Rebirth of the Fashion Queen
Chapter Ten Who are you?
Upon entering the training room, Sheng Jiaoyang was somewhat disappointed not to see the beautiful Lin Na.
She wasn't the only one hoping to see Lin Na; the others had also rushed over eagerly to catch a glimpse of their idol. However, after everyone arrived, it was the training instructors arranged by the organizers who entered.
"Where's Lina? Isn't Lina coming?" someone asked anxiously.
"Lina will be here this afternoon," the instructor said. "I'm your posture instructor. This lesson will mainly focus on adjusting your posture. Now, please stand facing the mirror, leaning against the armrests."
The contestants were all somewhat disappointed, but with cameras monitoring the area, they didn't dare show their emotions too much.
"Straighten your body, chest out, stomach in..."
"Open your shoulders, neck, back, and heels, they should be in a straight line..."
"Lift your necks up, revealing your swan-like necks, look straight ahead..."
Before they knew it, the morning had passed.
After a fashion show and nearly an hour of posture training, everyone was starving. When the posture instructor announced the end of class, they all breathed a sigh of relief.
After lunch, the contestants finally saw Lin Na again.
Lin Na had changed her clothes. Now she wore a black one-shoulder jumpsuit, her hair tied in a low ponytail. The outfit was simple yet sophisticated; she exuded confidence just by standing there. She was like a beautiful sight, attracting everyone's attention.
Some girls were already excitedly screaming softly.
After a while, Sheng Jiaoyang calmed down. She looked at Lin Na, her eyes filled with joy.
"I won't waste any more time on small talk. Let me explain the key points of catwalk training. Now, stand in a V-shape."
Lin Na began to direct them directly. After the contestants were in position as she instructed, she began to explain her catwalk experience in a calm and unhurried tone. As she spoke, she also demonstrated the corresponding movements, walking back and forth several times within the V-shaped space formed by the contestants.
"Alright, I've told you everything I know. How much you understand is entirely up to you. Now I'll check your progress," Lin Na's gaze shifted, finally settling on one person. "Jiaojiao, come here. Walk over to me from your spot."
The others' eyes immediately turned to her, filled with envy and jealousy. Lin Na hadn't even asked anyone's name, yet she remembered this person and called her so intimately.
Those overthinking things naturally didn't know that Lin Na's intimate address was simply because she couldn't remember the girl's last name. The only things she remembered were that her name was the same as Xiao Taiyang's nickname, and that her catwalk style resembled theirs.
"Take off your glasses. Even during training, you should get used to not wearing glasses. If you really can't see clearly, get contact lenses," Lin Na reminded her, gesturing with her chin.
Sheng Jiaoyang blinked, feeling the attention of everyone, and obediently took off her glasses, blurring the surrounding people.
Having located the pretty girl, she walked over with her catwalk.
"Wow, she walks just like Lina!" someone exclaimed softly.
Sheng Jiaoyang stopped when she could clearly see the beautiful woman's face. Although she was still a little shorter than Lina, it was close to her usual height, which was quite a novelty for her, as she had always looked up at Lina before. Sheng Jiaoyang looked
at the aloof Lina, her eyes crinkling into a smile, and said softly, "Beautiful girl, I missed you." Lina
paused, her gaze suddenly sharpening. She stared at the girl in front of her and uttered a phrase in Italian.
Everyone found it strange; why did Lina suddenly say something they couldn't understand? Just because
others didn't understand didn't mean Sheng Jiaoyang couldn't. Although languages weren't her forte, having spent so much time in Europe, she could still communicate normally in several common languages.
Hearing Lina's swear word, Sheng Jiaoyang chuckled.
To translate what the beautiful woman had just said, it was something like:
"Damn, who are you?"
No one would think this was the correct translation. In the public eye, Lin Na was a goddess embodying beauty, elegance, and aloofness. Only Sheng Jiaoyang knew that this was all an illusion; the girl was actually a tomboy who could beat boys from a young age and would swear when she got angry.
It seemed that what she had said had already infuriated her.
Yes, in this situation, who would believe that the stranger standing in front of them was actually their best friend? The first reaction would be to think there was something wrong with her.
"I am..."
"Knock knock." Accompanied by a knock, a blonde, blue-eyed woman pushed open the door and strode in.
The person was Lin Na's personal assistant, Sudan.
Sudan hurriedly walked to Lin Na's side and rattled off a few words. After Sudan uttered her first sentence, Lin Na's expression changed. Before she could finish, Lin Na turned and walked out of the training room.
"What happened?" Many people were puzzled.
Sheng Jiaoyang's expression had also changed the moment Sudan uttered her first sentence. The girl's mother had an accident and was currently being rushed to the hospital.
What exactly had happened?
Sheng Jiaoyang was very familiar with Mei Niu's mother, Lin. After she returned to China, Aunt Lin had sent her handmade sachets and special paints. In her memory, Aunt Lin was an exceptionally beautiful and gentle woman, possessing a delicate beauty reminiscent of the Jiangnan water towns, a beauty tempered with a wise and understanding nature. Every smile and gesture was like a painting, something to be treasured.
Although Lin Na had a fiery temper, Aunt Lin's personality was exceptionally good; she couldn't find anyone gentler than Aunt Lin.
"Lina probably won't be giving us any more guidance," said Luo Yi, the captain of the short skirt team.
"Why?"
"What did Lina's assistant just say?"
"Did you understand everything?"
The others crowded around, bombarding her with questions.
Luo Yi shrugged and said, "I heard the gist of it. I understood the first sentence completely; it said Lina's mother had an accident."
"Ah? No wonder Lina's face turned so pale."
"Captain, you're amazing! I had no idea what she was saying, but you understood everything."
"Did you understand what Lina said just now?" Someone remembered the sentence Lina had uttered that they couldn't understand.
"She wasn't speaking English, and I don't know what she said." Luo Yi shrugged.
"Jiaojiao, Lina was talking to you. I saw you laugh after you heard it. Did you understand what she was saying?" Xiao Yang's words drew everyone's attention to Sheng Jiaoyang again.
"Who are you?"
"Hey, why are you acting like this? Yang Bao asked you politely, and if you don't want to answer, fine, but why are you talking to me like that?" Before Xiao Yang could react, his friends jumped in to defend him.
"Exactly!"
"So what if Lina singled her out? What's the big deal!"
Suddenly, Sheng Jiaoyang became the target of everyone's criticism.
Sheng Jiaoyang chuckled and said, "Didn't you want to know what Lina meant? That's what it means."
Uh...
The training room fell silent instantly.
Everyone looked at each other, clearly not expecting the truth to be like this.
"You didn't translate it wrong, did you?" someone questioned.
Sheng Jiaoyang glanced at them, turned around, and leaned against the armrest, ignoring them completely.
A person of status being aloof is classy; a person without status being aloof is just being unsociable. Clearly, to the contestants, Sheng Jiaoyang was the latter.
The others consciously avoided her; in other words, she was isolated.
Soon, the organizers arrived.
"That concludes today's training. Lina has had a family emergency and has already headed to the airport. Take your luggage and follow the staff onto the bus; they'll take you to your accommodations."
"Will Lina come back?" Sheng Jiaoyang couldn't help but ask.
"That's not your question. You'll know when she returns."
Sheng Jiaoyang's gaze darkened, and she fell silent.
On the bus, Sheng Jiaoyang found a window seat and closed her eyes to rest.
"Hi!" Someone sat down next to her.
Sheng Jiaoyang opened her eyes and glanced over, seeing Luo Yi, the captain of another team, smiling at her.
"I believe what you said before." Luo Yi winked at Sheng Jiaoyang.
"And then?" Sheng Jiaoyang raised an eyebrow.
Luo Yi glanced around and asked in a low voice, "Can you tell me what you said to Lina that caused such a big reaction?"
Sheng Jiaoyang also lowered his voice, but with a hint of teasing, "Guess?"
"Uh..." Luo Yi choked for a moment, then said coquettishly, "Don't be like that, we're supposed to be friends!"
Sheng Jiaoyang chuckled and said, "I told her I know a secret about you."
"What secret?" Luo Yi's eyes widened. "
It's a secret." Sheng Jiaoyang winked at Luo Yi, mysteriously refusing to say more.
This piqued Luo Yi's interest, but no matter how she tried to get information out of him, he wouldn't take the bait.
To find out this secret, Luo Yi stayed close to Sheng Jiaoyang even after getting off the bus.
"When did those two become so close?"
"Luo Yi is our team captain, how can she be so close to someone from their team?"
"Exactly."
The other contestants whispered among themselves.
"Clap clap!" The sound of clapping came from the front.
The contestants all looked over and saw the villa door open automatically, revealing the people inside.
The young man, of average height but not particularly tall, dressed casually, simply stood there and immediately drew everyone's attention.
"Wow~, it's Zhuo Yiyan!"
"So handsome, he's practically my ideal man!"
"My god—"
Fangirls are everywhere, but here they were especially numerous.
Standing amidst a group of girls showering her with praise, Sheng Jiaoyang felt a shy, forced infatuation.
But, someone clearly forgot, she was just as capable of being a fangirl herself.
Who in the world doesn't have a crush? It's just that she hadn't reached the point of obsession yet. She didn't feel that overwhelming, captivating gaze, simply because Zhuo Yiyan hadn't struck a chord with her.
Zhuo Yiyan looked at the excited contestants and smiled, opening his arms wide.
"Girls, welcome! This is where you will be living for the next two weeks. You can call it the Supermodel House."
