Rebirth: I have Monopoly System

Chapter 509 - 413: Mom, You Mean You’re Giving Me a Whole Building?

  • Next Chapter

The Titan Game Asia Finals concluded smoothly, but the storm online was just beginning.

There were congratulations for Zhang Ye, the firefighter who had distinguished himself in the competition, and even more people voiced their desire to participate.

Videos of Zhang Ye’s matches made their way overseas, and many international competitors and viewers voiced their opinions about him.

"This guy is insanely strong! Looks like that US$5 million won’t be so easy to earn!"

"The world championship is going to be something to watch!"

"I never thought Huaxia had men this strong and sexy!"

Of course, there were also comments about Wu Yun.

Especially after Wu Yun made his veiled comments, he was flooded with malicious messages from the fans of pop idols.

Some said he couldn’t represent Huaxia!

Others said he was spouting nonsense!

Worse still, some resorted to personal attacks.

"So what if you have some stinking money! What right do you have to say my Qianxi isn’t masculine!"

"Right! All those bulging muscles are disgusting. I only like men who just have abs!"

"Why don’t you just go kill yourself? Only my idol is worthy of my attention!"

When Wu Yun saw these comments, he was reminded of the mother from the future whose child was run over and killed at school. The subsequent cyberbullying from people like this directly drove her to jump off a building to her death.

’There must be people fanning the flames here, too,’ he thought.

With that, Wu Yun made his decision and posted on social media: "You clowns can get ready to receive your court summonses!"

Wu Yun immediately handed the entire matter over to the Guowei Law Firm, with whom he had worked before. He demanded that they make those keyboard warriors spreading cyberbullying pay the price!

After Wu Yun made the post, some people in the comments mocked him, saying he was just bluffing.

It wasn’t long before they were eating their words. Zhang Guowei, in conjunction with numerous law firms across the country, issued a public notice: all the evidence had been collected, and legal proceedings would commence in courts nationwide!

A large number of netizens also voiced their support for Wu Yun, with some even elevating the discussion to patriotic themes like "a strong youth makes for a strong nation."

Of course, many celebrities, particularly action stars, spoke out in support of Wu Yun’s statement. They also tagged Wu Yun, expressing their hope for a chance to attend the Titan Game finals in person and support the Huaxia contestants.

The online storm, however, didn’t affect Wu Yun’s life. He was currently in a car on his way to Yu Min’s company.

As he passed an office building, Wu Yun noticed a large crowd gathered at its base, though he couldn’t tell what they were doing.

But as the car got closer, Wu Yun saw a few signs: "Ofo Little Yellow Car deposit refunds, please queue here to register!"

Wu Yun understood at once. He took a picture with his phone and sent it to the Little Red Car Company’s group chat.

Recently, thanks to a guarantee from ICBC and a dedicated deposit account, the number of Little Red Car users requesting refunds had gradually decreased. Meanwhile, registrations not only didn’t drop but actually increased, absorbing a large number of users from Mobike and Little Yellow Car.

With the deposit issue settled, Little Red Car’s position as the leader of the bike-sharing industry became unshakeable. Coupled with the fact that Little Red Car was making a name for itself in major coastal cities in the United States, more and more investors and companies began extending olive branches.

DiDi and Meituan had both expressed their interest in partnering with Little Red Car.

Therefore, Little Red Car was also preparing to start its B-round financing. Tang Hongjiang was currently leading a team, along with Li Qiuliang, in negotiations with investors.

Presumably, they wouldn’t have any concrete results until Wu Yun returned to Rongcheng.

Arriving once again at Yu Min’s company, Wu Yun saw that the entire building belonged to the Hongyu Hui Energy Group. He was suddenly reminded of the task he had given Wang Hao some time ago.

"Wang Hao! I asked you to look for a building. Did you find one?"

Wu Yun spoke as he walked through the security gate the receptionist had opened for him.

Wang Hao hurried to catch up. "President Wu, there are very few entire buildings for sale in Rongcheng!"

"The only options are for just a few floors in old buildings, which doesn’t meet our requirements at all!"

"The better office buildings are only selling by the floor, and the prices are daylight robbery!"

"So for now, I haven’t found anything that fits the bill!"

Wu Yun nodded. He knew Wang Hao was telling the truth; after all, most large corporations just built their own if they wanted an entire office building.

"Alright! Keep an eye out! Let me know if you hear anything!"

Wu Yun’s backup plan was to buy one of those stalled projects where the main structure was already finished. As long as the interior was decorated properly, it would be good enough to make do with.

Of course, that was just a stopgap measure because he was in a hurry. If time weren’t a factor, Wu Yun would definitely build his own office building.

Wu Yun recalled that there was an office building with a completed main structure next to the Capital City Hualian at Salt Market in Rongcheng. If he remembered correctly, construction on that building wasn’t finished until just before his rebirth.

Before his rebirth, back in college, he used to see that stalled building all the time when he took his girlfriend to Salt Market. He thought it was called Xinghui Square. But after he moved back to Jingyang, he lost track of it. He only heard that the building had changed hands between two different owners.

"By the way, go look into Xinghui Square in Rongcheng. I heard their developer might have run out of money! I’ll ask my mom in a bit if she has any connections."

The female employee leading Wu Yun and his group glanced at him curiously. After bringing them to their destination, she turned and left.

Just then, Yu Min’s secretary, Xiaoliu, walked over, shot Wang Hao a series of playful winks, and then said with a smile, "President Wu, President Yu is in a meeting right now. She asked that you wait in her office."
