"He didn't even give me a reason, just told me he wanted to break up. What right does he have to break up with me like that?!"

"Next time you see him, how about I slap him hard?"

"No! I'll feel bad if I hit him."

"Okay, then what do you suggest?"

"I don't know, I don't know! Jiaojiao, I'm so upset!"

"Since he's the one who initiated this relationship, you shouldn't think about him anymore. There will be someone better who loves you in the future."

"I don't want that, I want George—"

Sheng Jiaoyang scratched her head, looking at the drunkard sobbing uncontrollably while clutching a bottle, she felt a terrible headache coming on.

That bastard George! Even spilling a glass of wine on him was too good for him!

She had originally thought George could take good care of Mei Niu. Even from a casual glance between them, she could tell George was sincere towards Mei Niu. Before her accident, Mei Niu had told her they were going to the Aegean Sea, and it hadn't been that long!

So why even bother with a relationship?

Sheng Jiaoyang scratched her head again, looking at Lin Na crying uncontrollably, she had absolutely no idea what to do.

Although she had once been madly in love with someone, she had never managed to win them over, so she couldn't possibly understand how Mei Niu was feeling now. After all, the feeling of gaining something you like and then losing it is different from the feeling of not having it and knowing you're destined never to have it.

The phone on the bar counter buzzed and vibrated.

Lin Na was still somewhat conscious, and she answered the phone with blurry eyes.

"Hello?"

"Hello?"

"Hello! Say something!"

Lin Na shouted into the phone.

Sheng Jiaoyang sighed helplessly. It wasn't that the other person wasn't speaking; she had faintly heard the voices on the other end of the phone.

She reached out and took the phone from Lin Na, answering the call for her.

"Hello!" Sheng Jiaoyang said.

"Who is this?" The person on the other end asked in English after hearing the unfamiliar voice.

Lin Na was crying and laughing, which was quite disruptive, so Sheng Jiaoyang couldn't hear the voices very clearly, but she knew what the other person was saying.

"I'm Lina's friend. She's drunk right now and can't answer the phone. What do you need her for? I'll tell her when she sobers up."

"Where are you?"

"At Lina's house." "

Is there anyone else besides you and Nana?" the person on the other end asked.

Sheng Jiaoyang found it strange and looked at the caller ID. Lina's contact name was "Bastard 2." She silently sweated; someone with such a nickname still in her phone's contact list must be someone Lina knew well. She thought for a moment and replied, "No." "

Please take good care of Nana."

Not many people called Lina "Nana." Sheng Jiaoyang was still wondering who was calling when the other end said "goodbye" and hung up.

"George, how could I not love you? Why am I so sad if I don't love you, George..."

the drunkard was still talking while clutching the bottle.

Sheng Jiaoyang sighed again. She shouldn't interfere in matters of the heart; everything had to be decided by the beautiful girl herself.

The next day.

When Sheng Jiaoyang opened her eyes and didn't see the pretty girl, she immediately woke up. She walked out of the bedroom and saw Lin Na busy in the open kitchen.

"Good morning, Little Sun!" Lin Na greeted Sheng Jiaoyang with a smile, clearly in a good mood.

Sheng Jiaoyang leaned against the cupboard, observing Lin Na. The pretty girl looked exceptionally different today; her makeup was meticulously done, and her clothes were perfectly ironed. Seeing her like this, it was impossible to imagine how dramatic she had been last night. She didn't seem like someone crying over a breakup; she seemed more like someone newly in love, brimming with energy.

"It's been so long since I've had your breakfast," Sheng Jiaoyang said nostalgically.

"Go wash up, you'll be eating soon."

"Okay."

Sheng Jiaoyang smiled and turned to brush her teeth and wash her face in the bathroom.

Speaking of which, although Lin Na didn't hide her fiery temper from Sheng Jiaoyang, she was actually quite skilled in cooking, a million times better than Sheng Jiaoyang's disastrous culinary attempts.

During breakfast, neither of them mentioned drinking the previous night.

As the two were washing dishes together, they heard the doorbell ring.

Sheng Jiaoyang looked at Lin Na, wondering who could be coming to her house so early in the morning? An assistant?

Lin Na also looked at Sheng Jiaoyang, her eyes telling her it definitely wasn't an assistant.

"I'll go open the door." Lin Na took off her gloves and went to open the

door. She opened it a crack, but as soon as she saw who it was, she slammed it shut again.

"..." Sheng Jiaoyang.

What was going on? Could it be George?

Just as Sheng Jiaoyang was wondering, a voice came from outside.

"Nana, open the door!"

Sheng Jiaoyang finally understood what Lin Na meant by closing the door and glancing in her direction.

Standing outside the door was Lin Yan.

Lin Na was well aware of her feelings for Lin Yan.

"Open the door," Sheng Jiaoyang said. At this moment, she finally knew who had called last night.

Lin Yan cared for his younger sister Lin Na more than Aunt Lin cared for her. It wasn't surprising that Lin Yan had rushed over to see her this morning after hearing Lin Na's emotional breakdown on the phone last night.

Lin Na glanced at Sheng Jiaoyang worriedly and opened the door.

Lin Yan walked in, immediately surveying the house. His gaze paused when he saw Sheng Jiaoyang washing dishes.

Lin Na stepped aside, blocking Lin Yan's view of Sheng Jiaoyang, and asked rudely, "Why are you here?"

"To see you," Lin Yan replied calmly.

"I'm perfectly fine. What's there to see?" Lin Na retorted.

Lin Yan didn't care about Lin Na's rude attitude. He gently pushed her aside and walked towards the kitchen.

Lin Na's expression changed, but then she suddenly remembered that her little sun had changed, and it seemed there was nothing to worry about.

"Thank you for taking care of Nana last night," Lin Yan said, stopping to address the person washing dishes with her back to him.

Sheng Jiaoyang finished washing the last bowl, took off her gloves, and then slowly turned to face Lin Yan.

The person before her still possessed features so exquisite that she felt an urge to draw them; the clear, aloof air in her eyes carried a coldness that kept people at a distance. Before, even with all the advantages, she hadn't been able to win him over. Now, although she still harbored that desire, the urge to recklessly pursue him had gradually subsided after the recent ups and downs.

"No need to thank me. Taking care of a beauty is my duty,"

Lin Yan said, his expression slightly changing. He glanced at Lin Na; only one person had ever called Lin Na "beauty."

Lin Na immediately understood what Lin Yan was thinking. Seeing that Sheng Jiaoyang could still calmly face Lin Yan, she said with a hint of amusement, "That's right, who's to me, Jiaojiao or I?"

"Jiaojiao?" Lin Yan's gaze sharpened.

“Oh right, I forgot to introduce her, her name is Xu Jiaojiao, she’s my friend!” Lin Na looked at Lin Yan, her smile full of malice.

“How come I’ve never seen her before?”

“That’s right, Jiaojiao and I hit it off immediately.”

Lin Yan nodded, no longer looking at Sheng Jiaoyang, and only asked Lin Na, “What happened to you last night?”

“What do you mean, what happened? I just had a good time meeting Jiaojiao and we drank a little, what could have happened!”

Seeing that Lin Yan was about to say something, Lin Na said impatiently, “What else do you need? I still need to take Jiaojiao back to the program site.”

“I’ll take you…”

“No need, we’re leaving first, remember to close the door for me.” Lin Na waved to Sheng Jiaoyang and picked up her bag.

As Sheng Jiaoyang left, she looked back at Lin Yan and met his scrutinizing gaze.

She lowered her eyes and followed Lin Na.
