Chapter 1309: Chapter 1309: Can’t Bear It

Henry Chapman and Felix Chapman hurriedly tried to calm Old Mr. Chapman, afraid that Charles Seymour had angered him too much.

The wedding of Charles Seymour and Sophie Wilson surprised many in the Imperial City, and Ethan Seymour, being Charles’s father, felt quite humiliated for not being invited.

Even when he went to work, his expression was grim. Seeing Ralap Lee, he couldn’t help but make a sarcastic remark: "Chairman Lee took a day off just to attend Charles Seymour’s wedding; it seems his influence is indeed substantial."

Even a few days later, he still felt uneasy.

Several directors from the company attended, but he hadn’t received any information, leaving him wondering where his dignity stood.

In the past, Ralap Lee might have made a few sarcastic comments, but this time, he just gave Ethan a deep look, sighed, and said, "Luckily, you didn’t meddle with Charles, letting him grow on his own."

"Ethan, after all these years, this is the only thing you’ve done right," Ralap Lee’s words nearly infuriated Ethan, "What do you mean?"

"Just look at what James Reed has become under your guidance. As for Charles... forget it, I’m not going to say more." Ralap Lee recalled the people he saw at the wedding... and he knew there wasn’t much more to say.

"From now on, you better take care of yourself," Ralap Lee’s words stoked Ethan’s anger, "What do you mean? It was just about him investing in an amusement park, wasn’t it?"

Ralap Lee simply shook his head without saying anything further.

His attitude left Ethan puzzling; what had Charles done to warrant Ralap’s apprehension?

Ethan, puzzled by Charles, found Charles pitifully tugging at Sophie Wilson’s clothes, quietly calling her: "Sophie."

"Hmph." Sophie Wilson snorted, turning her face away.

Charles quickly scooted over in front of her, squeezing out a smile.

Sophie snorted again and turned to the other side.

Charles swiftly moved in front of her, explaining himself: "It wasn’t intentional."

"You, you! Even forgot something like this. You didn’t clarify things with Bo, and just left, leaving Bo sad, didn’t you? Wouldn’t cry, huh?" Sophie angrily poked his arm, "Who said they would talk to Bo in the first place?"

"I did." Charles wouldn’t deny the promises he made.

"Did you tell him then?" Sophie was truly exasperated.

Charles scratched his head, awkwardly admitting: "Forgot."

Turns out, what he forgot on the plane was to inform Bo about the honeymoon plans with Sophie.

This led to Bo complaining to Sophie over the phone just now.

"You should have just handed it over if you couldn’t do it. I could have talked to Bo." Sophie was beyond angry, "Our sudden departure made Bo think we abandoned him, imagine how upset he must be."

Both she and Charles didn’t grow up with their parents around, so they’ve experienced that feeling of losing support.

Thinking of this, Sophie sighed softly: "I can’t put all the blame on you. You’ve been busy preparing all this."

Charles reached out, gently touching Sophie’s cheek, with a subtle, happy smile at the corner of his lips, "Sophie, you can’t even bear to blame me, can you?"
