Reborn as the Blissful Wife in the countryside
Chapter 1642: Siege and Death
Chapter 1642: Chapter 1642: Siege and Death
Leimuqin recalled the events of the past, and fear surged within him once more.
It wasn’t the severity of his injuries back then, but rather Luo Ying’s ruthlessness that left him with lingering fear. Every time he thought of that reckless appearance, he would break out in a cold sweat.
The Deputy General heard this and was shocked. Looking to the right, he indeed saw Luo Ying leading several hundred fierce bandits charging over, hurriedly shouting, "Enemy attack on the right side, blow the horn to summon reinforcements!"
There were Pang Hai and others at the rear, and Luo Ying was on the right, while their Shield Soldiers had already been killed in numbers. To protect the Great General, they had to blow the horn for the Rong Soldiers attacking the city at the front to return, or else the Great General might be assassinated by Luo Ying.
The Rong Soldiers heard this and immediately sounded the ox horn.
Moo, moo, moo, moo!
The urgent four blasts of the ox horn meant the main general was surrounded.
Upon hearing the horn, Jindu was greatly alarmed and immediately shouted, "Ke Mu, quickly lead your elite soldiers back to defend, rescue the Great General!"
"Yes!" Ke Mu promptly led his thousand elite soldiers to fight back.
But the distance from here to Leimuqin’s royal chariot was quite far; by the time they arrived, Leimuqin would probably already be assassinated.
However, the Witch God favored Leimuqin, for just as Luo Ying was about to reach the royal chariot, Tuogude led troops and arrived.
Moo, moo, moo!
The urgent three blasts of the ox horn signified reinforcements coming for rescue.
Upon hearing this, Ke Mu looked far into the distance and saw the great banner of the Witch Army, elatedly saying, "It’s General Tuogude!"
Tuogude was Leimuqin’s brother-in-law, leading the Witch Army, known as the most formidable force in Da Rong. Every Warrior in the Witch Army was comparable to an Assassin. With him around, the Great General would surely be safe.
Leimuqin also saw Tuogude and was overjoyed, "Tuogude, my brother, you’re finally here!"
With reinforcement, Leimuqin became arrogant, pointing at Luo Ying, "Luo Ying, you wretched commoner, today I will avenge the knife wound from years ago!"
Back then, he was not injured by an arrow but was stabbed with a dagger by Luo Ying who reached the royal chariot.
At that time, Luo Ying was only in his teens, yet his ruthless spirit and ability to reach the royal chariot stuck with Leimuqin for many years.
Upon hearing this, Luo Ying frowned, glanced at Leimuqin’s royal chariot, quickly looked away, and turned to confront the charging Tuogude.
Tuogude and Luo Ying were evenly matched, each having wounded the other before. However, Luo Ying’s injuries were more severe, and now he was enduring them to cover for Qin San Lang. Had his injuries been lighter, he certainly wouldn’t let Qin San Lang take the risk to assassinate Leimuqin but would have gone himself.
Clang, clang, clang!
Tuogude was no easy opponent; seeing Luo Ying’s eyes ablaze, he led the Witch Army in a charge, and both sides began close combat.
"Oh, ho, defeated again, you dare to show yourself? Do you think your life is too long, wanting to die? Or do you consider your father’s death as dishonorable, so you want a different way to die, by falling in battle?" Luo Ying taunted Tuogude with venomous words.
Tuogude’s father died ignobly, bitten to death by a male lover at his side.
As for the bitten area, it’s something that would be embarrassing to describe.
Tuogude’s face darkened upon hearing this, furiously declaring, "Wretched commoner, you dare insult my father; I want you dead!"
Saying this, he swung his long blade at Luo Ying.
But Luo Ying was cunning, quickly tossing a bag of poisonous insects at Tuogude.
These poisonous insects were brought by You An and others per Gu Jinli’s instructions. Although Luo Ying disliked Gu Jinli being Qin San Lang’s official wife, these disgusting insects were used to disgust Tuogude.
Tuogude thought Luo Ying would use poison, jolted at first but then relieved upon discovering they were merely bugs, he raised his blade at Luo Ying once more, "Fool, I’m part of the Royal Family and have Divine Medicine in me, these rotworms can’t harm me at all!"
He had a good relationship with the Great Wizard, always involved in the rotworm matter, thus had Divine Medicine, every Witch Army Warrior did too, thinking of using rotworms against them was pure fantasy.
Luo Ying was startled, hadn’t expected Tuogude to be immune to such bugs.
Click!
Distracted, he was struck by Tuogude’s blade.
Yet Luo Ying wasn’t injured, Tuogude’s long blade only left a mark on Luo Ying’s battle armor.
Tuogude saw the sparks fly from the battle armor, his pupils shrank, obviously shocked... what kind of armor was this that could withstand his Black Gold Blade.
Luo Ying was equally astonished, hadn’t anticipated Qin Laoyao’s armor to be this formidable, during Tuogude’s moment of daze, he slashed at him.
With a slice, Tuogude’s armor was torn, a cut on his abdomen. Fortunately, his armor was also good, hence the wound wasn’t deep.
Luo Ying, seeing Tuogude hadn’t died, shouted to nearby fierce bandits, "Are you idiots? I barely entangled Elder Tu’s son, yet you fools aren’t shooting poison arrows to kill Leimuqin!"
Elder Tu’s son!
Tuogude, inflamed with rage, couldn’t let Leimuqin die, as his death would lose a tribal ally. He immediately instructed his side Witch Army, "Peng Tu, hurry and protect the Great General!"
Peng Tu, being Tuogude’s confidant, knew Leimuqin’s importance to their tribe and swiftly led troops to rush towards Leimuqin.
Luo Ying hurriedly chased after with the Eagle Food Gang.
Meanwhile, You An, You Xi, Feng Jin led forces suddenly attacking from the left, unleashing poison arrows towards Leimuqin’s royal chariot.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Bang, bang, bang!
Arrows rain down, poison bags burst, rendering a group of Rong soldiers unconscious.
Tuogude was shocked, where did another batch of troops come from?
He wanted to rescue Leimuqin but was tied up by Luo Ying and his men. Fortunately, half of the Witch Army was rushing to Leimuqin.
This was exactly what Qin San Lang wanted.
The Witch Army was too formidable, and Brother Luo was already wounded, he didn’t want Brother Luo to die, pulling half of the Witch Army away would mean safeguarding Brother Luo somewhat.
Now what he had to do was capitalize on the delay of half the Witch Army’s arrival to kill Leimuqin.
"Great General, General Haopeng sent us to rescue you!" Qin San Lang, clad in Rong soldiers’ armor, led You Ping and others, galloping over, speaking to Leimuqin in Rong Language.
Wearing the helmet of a Rong Soldiers Company Commander, Qin San Lang concealed most of his face. Leimuqin couldn’t see his appearance clearly, amidst much chaos, seeing someone fluent in Rong Language leading troops towards him, assumed he truly was a Silver Tent Company Commander under Haopeng, overly joyous, responding in Rong Language, "Quickly fend off the enemies on the left, don’t let them reach the royal chariot."
"At once!" Qin San Lang obliged, taking You Ping and the others to fight on the left side of the royal chariot against You An’s forces.
Though fighting fiercely, no fatalities occurred, merely wounding a few brothers for show.
Leimuqin glanced their way, then into the Witch Army approaching, saying, "Hurry over, kill these Great Chu commoners besieging me!"
Just after saying this, he sensed a sudden rush of wind from behind, a chilling sharp breath instantly enveloping him.
"Great General!" Peng Tu saw the Silver Tent Company Commander suddenly charge onto the royal chariot, a long, thin blade swiftly slashing at Leimuqin’s nape.
