Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 2944 - 7: You Can’t Afford Me

  • Next Chapter

Perhaps external strong ones may face a shortage of resources, or their advancement may be slow, but there is one thing that the strong ones here can’t enjoy, and that is the true feeling of being strong.

In their presence here, even Semi-permanent Star level beings feel like small fry. When Jia Yan was at the Semi-permanent Star level, he was already reigning supreme over on the Orion Arm.

The pattern of both sides differs, but each has its pros and cons. At least as strong ones who have matured in the external world, they are definitely stronger in the heart of a strong one.

Buzz.

Within the subspace interior, Jia Yan himself is unaware that he has become the king of topics on Lin Anxing, even the Stellar level beings are discussing him.

He only occasionally glances at the merchandise while passing through some starfields.

If he missed something like adhesives, he felt it would be his loss.

However, quite unexpectedly, as Jia Yan searched around, he found some good items, and amusingly, in one power territory, he discovered something almost identical in effect to glue but in conflict with cymbals-made materials.

"The price is similar, the effect is similar too. After asking them, they said that since I’ve already used glue, the effect of their cymbals-made material is nullified, meaning there’s a conflict..."

Jia Yan suddenly realized many things.

It’s not that others were unaware of these methods, it’s just that there are so many solutions to problems, and anyone can get confused.

Jia Yan also saw some thing said to make metal bones harder, though it doesn’t strengthen much, and was deathly expensive, he still bought a little and then painted one of the new armors with it, as if brushing paint.

In the end, as he reached the final stage, his armor had changed appearance.

And Jia Yan chuckled wryly.

"Looking at the cost, the price of a disposable armor suddenly jumped to one-fifth of the full version. If I were to buy a full version and operate some reinforcing parts on it, the price would be ten times of this version, but the full version can last longer..."

He felt like it was like online shopping on Earth, where bit by bit things accumulate to become big money.

"Not buying anymore, next time really cutting hand."

He found it exceedingly amusing.

Feeling as he glanced again, he might find a slightly better adhesive and want to replace it, but replacing it wouldn’t be worthwhile. Then he might go buy disposable armor again, and assemble a full set, spending more money than this time, only to find areas for upgrades next...

By the time he almost sorted it out, not only would it drag down his cultivation but he guessed he would be close to promotion, and once the disposable armor was fully assembled, it still wouldn’t be used. The best place then would be sending it to a second-hand auction house at a huge loss and uncertain if it would sell.

"Haha, I somewhat understand many compulsory shoppers’ mentality, always wanting the best, yet always buying without satisfaction."

He restrained his thoughts of crazy shopping.

Inside the Lin An Sect.

Buzz.

A faint shadow appeared directly within the planet of Lin An Sect.

"Hmm? Who?"

The Sect Master suddenly felt something was wrong and hurriedly swept his Brainwave Power over, intending to directly burst into action if it were an enemy.

"It’s me, Sect Master."

A cold voice emerged in that shadowy place.

"Jia Yan?"

The Sect Master was already overhead, but upon seeing this figure without much change in expression, he directly restrained his attack.

This scene was witnessed by many.

They were immensely shocked. The Sect Master wasn’t even aware of Jia Yan’s return, almost intending to attack.

Facing an attack and hostility from a Star River level presence, Jia Yan was remarkably unafraid?

Could it be true, the rumors of him being an avatar of the Star river level?

With various thoughts in mind, once the Lin An Sect’s Sect Master directly released Brainwave Power to isolate all external connections and spying eyes, they dared not think wildly anymore.

No matter if Jia Yan is an avatar of a Star River level existence, such a great figure is beyond their ability to spy.

If Jia Yan isn’t, then at most it proves he is arrogant, but if he is, daring to watch him would be risky. Offending a Star River level being, even in this starry sky, isn’t something that legal means could easily resolve.

Within that Brainwave Power-controlled area, the Sect Master directly landed.

He found out that even though he released all of his Brainwave Power throughout this land, meaning Jia Yan’s entire body was wrapped in his Brainwave Power, Jia Yan still was not afraid.

This discovery confirmed Jia Yan’s identity for him.

"Returned?"

"Mission accomplished without disgrace."

Jia Yan and the Sect Master smiled as they conversed.

He minded not at all being discovered, with so many Star River level avatars roaming the earth, one more of him is not too many.

"Mister Jia Yan, can you tell me your true identity? What is your true power level?"

The Sect Master ventured probing.

He was afraid Jia Yan might not answer directly.

If it is just a strong being, having recognized it, there would be no hiding.

Jia Yan did not intend to hide.

He simply raised his head, looked at the towering figure of the Sect Master near twenty kilometers high like a mountain beside him, and continued to smile.

Yet his words made the Sect Master’s entire blood seem to freeze.

"My power level? Stronger than you."

Stronger than you.

Just these three words froze the entire Sect Master on the spot.

He calmed down slightly, then nodded slowly.

"I understand, Mister Jia Yan, may I ask what do you intend to do within my territory? Also, is your... true body here?"

"I am only passing through, to be honest, I’m a bit short on money and Energy, hence using this avatar to work. As for where my true body is, that I can’t tell you."

Jia Yan’s answer contained no deceit, only withholding where his true body was.

This was perfectly normal. Every strong being has enemies or concerns and wouldn’t reveal the whereabouts of their true body to an unfamiliar existence easily.

If a strong being was injured, admitting it could easily lead to being hunted down by enemies.

This is common sense that the Sect Master probably hadn’t mixed much externally, thus didn’t understand such strong being etiquette.

Of course, it’s more likely he deliberately said so, as a probe.

"I understand, Lord Jia Yan, then I’d like to ask, if possible... could our Lin An Sect afford to invite your true body?"

The Sect Master took a deep breath and tentatively asked.

This question might not indicate a true intention to invite, because rashly inviting a strong being stronger than himself to join, what becomes of his authority as Sect Master?

And who takes the sect’s profit?

And what if the strong being harbors ill intentions?

Of course, if there truly was a Super Powerhouse only looking for money, they’re immensely useful, someone stronger than the Sect Master, no matter the Star River Middle Stage or Early Stage, within the sect’s service period could help tremendously, potentially doubling the sect’s profit and territory.

That’s putting powerful effects to good use.

Thus, the Sect Master was both conflicted and expectant.

Regrettably, Jia Yan’s cold response made his conflict unnecessary.

Because his answer was a shake of the head.

"You can’t afford it."

"Ah, then pardon me, with the Semi-permanent Star level task just completed, you rest more."

The Sect Master nodded and directly flew away.

Neither of them discussed Jia Yan being an avatar of a strong being yet engaged in combat with the Semi-permanent Star level of other forces. Is this good or bad?

At least the Lin An Sect finds no fault in it; a Star River level using an avatar to bully the weaker, if others knew, they wouldn’t mock the Lin An Sect, for they were unaware.

The loss of face falls on the strong being himself.
