The other three also perked up their ears.

"The shared bike situation has come to a close for now. The main thing is getting all the companies to issue refunds to users who requested them. Our company wasn’t affected too much, though we did have a lot of users ask for refunds."

"I mainly came back to have a meal with Old Liu and talk about a few things."

Wang Hai’s face was a question mark. "Old Liu? Which Old Liu!?"

It was Li Li who said the name. "Liu Yunlong?"

"Yup! That’s him." Liu Yunlong was the principal of their high school. He held a lot of prestige in the students’ eyes, and his way of doing things was popular with many of them.

Gao Qiang unwrapped a pair of disposable chopsticks, rubbing them together as he asked, "You’ve already graduated, so what’s there to come back and talk about? Did he ask you to give a pep talk to the underclassmen?"

Gao Qiang thought for a moment and added, "Or maybe he wants you to make a donation? No way. Old Liu isn’t that shameless, is he?"

"Qiangzai, you’re only half right!" Wu Yun said with a chuckle. "I did come back to talk about a donation, but it wasn’t Old Liu who asked. I had my people reach out to him first."

Seeing the surprised looks on all four of their faces, Wu Yun smiled. "Because I’m donating to my university, and if I didn’t give something to my own high school, I’d feel like something was missing. Besides, the school really helped me out a lot back then. I still remember that kindness."

"Ah Yun, how much are you planning to donate?!" Gao Qiang knew about Wu Yun’s previous extravagant donations. He was sure this time would be even more, not less. After all, the Wu Yun of today was far richer than before.

"Fifty million per school," Wu Yun said casually, but the others at the table knew that this was no small sum.

HISS! The sound of a sharp intake of breath was heard. Wang Hai looked shocked. "You’re donating that much?!"

After a year of university, the guys had a much better concept of money. Their monthly living expenses were only a little over a thousand yuan.

Li Li sighed inwardly. ’This is the gap between us. We’re still friends for old time’s sake, but we’ll probably drift apart in the future.’

But Wang Hai joked, "Ah Yun! Why don’t we all just come leech off you after we graduate!"

Wu Yun joked back, "No problem. I’ll save the position of Chief of Toilets for you!"

"Liu Yi! What are you laughing at? The Head of Security position is waiting for you!"

Wu Yun easily steered the conversation away with the same kinds of jokes they used to tell while shooting the shit back in school.

Just then, a server came over carrying a stainless steel tray. "Careful! It’s hot!"

One by one, stainless steel bowls were placed in front of everyone.

"Shit! Is this little clump of noodles going to be enough?!" Da Xiong asked in shock, using his chopsticks to lift the single small bundle of noodles in his bowl.

Wu Yun turned and said, "Ah, I forgot to ask the owner for extra noodles! You guys go ahead and eat. We still have the barbecue coming. If it’s not enough, we can just order more later!"

Soon, the barbecue they had ordered was also brought to the table.

Then, they started chatting about games while eating the skewers.

When they were about halfway through their meal, the sound of high heels approached.

Wu Yun looked up and saw it was one of the women in provocative, revealing clothes from a table in the main dining area.

"Sorry to interrupt, handsome gentlemen!" The woman swayed her hips. After getting a clear look at Wu Yun’s face, she froze for a second before smiling. "Well, if it isn’t President Wu! I never expected to see a big shot like you here in Jingyang!"

"I’m the manager of XX Business KTV. Just now, I saw a few foreigners and wanted to come over to drum up some business, but I didn’t realize they were with you, President Wu. My apologies!"

As she spoke, the woman pulled a fragrant business card from her purse and placed it on the table next to Wu Yun. "President Wu, I know a small establishment like ours might not be up to your standards, but this is my card. If you ever want to come out and have some fun, or if you have any business entertainment needs, remember to give me a call. Private rooms, beautiful women... I’ll arrange everything for you perfectly!"

The woman put down the card, smiled and nodded at the group, and walked back to her own table. Wu Yun glanced over. He couldn’t tell what she said to her friends, but they all looked over in his direction with surprise.

Gao Qiang gulped as he watched her sensual figure walk away. He finally snapped out of his daze and said, "Ah Yun! Is this your normal life?! Beautiful women just throw themselves at you?"

Wu Yun smiled and tossed the business card to Gao Qiang. "You like her? Then you take it! As an engineer in the future, you’re going to need contacts like these anyway."

Wu Yun would never forget the time in his past life when Gao Qiang took him for a foot massage. Gao Qiang had pulled out a separate phone just for business, and his WeChat contact list was a solid block of names starting with the letter ’A’: "Xiaojing from XX Business KTV," "Manager Wang from XX Bar"...

’Even though I don’t know if Gao Qiang will still go into engineering in this life after selling his Bitcoin,’ Wu Yun thought, ’I’d bet there’s an eighty or ninety percent chance he’ll still do it—but for himself this time! After all, he grew up around it, so the work is second nature to him.’

"Alright! I’ll get a head start on expanding my network then!"

Gao Qiang chuckled slyly and put the card away.

Wu Yun offered a word of caution, "Don’t get scammed. These people are no pushovers."

Gao Qiang said dismissively, "I know, I know! I went with my dad a couple of times when he was entertaining clients."

「The next day at noon.」

Wu Yun arrived on time at a private room in the Pacific Hotel.

When Wu Yun pushed the door open and entered, a middle-aged man in his forties immediately stood up and walked toward the entrance.

The four people beside him also stood up. Wu Yun’s high school form teacher was surprisingly among them.

"Welcome back to Jingyang, Wu Yun!" Liu Yunlong said with a hearty laugh, stepping forward to shake Wu Yun’s hand.

"Principal Liu, hello! This is the first time we’ve met one-on-one! Haha!"

Wu Yun then shook hands with two vice-principals. When he got to the last person, his form teacher Wu Zhiyong, Wu Yun smiled and grasped both of Wu Zhiyong’s hands. "Teacher Wu, it’s been a long time!"

Only thirty years old, Wu Zhiyong was overjoyed and emotional. The words he wanted to say got stuck in his throat, and in the end, he could only express himself with an action, patting Wu Yun firmly on the shoulder. "You’ve really made something of yourself!"

"Let’s not just stand here. Let’s sit and talk!" Liu Yunlong interrupted the tender reunion between teacher and student with a chuckle.

When they went to sit down, despite Wu Yun’s repeated refusals, Liu Yunlong reluctantly took the seat of honor.

Wu Yun, meanwhile, sat next to his form teacher.

They must have done their homework beforehand, as the other two vice-principals and the dean of students all acted as if they were very familiar with Wu Yun.

After chatting for a while about the university and his high school days, Wu Yun stood up, raised his glass, and said, "Principal Liu! To all the principals and teachers! Thank you for the help the school gave me during my most difficult times. Now that I’ve made some money, I’ve decided to give back to the school!"

"Thank you, Wu Yun. The school’s development depends on the support of outstanding alumni like you! I’ll drink to that first, as a sign of respect! Thank you for your support!"

After downing the glass of liquor, Wu Yun seemed unaffected. He sat back down and continued, "So, this time, I’ve decided to donate fifty million to the school!"

The words had barely left his mouth when the female dean of students spat out the tea she was drinking.

"I’m so sorry! I just got a little excited!" The dean covered her mouth with an apologetic look.

However, no one else at the table paid her any mind, as they were all just as shocked.

Principal Liu, however, sat up straight and said, "Wu Yun, we know you’ve achieved great success, but fifty million is no small sum! Many companies don’t even have that much in liquid assets!"

"Donating is a good thing, but what we hope for from our alumni is that they help the school within their means. That would be best!"

"If you donate this much, will it affect your company? After all, from what we understand, Little Red Car needs a lot of funding right now!"

There was another thought Principal Liu kept to himself: he hoped Wu Yun wasn’t donating such a huge amount recklessly just for the sake of publicity.

"Don’t worry, Principal Liu! This amount of money is very easy for me to come up with right now. If you knew a bit more about me, you’d know that one quarter’s profit from my two game companies is enough for me to make this donation ten or twenty times over!"

"And this donation isn’t just for my high school. I’ve donated the same amount to the university I’m currently attending as well!"

The others were left completely speechless. They were stunned by Wu Yun’s generosity and were now even more curious about the state of his business empire.

How on earth had Wu Yun managed to build all this in just one year?
