Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito
Chapter 2937 - 4: Jia Yan, the Slacker Waiting for Death?
A planet is just a planet. Even what they call mountainous terrain, to a creature hundreds of meters tall, is just a tiny scenic mountain forest. You could say the environment is pretty nice.
"This place isn’t bad. I’ll pick here."
Jia Yan settled down there.
And the creature who’d brought Jia Yan over looked thoroughly displeased.
What do you mean ’isn’t bad’?
Ordinary Semi-permanent Star Level existences still have to squeeze in with other Semi-permanent Star Level existences. You, alone, are basically getting Stellar treatment, and you still just say it’s ’not bad’.
He didn’t bother saying much more to Jia Yan, just gave a perfunctory farewell and flew off.
"Heh, got a bit of a temper, huh."
Jia Yan chuckled.
He didn’t even enter the gigantic building that had been arranged for him. After glancing around and seeing no one paying attention his way, he simply retreated straight into the Subspace Interior.
Hum.
Inside Subspace, there was a being far larger than any creature on this planet, waiting within.
"Just now my Avatar specially exchanged for a few Energy Stones used for Cultivation that are unique to this Starfield. Let’s see how they look."
Jia Yan took out one of the Energy Stones his Avatar had carried in.
He was using his True Body to test it on purpose, just so his perception would be that much clearer.
After only a few minutes, he trembled slightly.
"As expected, this Energy Stone is much, much better than the ones outside. So this is the extension of this Harmonious Starfield’s unique social capabilities?"
Jia Yan could feel how formidable this Energy Stone was. Even though he had only exchanged for a few high-grade Energy Stones, not yet the Special Energy Stones this Harmonious Starfield was most proud of, even these high-grade ones were already enough for him to carry out Cultivation.
"So in the Central Star Domain of the Milky way, every Starfield really does have its own specialties, surprises everywhere."
Jia Yan sighed. In truth he hadn’t visited many Starfields, but every single one had something that surprised him. That was the astonishing part of the Central Star Domain of the Milky way.
Besides, he also understood that in the Central Star Domain of the Milky way, Starfields this weak weren’t unassailable; it was just that many Strong Ones were weighing whether it was worth the effort.
For example, Harmonious Starfield might constantly suffer bullying and pressure from the outside, yet Starfields that truly wanted to annex it weren’t that many. Of course, there were some, but external forces were there providing checks and balances.
The reason was simple: anyone could see that the foundation for Harmonious Starfield’s development in manufacturing and technology came from its society. This wasn’t an insight unique to Jia Yan; in fact, basically everyone could see it.
So here’s the question: if Harmonious Starfield were annexed by another Starfield, could it still maintain the developmental capabilities it has today? Obviously not.
In that case, rather than annexing it only to have Harmonious Starfield regress and even turn into a small burden that drags your own Starfield back, it’s better to let them develop on their own while just pressing their prices down a bit. For other Starfields, that’s already a very good deal. There’s even the situation where if any Starfield wants to set its sights on Harmonious Starfield, many surrounding Starfields will rise up together against it, or at least do their best to stir up a vortex around the issue.
"Heh, seems I shouldn’t think others are fools. Anything I can think of, who wouldn’t be able to think of it?"
Jia Yan teased himself a little, looked at the tiny Energy Stone at his feet, and tossed it into his mouthparts.
It was way too small. He’d bought a piece about ten meters by ten meters. For Semi-permanent Star Level Strong Ones, that was normal. But for a Monster that had reached thirty kilometers in size, with mouthpart needles tens of meters wide, ten by ten meters was nothing.
"I’m just tasting it, getting a feel for it, that’s all."
Jia Yan shook his head.
Such a small piece couldn’t have even the slightest effect on him.
Yet he could already sense that if he had more Energy Stones like this, or swapped them for those so-called Special Energy Stones, wouldn’t he gain enormous benefit?
For Jia Yan, this sort of thing was tremendously tempting.
"Very good. If I hang around here a while, and get firmly established, then in this patch of Starry Sky I can start trying to gather more of those Special Energy Stones."
Jia Yan nodded. He was quite satisfied with setting down here in this Starry Sky; it was weak, yet produced excellent goods. For him, it was practically the most wonderful foothold in the Central Star Domain of the Milky way.
Once he’d finished trying it out, his Avatar immediately withdrew from Subspace.
Hum.
In the Sub-space external, the torn opening rapidly sealed shut.
Watching his Avatar leave like that, the True Body slowly closed its eyes, and sank deeper into Subspace.
Even if that Sect Master of Lin An Sect was weak and unguarded, if another Middle Level Existence in Star River stayed too long in Shallow Space, he would still notice.
For now it was fine; presumably even if he sensed something, it would only be faint traces.
"Hmm?"
Just as Jia Yan sank into Subspace and his Avatar tore the sub-space to depart, not far from this planet, the Sect Master of Lin An Sect grew slightly solemn.
He wasn’t an idiot. Someone was tearing the sub-space right by his side—how could he possibly be completely unaware?
"Ah, that Jia Yan... well then. Looks like either his True Body is nearby, or his Avatar’s Battleship is parked in Subspace Interior. An existence with Subspace Talent... his combat power is definitely a bit stronger than an ordinary being of the same level."
Even this Sect Master was feeling envious. Although he didn’t know how strong a Strong One Jia Yan’s True Body really was, he did know that once someone had Subspace Talent, then even if Jia Yan was only a Subspace Early stage existence whose combat power was on par with his, in terms of escape Ability he would still be far superior.
