Chapter 845: Best Picture

Chapter 845: Chapter 843: Best Picture

Aside from some good films winning awards, the program also selects the worst film of the festival, which has the highest Rotten Tomato index. Several times before, films from Huaxia have won this honor. Although Huaxia submitted few films, they always manage to win such an honor, showing just how careless Huaxia directors are with their films.

Therefore, Huaxia has been dubbed the country of bad films, winning this award always gives Westerners a good laugh.

Even before this film festival started, foreign friends had already published a selection on social media about who would receive the “honor” of the worst film award. Unsurprisingly, Huaxia topped the chart, holding a leading position.

It’s very ironic, but there’s absolutely nothing that can be done.

Tong Yan watched the selected film, and truth be told… it was somewhat unbearable, a typical commercial film that spent big money hiring popular young stars to attract brainless fans and make a profit. Therefore, the box office was not low, but as for the plot, acting, and rendering techniques, they were truly hard to watch.

This is also the current state of Huaxia’s films, society is too impetuous, only thinking about making money and not bothering to sincerely create works.

Just as Tong Yan was lost in thought, the host had already awarded several prizes, like Best Production Award, Best Editing Award, and others, which certainly didn’t include any from Huaxia.

At this moment, the lights suddenly dimmed, and everyone instantly quieted down.

George smiled wryly, placed his hand on the microphone, and cleared his throat, “It seems everyone here is seasoned, and knows what award I’m about to announce next.”

The crowd burst into laughter.

“Alright, I won’t say much, I believe everyone is looking forward to it.” George paused, glanced around, and his voice spread throughout the hall from the microphone, “Next is the Best Film Award, please look at the big screen.”

The screens on both sides lit up, starting to introduce the nominated films.

“This time, the nominated films include ‘Music Room at Sea’ from M Country, ‘Sound from Another Country’ from Y Country… and ‘Thunder Commando for Drug Trafficking’ from Huaxia.”

When the last name was read aloud, everyone was shocked.

Did they hear it wrong? Was a Huaxia film just mentioned?

No, no, they definitely heard it wrong, how could this happen.

Huaxia has always been firmly seated as the king of bad films, without exception, so how could it be nominated this time?

Could it be a mistake by the organizers?

The above was the sole thought in the hearts of all the artists and stars present, it was even more unlikely than the end of the world.

Of course, not only those inside but even people outside thought the same, including foreign friends and even Huaxia people.

The G Country film festival, after all, is a grand event, naturally globally broadcasted live, with quite a high online viewing rate. Even making a brief appearance offers significant exposure, and many people would be watching closely.

Upon hearing this report, the first reaction of Huaxia’s netizens was:

Did they hear it wrong just now? Are they dreaming?

The second reaction was:

Wow, could it be a mistake by the organizers?

The third reaction was:

So it’s true, could it not be a bribe by Director Luo?

It’s hard to blame them for thinking this way; there have been too many precedents letting them down time and again.

Until all the films were listed on the big screen, everyone believed it.

This is real! It’s not a mistake! They’re not dreaming!

Huaxia indeed has a film nominated at the G Country film festival!

At this moment, Huaxia’s netizens shed tears of excitement and bittersweetness.

“The nominated film entered as a dark horse, congratulations, congratulations.” George, the host, also looked very surprised, blinked and said with a smile, “For such a popularity-boosting event, I won’t invite any guests to present the award, the winner of the Best Film is—”
