Chapter 855: Chapter 853: Wronged

Bo Si lifted her head and looked out the car window; the Bo Family’s main gate suddenly appeared before her eyes.

She stared blankly. She used to be so proud of being able to walk through this gate, every time with a small thrill and a puff of pride, but this was the first time she didn’t want to go in.

“Miss?”

Bo Si came back to herself, took a deep breath, got out of the car and walked in.

Just stepping into the house, she felt something was off. The air pressure around her was very low—so low that in the vast living room no one dared to say a word—and in the very center, on the grand armchair, Old Master Bo sat with a blank expression.

Bo Si’s heart gave a thump, and she instinctively tiptoed as she was about to go in.

“Come here.”

The voice was stern.

“Grandpa.” Bo Si called out once.

Old Master Bo picked up a magazine from the table beside him and directly flung it at her. “What is all this goddamn nonsense?!”

He clearly didn’t say much, but after all, he’d been in a high position for many years; the aura of someone at the top hit her full-on, imposing without anger. For a moment, no one dared speak.

“Drug use? Scheming and plotting? Who taught you all this?” Old Master Bo shook his head, his face full of disappointment. “Bo Si, oh Bo Si, is it because I’ve spoiled you too much that you’ve ended up like this today?”

Bo Si panicked and quickly picked up the magazine. “Grandpa, I’ve always stayed by your side; don’t you know me? I remember you always taught me to be upright and aboveboard, to be sincere with people, to do things with a clear conscience before heaven and earth. How would I dare go against that? You’re the one who’s treated me the best. I still remember when I had an episode as a child, you ignored your mission and traveled thousands of miles just to come see me…”

She slowly began talking about past events, describing them in great detail.

Old Master Bo’s attitude eased, though his expression still wasn’t good.

Bo Si had been watching him the whole time. Seeing his stance soften a little, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy. Her grandpa still didn’t truly hate her—so there was still hope.

“…Grandpa, all these years I’ve always remembered how good you’ve been to me. After I came back to the country, the one who worried about me the most was you. Grandpa has always been my idol; I’ve always wanted to be someone like you, so of course I wouldn’t do that kind of messed-up stuff.”

Old Master Bo’s mood calmed. “Then what’s this about drugs?”

Bo Si lowered her head aggrievedly. “Grandpa, that was something you gave me.”

Old Master Bo: “Me?”

Bo Si said, “Grandpa was worried about my safety back then and gave me a ring. That day at the film festival, something went a bit wrong. I wanted to protect myself and activated the mechanism inside the ring; I was trying to inject the stuff hidden in the mechanism into the other person, but I couldn’t beat them and ended up injecting it into myself, so…”

As soon as Old Master Bo heard that, he exploded, “Where is Xiao Ba? How could she watch you fall into danger and not help you? Then what’s the point of having her as a bodyguard!”

The corners of Bo Si’s mouth curled up unconsciously, but she said aloud, “Grandpa, it’s not her fault, it’s mine. I was careless. Xiao Ba is usually very responsible.”

Old Master Bo was in no mood to listen. He ordered the person beside him, “Go call Xiao Yi over. Have Xiao Ba brought back for proper training. What kind of way is this to work?”

“Yes, sir.”

Old Master Bo sighed, beckoned her over, and patted the back of her hand. “Sisi has been wronged.”

Bo Si lowered her head and admitted her mistake. “Grandpa, I really just wanted to act. I thought that film was good and wanted to give it a try. As for this framing thing, I don’t even know how it happened.”

“It really is quite a show.”

At this moment, a voice came from outside.
