Chapter 2006: Chapter 1986: Mo’s Departure

After an unknown amount of time, the thunderclouds dissipated, and Mo returned to the courtyard where two people were chatting happily, having prepared a table full of delicious food, looking extremely joyful.

"Mo, hurry up and help us," Luo Qianqian waved when she saw Mo come in, cheerfully saying, "We need two fish now; it’s urgent. You’re the best at this, so please go fetch them quickly."

Mo was startled, looking at Luo Qianqian with eyes full of surprise. She... actually had nothing to say about the Dan Jie? Is eating the most important thing right now?

But indeed, during their time in the Forbidden Land, they couldn’t eat anything tasty, eventually resorting to Fasting Pills since some things were so disgusting that thinking about them was enough to lose weight.

So now, in this lovely environment, naturally, food is the priority. With a relieved smile, Mo confidently leaped up to go catch some fish.

He Wenyu sighed in relief when Mo actually left and said, "So he’s really leaving tomorrow?"

"That’s what he said, it should be true. Luckily you’re here; otherwise, I’d probably just be honored by having him eat instant noodles," Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue, letting a bit of sadness seep through.

"Lovesickness from ancient times aches in separation; how can one bear the loneliness of a chilly autumn festival?" He Wenyu sighed and then said, "Actually, I didn’t leave with the teacher because I felt nervous when you’re not around, and the teacher said if I really took the top spot, I wouldn’t be able to leisurely stay here; I’d be caught up by various people offering excellent conditions to help them cook a meal. But after thinking about it, although I like cooking, I prefer cooking for people I care about, and for them to eat cleanly. Our Nine Heavens Pavilion isn’t short on money, so it’s unnecessary."

"If you don’t want to go, then don’t. I wouldn’t like you cooking for others either; I’d get jealous... Zhang Sheng is truly unlucky to have run into a friend like me, haha." Luo Qianqian snickered, and turning her head, she saw Mo appear with two fish, and she immediately laughed, "Here we go, let’s cook the fish."

"What’s it got to do with him..." He Wenyu muttered a couple of words, but took the fish and calmly shooed Luo Qianqian away, "You shouldn’t mess with this; your skills are too limited."

Luo Qianqian: "..." Crushing.

Due to He Wenyu’s meticulous preparations, this meal was enjoyed joyously: "Alright, I’m off to wait for Zhang Sheng; you two eat slowly." He Wenyu looked at them slowly and said, then carried away the food basket in his hand.

Luo Qianqian suddenly burst into laughter and waved her hand, "Bye, don’t come back too late."

He Wenyu rolled his eyes and said while walking, "You mean don’t come back too early, right? Don’t want to be a third wheel."

After He Wenyu left, Luo Qianqian and Mo also fell into silence.

"When will you be back?" Luo Qianqian finally asked once the sky had darkened.

"Not too late, but don’t worry about anyone bullying you; my brother will be out soon," Mo tugged at his lips, speaking with some discomfort.

Luo Qianqian was startled, looking at Mo with eyes quite unfriendly, making the glaze in his eyes flicker; Mo felt uneasy, "What’s wrong?"

"Your purpose being here is just to ensure I don’t get bullied?" Luo Qianqian asked.

Mo awkwardly chuckled; that was naturally not it.

"So, when exactly are you coming back? Wasn’t it mentioned you’d leave in a year’s time?" Luo Qianqian asked after a long silence, looking at Mo’s awkward smile.

"Well... but leaving early means coming back early, right?" Speaking, Mo stood up, stretched out his hand to pull Luo Qianqian into his arms, resting his chin on her head as he sighed, "You’re clearly not a child anymore; why do I feel such guilt at this moment?"

"Hmm?" Luo Qianqian looked confused.

"Can I kiss you?" Mo asked.

Luo Qianqian was stunned.

What the heck? Why ask such a question???

How is she supposed to answer this?

"Shiqi, wait for me," Mo bent down and planted a kiss on Luo Qianqian’s forehead.

Luo Qianqian didn’t shy away but was markedly a bit disappointed...

Mo took out a ring and handed it to Luo Qianqian, "This is for you; so you don’t have to worry about showing off your space ring. Though it’s small, the design is quite beautiful."

Luo Qianqian looked at the pink jade thumb ring on her finger and chuckled, "A token of love?"

Mo was startled, then his eyes lit up.

"Ah, I don’t have anything impressive to give you... oh, here, take this. I couldn’t understand it; maybe you can figure it out and tell me about it when you return."

Flipping through the Xuanming Ring, Luo Qianqian was surprised to find a book Fu Qing had previously given her; her eyes immediately lit up, and she laughed, "This is important to me, so don’t lose it. As for other things, I’ll give them to you when you return."

Looking at the text on the book, Mo was amazed, it was ancient script?

But still, he nodded, "Alright, I’ll take it."

Early the next morning, after eating the noodles Luo Qianqian cooked, Mo ruffled her hair and kissed her lightly on her flushed eyes before turning to leave.

He Wenyu yawned, watching Luo Qianqian who reluctantly looked in Mo’s departure direction and muttered, "You didn’t even miss your mom this much when she left."

"If my mom wants to see me, she can come anytime; when he leaves, I don’t know when he’ll be back..." Luo Qianqian wiped the moisture from the corner of her eyes, turning to plunge into He Wenyu: "I’m hungry; I want to eat meat pies!!! Fasting pills are too awful!!!"

He Wenyu: "..." You’re recovering way too fast!

Mo stood in front of the old man, and seeing his wet eyes, felt a bit speechless, "Are you a little girl?"

"You have delicious food, and didn’t even think to bring me some!" The old man looked sorrowfully. He really dared not face He Wenyu!

Mo: "..." Luo Qianqian just made a bowl of noodles, even if she made more, he’s stingy, okay? Absolutely can’t give it.

"Why haven’t you left yet? Why come here?" The old man asked in displeasure.

"There seems to be an ancient language dictionary in the dean’s office? Give it to me," Mo demanded bluntly.

The old man rolled his eyes, "You only come here to take these rare books! Hurry up and get lost!" He threw the heavy, enormous dictionary into Mo’s embrace and waved his hand in annoyance, turning his back: "Remember to bring me some good food when you return."

Mo: "... Once I was greedy, I got a female disciple; now it’s turned into an addiction," he said, rolling his eyes as he left.

With a deep sigh, the old man chuckled bitterly, "Destiny..."
