Chapter 1405: Chapter 1405: Long Time No See

Master Clark froze for a moment and couldn’t help but laugh, "Boss Payten, what’s going on here? You’ve got such a daring customer; that’s really not easy."

The owner of the jade stones, Boss Payten, was standing to the side. Was the person with his back to them crazy or something?

Even if he didn’t understand the rules here, anyone with common sense would know not to say such things in front of the boss, right?

Isn’t this ruining someone’s business?

Boss Payten, whose skin was tanned and dark, reluctantly rubbed his head but didn’t say anything.

"Sir, is it really unsuitable to purchase this piece of jade?" Mr. Fenton asked more tactfully; he really couldn’t bring himself to say the words "gamble and lose" in front of Boss Payten.

"Yes." The man with his back to them answered simply and clearly, without a single extra word of explanation.

"Master Clark seems quite determined to get this piece of jade." Mr. Fenton probed.

He didn’t know who this person was, the one who had been facing away from them while studying the jade, whether he was genuinely trying to warn him or just pretending to spook him in order for Isabella Chamberlain to get the jade at a lower price.

In the business world, anything could happen. He couldn’t help but think more.

"Him?" The man uttered one word, and anyone could hear his contempt and disdain.

Master Clark heard this, and his expression changed. For so many years, who dared to disrespect him?

"What? Friend, are you looking down on my skills? Or do you mean that you’re better than me in the gambling stones realm?" Master Clark retorted sarcastically, "Since we are both experts, why not compete and see who is truly better?"

Those outside the enclosure couldn’t help but laugh.

"Is there anyone who would doubt Master Clark?"

"Nowadays, Master Clark is the number one in the gambling stones realm."

Although no one said it out loud, everyone knew that had it not been for Master Clark’s interest in that piece of jade, Master Warren and Mr. Fenton might not have been tempted to act.

Initially, Master Warren had about a sixty percent certainty of gambling on that piece of jade, but after finding out that Master Clark wanted Isabella Chamberlain to buy that jade, his certainty increased to ninety percent.

Suddenly, this person appeared, insisting that the piece of jade was a losing bet, and it was the one Master Clark had favored. This was simply a colossal joke.

"You?" The speaker scoffed, slowly turning around to directly face Master Clark, "Are you qualified?"

Once Master Clark saw the man’s appearance, his anger and disdain instantly turned to shock, followed by more panic and helplessness, and even endless fear. In the end, he struggled to move his lips, seemingly trying to force a smile.

Unfortunately, he did not succeed. That smile was much more unbearable than a cry.

Master Warren looked at the man and lightly frowned, muttering to himself, "Why does he look somewhat familiar?"

"Master Warren, do you know this person?" Mr. Fenton asked quietly as well.

"Hmm... I think I’ve seen him before." Master Warren scratched his head, feeling like he’d seen this person somewhere.

At this moment, an old man outside the enclosure exclaimed, "Stone God Grant!"

"Stone God Grant?" The people nearby exclaimed, "Is it that Stone God Grant?"

"Who else besides him is worthy of being called Stone God?"

"But hasn’t he been missing for a few years?"

Patrick Grant, smiling at Master Clark whose features were twisted, said, "Long time no see, Master Clark."
