Chapter Thirty-Nine: Fell into the Sea

Finally, it was time for the photos.

Huang Linying went first, half-lying on the yacht's roof, constantly striking poses.

David's brows were furrowed.

He had to move Huang Linying to the deck railing for her photos.

Actually, Huang Linying had fought her way into the top 13 from so many people; she shouldn't be performing so poorly. The main problem was that the specific environment limited her thinking; she felt that on a yacht, she should take photos in a certain way. But there's no set formula for photography. The key is to blend into the environment while also standing out, making sure the photographer's attention is immediately drawn to you.

As time passed, Huang Linying's performance worsened. The photographer's repeated rejections revealed her tension and pressure in her demeanor.

"No, we can't waste any more time. There's still one person to photograph, and the sun is almost gone," Zhuo Yiyan said to David, looking at the sun about to set.

David nodded in agreement.

"But..." Huang Linying was very anxious.

"You have one last minute. If it's still not good enough, then there's nothing I can do but choose one from the photos before yours," Zhuo Yiyan said.

Huang Linying bit her lip, forced to take the photo.

One minute was really short, and the photographer didn't get a satisfactory picture.

Finally, it was Sheng Jiaoyang

's turn. Sheng Jiaoyang stood at the spot where Huang Linying had taken her photo, her hands lightly resting on the railing, the sea breeze making her short, silver-gray hair a little messy.

"Okay, get ready," Dawei reminded her.

Sheng Jiaoyang turned to the side, the afterglow of the setting sun enveloping her. She looked at the camera at an angle, her gaze calm, her posture natural and relaxed, a few stray strands of hair falling across her forehead, both casual and beautiful. Because her hairstyle was too messy, she seemed a little impatient. She raised her left hand and swept the stray hairs flying across her forehead behind her head, slightly raising her chin. The curve of her neck from her chin to her beautiful collarbone was just right. Because of this slight upward tilt, her gaze towards the camera was slightly downward, and her expression immediately changed, carrying a hint of arrogance and wildness.

David pressed the shutter, quickly capturing the moment.

"Okay, got it! Xu Jiaojiao, you're amazing!" David praised without reservation, especially with Huang Linying, who only knew how to pose, in front of him, which made the contestant's talent and charisma stand out even more.

Taking photos on a yacht is always a good idea, because the environment itself has some very picturesque elements. You don't need to pose too much; a strong look and a little energetic movement can make you stand out.

Zhuo Yiyan nodded in agreement, having to admit that Xu Jiaojiao was indeed a gifted contestant. Her adaptability and observation skills were exceptional; she could quickly grasp the characteristics of her surroundings and use them to her advantage.

Sheng Jiaoyang leaned against the railing, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"I feel like all our skin has been exposed for nothing. She can get photos so quickly without showing anything; we're completely outclassed," Wang Wei exclaimed.

"Jiaojiao's control over her environment is getting stronger and stronger," Luo Yi said, giving Sheng Jiaoyang a deep look. This was her strongest rival on the road to victory.

"Yeah, it's really frustrating to compare yourself to others. She's also a top student!" Pu Mingyu said with a hint of admiration.

While the contestants around were discussing with various emotions, another spectator had already approached Sheng Jiaoyang.

"Xu Jiaojiao, how come you have such a good sense of the camera? You haven't taken many photos before," Ning Xiaoruan said, finding the girl mysterious and eager to explore her.

Sheng Jiaoyang glanced lazily at Ning Xiaoruan, chuckled, and remained silent.

Ning Xiaoruan's heart itched even more at that glance. Looking at her up close, he realized how beautiful she truly was. Even though he preferred Western beauties with deep-set eyes and high noses, he had to admit this girl was somewhat alluring, especially her languid and nonchalant gaze.

"I'm telling you, I didn't kidnap you that day. It was all Nan-ge's idea. I didn't offend you, and I even took you home. Why are you treating me like this?"

She was so kind to others, chatting and laughing, and especially gentle with Xiong Zai. Why was she so disdainful towards him? Was he even less than a dog?

Sheng Jiaoyang turned his head, looking at Ning Xiaoruan with a half-smile: "So, should I thank you?"

"Don't bother with empty words like 'thank you.' How about you treat me to a meal?" Ning Xiaoruan said matter-of-factly.

"..." He'd never seen anyone so presumptuous!

"Don't have money? You can owe me some, I'm not the kind of person who's heartless, you..."

"Get lost, you idiot!" Sheng Jiaoyang couldn't take it anymore. She straightened up and prepared to go back to the cabin to change her clothes.

Ning Xiaoruan reached out and grabbed Sheng Jiaoyang. He had been holed up on the island for two days, and he had finally found someone to talk to, so he wasn't going to let her go.

Sheng Jiaoyang flung her hand away. She was much stronger now than before, and with a flick of her wrist, she shook Ning Xiaoruan's hand off. The force of the shake even caused Ning Xiaoruan to take a step back and hit the railing. The

waves were big in the evening, and the yacht was traveling at a fast speed on the way back. A big wave crashed over, and the yacht happened to lurch. Ning Xiaoruan, who had half her body over the railing, was thrown overboard.

Xiong Zai, who was lying on the deck, suddenly stood up and barked in their direction.

When Sheng Jiaoyang heard the "plop," she was startled. Grabbing the railing, she turned and shouted to the production crew, "Someone's fallen into the sea! Stop immediately! Those of you who can swim, go save them!"

Hearing this, the crew quickly told the yacht crew to stop. At this moment, the two lifeguards on standby on the yacht were put to use. They donned life jackets and rushed into the sea to rescue the person. The

deep blue sea was rippling with waves as the lifeguards swam towards the struggling drowning person.

Sheng Jiaoyang watched the struggling figure, listening to Xiongzai's barking beside him, and felt a pang of unease. Who would have thought that a mere flick of the wrist would send someone flying into the sea? Ning Xiaoruan was far too frail!

"What just happened?" Zhuo Yiyan walked over and asked Sheng Jiaoyang. He had been discussing the photos with Dawei and hadn't noticed what was happening.

The contestants all gathered around.

"Xu Jiaojiao, even if you two had a fight, you didn't have to be so heartless as to push your boyfriend into the sea, did you?" said one of the contestants who had witnessed the scene.

"What?! Xu Jiaojiao pushed him into the sea?"

"How could she do that? It's so dangerous!"

"Yes, yes."

Zhuo Yiyan frowned, looking at Sheng Jiaoyang seriously. "Xu Jiaojiao, don't bring your personal emotional entanglements to the show. Do you know how much trouble this will cause us?"

Sheng Jiaoyang took a deep breath and said expressionlessly, "First, I need to clarify two things: one, he's not my boyfriend! Two, I didn't push him in."

"I saw it all. He grabbed your hand, you waved your hand, and he fell into the sea." The contestant who witnessed it insisted.

"He's back!" someone who had been watching the sea shouted.

Everyone looked over, and sure enough, the lifeguard was swimming back with a half-dead person.

"Quickly lend a hand and bring him up."

Several strong staff members rushed forward to help and brought the unconscious person up.

Everyone's attention was focused on the rescue, and no one saw the other yacht approaching in the distance.

On the luxury yacht, a tall man holding a small pair of binoculars startled him when he saw the drowning man being lifted out of the water by the lifeguard. He turned to the man sitting in a chair, eyes closed, and said, "Boss, Peter's in trouble."

The man abruptly opened his eyes, a cold glint in his dark pupils.
