Chapter 1950 - 1952: Is It Really That Obvious?
Chapter 1950: Chapter 1952: Is It Really That Obvious?
Wang Xiangxiang looked at Yang Qiu. Yang Qiu’s mood was indeed much better than when she first entered the room.
But, was she truly at ease?
Clearly liking someone, yet rejecting their proposal; no matter how you think about it, it’s hard to feel comfortable.
"Xiaoqiu, tell me the truth, do you like Wang Kui?"
As soon as these words left her mouth, Xiaotian’s face suddenly turned red and felt burning hot. He immediately lowered his head, stuttering as he spoke, "No, no, I don’t like him."
"Don’t lie to me. When you mentioned being with Wang Kui as a child, you might not have noticed yourself, but your eyes lit up, and your face was full of spirit. I could see it clearly."
Yang Qiu reached up to touch her face, a little embarrassed, and said, "Was it that obvious?"
"..." Wasn’t it obvious?
First, she spoke in a downcast mood about rejecting Wang Kui’s proposal, then when mentioning their childhood, her attitude changed, full of energy. Even a fool could see.
"Very obvious!" Replied with emphasized voice.
"Xiaoqiu, since you like Wang Kui, why reject the proposal? Tell me what you’re really thinking. You’ve told me so much, this isn’t much more to add."
Yang Qiu thought about it and agreed, having said so much already, she continued, "Sister, I feel I am not worthy of him. I am not intact, I’ve had a child, and that child died. Everyone says I gave birth to a dead fetus, and maybe I can’t have children in the future. I don’t want to make him childless."
"Furthermore, I bear many marks left by that person. I’m afraid..."
As she reached here, Yang Qiu’s voice grew smaller; she didn’t even want to continue. Her body was covered with scars from that man’s beatings, even teeth marks.
Before, she hadn’t thought much of it, listened to what the third sister-in-law said, felt she could start a new life, find someone to settle down with.
But once she began thinking about someone, she grew fearful, feeling her ruined body was not worthy of him.
Upon hearing this, Wang Xiangxiang felt a surge of warmth in her chest, feeling sorry for this foolish girl.
She held Yang Qiu’s hand and spoke, "Xiaoqiu, maybe Wang Kui doesn’t mind. Your story is already widely spread. Everyone knows you had such a past, and that you gave birth to a child. Wang Kui surely knows you were that family’s child bride, and since he’s willing to marry you, he’s certainly prepared for it mentally. As for not being able to have children, we can consult a doctor to find out. You’re such a good girl, heaven won’t be cruel enough to deny you the right to be a mother."
And somehow, as they spoke, Yang Qiu’s eyes grew blurry, tears unknowingly started falling, perhaps out of heartache.
She knew Wang Kui hadn’t minded. She’d asked before.
But she minded, very much minded.
Yang Qiu sighed and said, "Sister Xiangxiang, there’s really no possibility between us. I already made up my mind, just felt so depressed and wanted to come and talk to you, so don’t persuade me anymore."
"Then why are you crying now? You are clearly very sad, Xiaoqiu. You’ve come so far; it’s not easy. Why care about those things? Can’t you fight for your own happiness? Have you asked him?"
