Lv Beiguang also felt quite troubled. It’s unrealistic for him to stay here.

"Xiuqin, I know you might not be suited for life in the North. I hope you Niang San will come back with me."

Yang Xiuqin couldn’t bear to see Lv Beiguang looking so pitiful. Thinking about how there was no one left here to hold her back, she nodded.

Lv Beiguang’s face immediately lit up with a smile, which surprised Yang Xiuqin.

"Xiuqin, thank you. It’s not that I don’t want to accommodate you; it’s just that over there, I can pursue things I like, but here, it’s absolutely impractical."

"Alright."

"Let’s get the marriage license here. I brought a blank introduction letter with the official seal. I can fill it out myself."

"Lv Beiguang, have you really thought it through? Do you want to marry me?"

Lv Beiguang solemnly nodded, "What’s there to think? We are already a couple and have two kids.

Even though I didn’t know before, once I found out, I must take responsibility for you."

Lv Beiguang carried the two kids as he followed behind Yang Xiuqin to the subdistrict office.

The marriage application was stamped, and the two of them then went to the civil affairs bureau. With all the procedures complete, they held their marriage certificate by the morning.

"Lv Beiguang, about the children’s surname?"

"If you want the two children to have the surname Yang, I don’t mind either." Lv Beiguang was quite open-minded in this regard. He knew the Yang Family only had his wife left, so he was fine with the children bearing the Yang name. Besides, they were all his children anyway.

The children, at over seven months, still couldn’t speak, but they were already very close to him. The trio played quite well.

After feeding them egg custard, Yang Xiuqin noticed both of them seemed a bit low-spirited, so she held them into the room to nurse them. Only after they were asleep did she come out to eat.

"I’ll go and resign in a while."

Yang Xiuqin went to the neighborhood committee, and everyone there smiled and congratulated her.

"Xiuqin, are you and him reconciled?"

Yang Xiuqin smiled and nodded, "Yes, there was a bit of a misunderstanding before."

"That’s good. What can’t be resolved between a couple? Now the kids can have a normal family."

"Sister Cao, I’m here to resign. We Niang San are going back with their dad."

"You should take a rest for a while. I’ll go to the train station to get the timings."

Lv Beiguang eventually bought tickets for a train departing at two o’clock the day after tomorrow.

With the return date confirmed, the two spent the afternoon packing their luggage.

Yang Xiuqin didn’t have much stuff, mostly the children’s supplies and clothes.

Taking the train in June was still manageable, which was why Yang Xiuqin agreed to Lv Beiguang leaving immediately.

They packed up some things they wouldn’t use and a few food tickets. Yang Xiuqin also took a couple of snacks next door.

"Xiuqin, are you leaving?"

"Yes, it’s better for the kids to have their dad, and we talked things out."

"That’s good then. Xiuqin, don’t have little outbursts in the future. Whatever happens with you two, calm down and talk it out."

"Aunt, I know. I’ll also trouble you to keep an eye on the house."

"Alright, don’t worry. Xiuqin, make sure to take care of yourself out there."

In all the hustle and bustle, by the evening everything was packed, leaving only what was needed now.

"We should take the bicycle along, it can still carry luggage."

"Alright, let’s take the stroller too. It can help with moving them around on the train. Anyway, I bought four sleeper tickets, so our whole family can be in one compartment."

Lv Beiguang had to use ten extra food tickets to get them. Normally, his personality wouldn’t allow it, but for the kids, he faced the embarrassment to do so.

The two children now clung to Lv Beiguang very much.

"Xiuqin, I plan to go out for a bit tomorrow, since I’m here, I should bring some things back for the family."

"I’ve already bought some." Yang Xiuqin had enough social intelligence for that.

"I’ll go get some more." There’s really quite a bit to take back. If there’s no other choice, I’ll find a car in the city; this way the kids won’t suffer.

The city has carriages too. Besides, a tractor goes from the village to the city every day to deliver eggs, and if we time it right, we might even get to take a ride back. The weather isn’t cold now, so there’s nothing to worry about for the kids.
