ultimately stopped by Qhianqhian, fearing perhaps there’s a mechanism on the Luminous Pearl, what if a huge mass of flesh and blood rolled down from the stairs unexpectedly?
The most crucial point is, what if something heavy rolls down that they can’t control, wouldn’t everyone be doomed?
"We’re at the top." Mo gazed at the huge door ahead, took a deep breath, and said softly.
Almost as soon as these words were spoken, even Mo and Di Jun readied their weapons, as if gearing up for a fight.
But as the door opened, a light streamed toward Di Jun, then vanished without a trace, leaving behind a secret chamber filled with countless books.
"This... is all Martial Arts Secret Manuals!" Mo rifled through them, taking a deep breath in astonishment.
Though many of them were familiar from the academy, seeing so many here was quite a remarkable sight, wasn’t it?
"Collect them, collect them, later send them to the Nine Heavens Pavilion and trade for some good food!" Di Jun said nonchalantly to Mo, hinting at sharing the benefits together.
Qhianqhian was speechless—send to Nine Heavens Pavilion... for food?
Is Nine Heavens Pavilion a pawn shop? But the barter involves food instead of Silver Taels?
However, seeing others indifferent, Mo nodded and started gathering them. After all, they already have cultivation techniques suited to themselves, exchanging them might not progress as quickly.
"What is this?" Qhianqhian frowned as she looked at an unassuming clay jar by the bookshelf. Somehow, it strangely drew her attention...
"Don’t touch it, it’s a Demon-Sealing Jar." Long Tu immediately reached out, firmly pulling Qhianqhian into his arms, his face tense.
Mo’s face turned dark.
Because opportunities cannot be seized, he didn’t ask Long Tu what the previous ray of light brought him; those behind might not see clearly, but it happened right before him, how could he not see?
Now, he’s angry though unconcerned with the opportunity, daring to act so openly before him...
"Oh, thanks." Qhianqhian swiftly left Long Tu’s embrace, it wasn’t by chance; she realized a sense of familiarity from Long Tu...
But she knew her own future, so decisively left; no matter how familiar, she couldn’t disregard her brother.
So it’s best to go with the flow.
Reaching out to grab Mo’s arm, looking innocent: "You remember to send them to Nine Heavens Pavilion!"
Mo was dumbfounded by Qhianqhian’s action, then smiled helplessly; what use would he have for these things? He’d surely send them...
Smiling helplessly, his gaze fell on the clay jar, frowning: "Is the Demon-Sealing Jar something comparable to the Longevity Picture...?"
"It should be." Long Tu responded without much reaction, as if genuinely worried about Qhianqhian touching the jar, gently frowning: "It’s probably the most precious thing here, but we can’t take it."
The light that flew into his brow came from one of the Five Emperors’ weapons, but this is merely a soon-to-break object, aging with time, inherently fragile and weak.
"Why?" Mo asked incredulously.
Long Tu sighed slightly: "Because it’s about to break, even a casual touch might make it collapse. For our safety, it’s best not to act foolishly. Though we’re five, we’re barely a fraction of the Demon Spirits inside."
Mo’s expression slightly tensed, Long Tu indeed makes a valid point, but something more crucial remains.
That is, even if they didn’t tamper with anything now, upon leaving, this object might gradually shatter, then wouldn’t this place be enveloped by Demon Spirits?
"Here, they can’t escape, it’s a Land of Heritage; except for recognized Heirs, everything else can’t leave. It’s a one-way path; our entrance is already sealed." Long Tu spoke slowly.
