Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 2950 - 10: Disguised as an Elder

  • Next Chapter

Suddenly, a voice like a little girl’s sounded behind the group of farmers.

"What way?"

"Oh, it’s Little Billy from Ai’s Family. You’re just a kid, what way could you have? Don’t butt in. We’re leaving tomorrow."

The one speaking was a tiny girl who looked like a rabbit. Unfortunately, she was far too young, only a bit over twenty years old, and no one was willing to believe her.

In the Central Galaxy, being just over twenty felt like being five or six on Earth in the past. No one would ever believe a child that young could say anything insightful.

"Uuu, none of you believe me."

Little Billy was just an ordinary creature. She was only in her early twenties, still a little toddler, unable to engage in Cultivation, so her strength wasn’t even at Earth Level.

Angry, she ran all over the small asteroid.

Then she hid under a green plant more than ten meters tall, utterly heartbroken.

This plant was the main crop they grew. It absorbed sunlight and would grow into an extremely tall, high-yield plant. The produce could be eaten by star creatures of many Levels, and had excellent nutritional and Cultivation value.

"I’m sorry. I didn’t help you, and now you can only stay as these little sprouts."

Little Billy hugged the ten-plus-meter-tall green plant, and actually called it just a little sprout.

"Normally, this kind of plant can grow to nearly a hundred meters tall and bear fruit as big as the room I live in. Each fruit can feed me for a month or two. It’s a shame you probably won’t grow that big this time."

Little Billy had deep feelings for the plants.

She didn’t notice that while she was talking to herself, a figure in the Space around her was slowly approaching.

"So even here they’re having a total crop failure problem?"

Jia Yan, within the subspace layer, calmly watched the creatures outside.

To him, this tiny planet, with a diameter of only three to four hundred kilometers, had residents whose strongest were just at Star Space Level, and the weak weren’t even at Earth Level. He had no worries at all about being noticed.

He simply approached these so-called ’villagers’ to get a sense of the situation here.

"So it’s that their Stellar Energy collectors malfunctioned? I see. The Stellar Energy collectors are the source of all Energy for this small asteroid; even the plants are supported by Energy from those distant Stellar bodies."

Anything Jia Yan wanted to know could easily be found through information on the net, so very quickly he sorted out the problems on this small asteroid.

A Commerce Association caravan, rampaging around trying to save on route distance and Energy consumption, chose to fly through this region. They not only violated regulations, they also destroyed more than half of the Stellar Energy collectors that had been set up outside this small planet—the very devices that were their lifeline.

And then, naturally, not to mention the plants becoming hard to sustain, even the Energy for daily life was on the verge of failing.

You have to understand, on this kind of asteroid, it’s not just crops: even lighting, and countless aspects of everyday life, all rely on Energy. That Energy comes from Stellar solar power routinely collected.

But now, the people on this little planet were being driven into a dead end.

"Places like this are exactly where I’m best suited to develop. Even when they suffer unjust treatment, no one stands up for them. Or rather, their information exchange with the outside world is so blocked that no one comes to deal with their situation. If I want to establish a temporary starting point for development, isn’t this the perfect spot?"

Jia Yan smiled.

"As for these Stellar Energy collectors... they’re actually quite simple."

Jia Yan moved.

He had no intention of paying out of his own pocket to buy new collectors for these farmers; even if you have money, that’s not how you use it.

Up in the Starry Sky, an old, turtle-like creature, two hundred meters in size, appeared in the Starry Outer World.

"What is that?"

"A very old Monster!"

"At two hundred meters, that has to be a Respect-Level Being at least."

"What’s such a powerful creature doing on our little asteroid? Is it here to loot us while we’re down?"

"Damn it, if it wants to loot, it’s picked the wrong place. We’re already at the end of our rope. Even if it tries to loot us, there’s nothing to take."

"No, I don’t think so. Judging by this creature’s aura and how old it looks, it shouldn’t do that kind of thing."

"H-h-he, look, what’s it doing? It seems to be collecting the fragments of our broken Energy collectors out in the Starry Sky."

"Yeah, the collectors are only broken; it’s not like they’re beyond repair. With so many small machines, patching and piecing them together makes it easy to assemble a lot of working ones..."

"Exactly, this elder is actually helping us."

"What a good person. But we can’t let a good person labor alone; we have to rely on ourselves, go up and help."

"Use ships to get up there. Our strength is nowhere near his; if we flew into the Starry Sky directly we’d never survive."

This group of farmer creatures, upon discovering that the old turtle creature was out beyond the sky helping them gather the remains of the Stellar Energy collectors, and even connecting good components from different damaged collectors together to assemble usable ones, suddenly had tears in their eyes.

On this insignificant small planet, they were just unremarkable farmers. In this incident, no big figures from any faction spoke up for them. That caravan from the Commerce Association hadn’t paid them a single cent, just swaggered off.

They’d even assumed they’d become the most neglected group of paupers in this Starry Sky, with a future where they might not even survive.

But unexpectedly, there was still someone willing to lend them a hand.

And it was a Respect-Level Being. For farmers like them, a Respect-Level Being was already a huge big shot.

Someone of that stature could serve as a minor boss in a caravan, yet they had actually come to this sparsely populated small asteroid and were helping them clean up the Stellar Energy collectors—truly a massive good deed.

At once, the farmers below started launching their ramshackle ships.

On a small asteroid with a diameter of three to four hundred kilometers, quite a number of farmers actually lived here. For weak creatures, they weren’t very large in size; the strongest Star Space Level ones were only a few dozen meters tall. Living on this asteroid was plenty.

Each of them piloted their own ship, and some were so broken they couldn’t even properly start up. They tried to lift off, only to stall and fall back onto the ground.

"Lord, thank you for stepping in."

"Sir, please don’t tire yourself out. This is our business, and we should be doing it ourselves."

The ships managed to take off, but their Level was too low; they simply couldn’t operate properly in that environment. This was also why they hadn’t been able to repair things themselves.

The turtle creature was, of course, Jia Yan’s Avatar.

He did his best to make himself look even older, hunching his body and smiling faintly.

He replied in a slow and gentle tone.

"Hehe, this old man can’t stand seeing something like this. What’s hard for you is just a flick of the wrist for me. Don’t worry, I’ll handle this for you to the end. We’ll take it slow."

Jia Yan controlled the Avatar to move slowly, but with Brainwave Power helping, a single wave of his hand would send distant Stellar Energy controllers flying to him. Then Jia Yan would use the turtle’s feet to work on them—dismantling where needed, merging where needed—and very quickly, undamaged units appeared.

He even followed the manuals he’d read, running repeated tests on the refurbished units: aiming them at a nearby Stellar body. As soon as the Energy controllers lit up, that meant the test had passed and the patchwork was complete.

"Ah... there are actually so many perfectly working ones."

"Hahaha, we’re saved. If we can get through this year, next year we can save up more money and buy some new units, and we won’t have to go offworld to work anymore."

"Haha, we really have to thank the elder so much."

"We don’t know the elder’s honorable name; we’d like to remember his kindness."
