Tonight’s dinner was quite harmonious. The sisters-in-law got along well. No one would find discomfort today.

Dad was happy today, and if they caused a scene, it wouldn’t just be a scolding.

Yang Run Tai looked at his little uncle and his wife, feeling quite helpless. These two were a couple yet seemed out of place like strangers.

Yang Run Tai could understand his little uncle’s feelings for Jing Chu, but the family disagreed. The main issue is she doesn’t fancy him at all, so why obsess over it?

Liu Hong served tangyuan to her son. Being able to gather together with the family on such a day meant the world to Liu Hong compared to anything else, especially her son. For Yang Jiu Long, this was the most meaningful festival.

Normally, they could leave after dinner, but nobody dared to arrange a departure today.

Yang Yujie sat beside her elder brother, speaking softly.

“Brother, how’s Feifei doing lately?”

“Not bad, the four college students from Li Family Village are here now, they’re busy touring the Capital every day.”

“Then Zhenyu and I will invite them to dinner tomorrow.”

They spent such a long time living in Li Family Village, and their relationships are pretty good. Of course, they should entertain them now in the Capital.

“You better take them to Shuanrou City for dinner; Cheng Lin and Hongling both love that place.”

“Alright, we’ll go to Teacher Jiang’s house tomorrow night. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Feifei.” Unfortunately, the brother can leave, but they must stay to show off with their mom.

Brother Zhenyu joined in. “What’s happening?”

“The Red Army guys came over.”

“Really? That’s great, only Xiao Qiang hasn’t returned.”

Yang Run Tai glanced at his brother in surprise.

“Zhao Xiaoqiang went back home.”

“Which university did he get into?”

“Transportation University. He’s my classmate.”

“Haha, that’s pretty good. Everyone from Li Family Village made it to university.”

“Indeed, even Chaoyang got in.”

The rest of the younger ones were speaking quietly among themselves.

Yang Jiu Long checked the time, “Everyone should head back. Old Fourth is tired, let him rest.”

At this point, everyone felt like they’d been granted a reprieve and left together.

Liu Hong pulled her son aside, asking tons of questions. Her son not being by her side these years made her feel less confident.

“Alright, let Old Fourth rest, there’s plenty of time later.”

Liu Hong reluctantly instructed Tao YanZhen to take good care of her son before supporting Yang Jiu Long back to his room.

Si Jia and Shihao were pulled over by Yang Zhongyi, who had much to say to them.

In fact, he already knew about the children, but just hadn’t been able to return.

Tao YanZhen didn’t bother with the three of them, instead went back to her room to shower. This also gave Yang Zhongyi some time.

Shihao was very curious about wartime stories. He listened to his dad and, even though it was the first time meeting him, felt admiration.

Receiving such admiration from one’s children is very exciting for a father. It went on until after ten o’clock, when he noticed Si Jia was yawning. Then, Yang Zhongyi realized it was late.

He watched the two kids return to their bedrooms before going to his own room.

He saw his wife reading in bed.

Tao YanZhen noticed Yang Zhongyi entering, “There’s hot water in the bathroom.”

Yang Zhongyi nodded, saw a set of change clothes on the bed, picked them up, and went into the bathroom.

This used to be his room, so he was very familiar. But it’s different now, mostly filled with women’s items.

During the years outside, he thought of Tao YanZhen sometimes, but not often.

He knew he wasn’t a qualified husband, but their marriage was like this from the beginning.

After showering, he came out and saw Tao YanZhen asleep, so he carefully got into bed.

With his wife lying beside him, it was difficult for a man who had been abstinent for over six years. So he tentatively reached out.

Tao YanZhen didn’t refuse. After all, their marriage definitely wouldn’t break up. Although they had other people in their hearts, she would not reject her husband.

That night, Yang Zhongyi approached three times. The two became more harmonious, but communication was still sparse.

The next day, Yang Zhongyi went downstairs in high spirits for breakfast.

The two kids had already returned from practicing boxing with Yang Jiu Long. The family sat together for breakfast.

“Old Fourth, how long is your leave?” Yang Jiu Long asked his son.

“Dad, I’m going to report in today, and then I’ll have a ten-day leave.”

“Good, you can take your wife to school as well.”

Yang Jiu Long was very satisfied with his youngest son’s wife. In the future, the Yang family would have not only the eldest grandson, but also the youngest daughter-in-law.

Yang Zhongyi hadn’t known his wife had gotten into university, so he was genuinely surprised now.

“Sure, I’ll have time.”

“Dad, is Mom really awesome?” Shihao asked Yang Zhongyi.

He nodded firmly, “Yes, your mom is amazing and capable. You two were born by her, so you’ll be amazing too.”

Both kids laughed.

“Fourteen people from Li Family Village got into university, including my cousin.”

“Oh?” Yang Zhongyi paused; Jing Chu must have gotten into university too?

“Also, Teacher Jiang and all his people are in the Capital.”

“We should visit them tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow works; otherwise, they won’t have time the day after.”

Yang Zhongyi nodded.

After breakfast, he left.

Meanwhile, Yang Yujie and Zhenyu went to the Wei Family.

They arrived early; otherwise, Red Army and the others would’ve gone out already.

They had good relations during their time in Li Family Village, even though they hadn’t seen each other for a long time, they still felt quite familiar.

“Red Army, my brother and I will treat you all to lunch at Shuanrou City,” Zhenyu hooked arms with the Red Army.

“Alright, Cheng Lin even said he wanted to go again, but we’ve been busy eating snacks now, no time. Your treat is perfect.”

Even though Red Army was older, there was no generation gap between them.

Just then, Zhao Xiaoqiang came with Ah Bao and his brother, making it even livelier.

“Brother Zhenyu, do you have enough money for the treat?” Shi Xianxiao teased.

“No worries, there’s enough for a few meals. I’ve collected quite a bit of money recently.”

Yang Yujie had already gone to find Feifei. The sisters were learning guzheng.

They were learning together. Their guzheng teacher was very strict, so Yang Yujie could only wait outside, watching them until class was over.

Really envy Feifei; she gives that feeling just sitting in front of the instrument. Yang Yujie imagined Feifei in traditional attire, thinking she’d certainly be even more beautiful, perhaps it’s the aura.
