Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1243: Stadium of Reborn

Chapter 1243: Stadium of Reborn

Lami, immediately sensing the perilous situation, turned to the raucous fans and bowed to them. "Ladies and gentlemen, please."

Seeing this, Caliburn relaxed. It seemed that their attendant was quite wise. Now, she was going to introduce them to the Rebornian citizens so that they knew just how important they were. They were the Lionhearts, for gods’ sake!

"We hail from the esteemed territory of the Upper Echelons," said one of the Lionheart soldiers. "Our family is entwined deeply into the Order of the Heavenly Knights! We are the Lionhearts!"

But after hearing about this, the rowdy fans didn’t even change their emotional faces. They just looked confused, wondering why they should be impressed with such a name.

Seeing this, Lami immediately came to the rescue. "They are Lord Michael’s personal guests," she said.

Finally hearing this, the fans in the blue jerseys finally turned sober. Their anger and all of their emotions were turned docile. It was as if the mere mention of their leader had turned them into prude, devout, citizens that had no record of being violent.

It was quite a sight to see. It seemed that in this nation, the name of their leader was the most important thing in their civilization!

"Also, I would like to remind you that our stadium has a no fighting policy," said Lami. "If you are seen doing so, then we will forfeit your beer privileges."

Finally, the raucous fans finally dispersed, the mere mention of that ’beer’ making them as meek as meerkats. They immediately returned to their seats.

This made the Lionhearts shocked. What was this ’beer’ they talked about? Was it a magical item in the same league as the GodForge pieces?

But as they were in the middle of their thoughts, they suddenly felt the reverberations of Maugnetics emanating from the stadium.

Being so near to the venue, Caliburn could feel the power from those Aubility Powers. There must have been about fifty Maugnetics in this place!

Caliburn and his soldiers shared a look. It seemed that this stadium of Reborn was some kind of place where their army gathered. After all, what other reason was there to gather 50 Maugnetics in one space?

Perhaps, this was some kind of training similar to the Colosseum in New Sparta. A way for the Maugnetics to prove their might and strength. There must have been a monster in this stadium that they were fighting, causing the crowd to go berserk in cheers and celebrations.

"We’ll go," Caliburn said. "Lead us inside."

Lami reluctantly nodded and walked forward, with the Lionhearts following her from behind. She was hesitant, to be honest. After all, she knew just how intense things could be in the stadium once it had reached the ending stages of the finals. It didn’t help that the score was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Eventually, they finally got into the stands.

Immediately, the raucous cheering boomed as they entered. The Lionhearts had to cover their ears.

They looked wide-eyed as they saw the enormity of the stadium. Hundreds of thousands of people, all sitting in their seats, hands in the air, cheering to the top of their lungs, their shirts creating an alternating pattern of blue and red in each section.

At the very end of the stadium, there were no seats. Instead, there was a large rectangular box of some kind. It displayed a close-up vision of a person, with intense eyes, as he looked down into an opponent opposite himself with a wooden bat in hand.

"What... what is this..." Caliburn couldn’t help but ask.

The sound of wood smacking a ball resounded through the stadium, before something twinkled in the skies. A homerun.

Once again, the stadium erupted in excitement. The playing field burst into action. People ran through the diamond field, their faces elated as they ran home and scored three up!

Even Lami couldn’t help but secretly pump her fist at the scene. The stadium always brought out emotion within the audience.

"This is baseball," Lami said with a smile. "It’s our national sport."

The Lionhearts were completely stunned and silent. They were the only ones in shock, while the rest of the people around them celebrated as if they’d just seen a soldier beat a monster.

Except, that didn’t happen. In fact, there was no fighting going on at all. This was merely... a sport.

And yet, these people, the Rebornians, treated it as if it was the most important thing in the world. Their emotions burst forth, bringing tears of joy and sorrow from both sides.

They couldn’t understand it. Why? Why would they feel so strongly about this... baseball?

And why did they use Maugnetics for it?

Caliburn’s eyes focused on the players on the field. Their Divas stood above their heads, clear and distinct, despite the bright headlights beaming down on them from above.

As they ran, their Divas ran with them. It empowered their physicality.

Those who were chasing after that ball used their Divas as well. One jumped up to the high heavens as he tried to catch the ball that disappeared into a twinkle in the skies.

And the one who held that baseball, the one whose name everyone was chanting and shouting, he had a Diva above his head as well.

But that wasn’t the most important part. It was his movements. Sharp. Precise. Swift. It was the hallmark of a great swordsman. The best, even.

In fact, most of the swordsmen in the Lionheart army couldn’t even see his swing!

Cold sweat ran down their spines as they thought what would have happened if they were fighting that guy on the battlefield.

This was what made Caliburn the most surprised.

All of these ’baseball’ players... they were powerful Maugnetics in their own rights. In Upper Echelon companies, they would have been treated as an elite force.

Yet here, in Reborn, they were being used as entertainment. As baseball players.

Caliburn didn’t know what to think of it.
