Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1470: Sol
The Guild of Arcana: a place filled with magic and mystery combined.
The revolving circular band structures around the sun was something that they created. It was something that they created so that they could study the sun in close proximity.
The sun itself was something that they did not create. It has been here since before the beginning of the Guild of Arcana.
It was a fixture made by the Ancient Humans in the Ancient Era.
They were filled with mystery that even the Mystic Masters had yet to understand.
But now, that very sun was extending its flares towards Michael. Those rays of light, those flaring white flames that were chaotic and without a static pattern, were now wrapping their arms around Michael.
"Sol! It thinks he is worthy!"
"Not possible! Not possible! How could that be?!"
It was at this point that even the Mystic Masters were panicking. After all, they’d never seen Sol act like this before! Who knew if Michael was doing something to it. Or worse, Michael could be taking that power all for himself.
Michael felt the warmth of the sun surrounding him.
And somehow, it felt familiar. He had felt this sensation before. Quite recently too!
He remembered that moment back in between the edges of reality, when he was looking at Zion’s burning threads.
He had trouble finding a way to change Zion’s fate. To make him adapt to death, rather than let it be his end.
And in the end, a feminine hand had touched his hand and helped him realize how to manipulate the threads of fate around him.
That sensation was very similar to that sensation he was feeling right now, except to his whole body!
He looked at the ginormous Sol in front of him. It was brighter than the sun, and yet, it was not blinding. It was comforting instead. The solar flares that were bursting from its surface felt like feathery tendrils coming to soothe him.
Lucy looked at Sol and immediately, he was enraged. "WHAT?! You... you have rejected my advances for years on end! You have denied me your secrets, and yet, you are willing to give yourself away just like that to this bastard?!"
For Lucy, it was like a betrayal. He had spent all of his time trying to tame Sol. He had even made his speciality Light magic simply because he thought that he’d be able to understand Sol better that way.
And compared to the other Mystic Masters, he was able to get more answers from Sol. He was the first in the entire history of the Guild of Arcana that was able to understand a single spell from Sol.
It was a very momentous occasion, one that allowed him to finally become accepted by the other Mystic Masters to become a Mystic Master himself.
But now, with Michael not even doing anything, Sol had suddenly embraced him?!
That was a betrayal that Lucy could not take! Seeing his chance, Lucy immediately charged into Sol’s surface in an attempt to forcefully see its secrets.
And after seeing this, Michael himself shot down chasing after Lucy.
Both of them plummeted into the surface of Sol, finding themselves surrounded by a fiery hotness. This hotness wasn’t just Fire energy. It was the very energy of Unity itself, trying to scald and destroy everything in its path.
Lucy shielded himself with a ray of light. It pierced through the plasma layer of Sol, allowing him to defend himself against the Unity.
And in comparison, Michael felt like he was swimming in a warm pool. Unity was not harmful to him. In fact, it was the exact opposite. Unity was propelling him further and further, allowing him to catch up to Lucy until they were side by side together.
Here, everything around them was filled with different kinds of formulas and equations and bits and pieces of knowledge about magic.
It was at this point that Michael realized.
"This... this is the secret library, isn’t it?"
Lucy looked at him, frowning. "Unacceptable. Sol should have prevented anyone from coming close to it. Someone of your caliber should not have been able to enter its sea of knowledge!"
The reason why only Mystic Masters were allowed inside was because no other person could survive the onslaught of the sea of Unity inside Sol.
All of the knowledge here was not textbooks or tomes or books. They were a literal sea of Unity!
"Nobody could enter the deepest parts of the library," said Lucy. "Not even us Mystic Masters. But you... somehow, it has deemed you worthy?! BAH!"
Lucy unleashed all of his power to reach deeper into Sol. As he did, the gravity and sea of Unity around him began to fight and eat through his Light shield.
He was getting pushed back.
Meanwhile, Michael stopped trying to swim. He simply closed his eyes and let himself get enveloped by the sea of Unity.
This was what he had been waiting for this entire time! This place contained all of the knowledge humanity had about Unity and the Ancient Era.
He could feel it. This was what he needed to finally understand the power that was entrusted to him from the very beginning!
As he began to absorb the knowledge, his body began to sink deeper and deeper into Sol.
And in comparison, Lucy found himself drifting farther and farther upwards, no matter how hard he tried to swim forwards.
"No, no, no no no no NONONO!"
Lucy could only watch in frustration as Michael drift into the center of Sol, while he was being forced out. Eventually, he found himself completely thrown out of Sol, plummeting through the circular band structures revolving around the sun.
Meanwhile, Michael closed his eyes and let the knowledge flow through him.
Him and ChatJK6 began to understand a deeper layer of Unity itself.
I see... Unity... Unity is freedom... it is magic...
And in his body, his magic cores began to glow brighter and brighter as he got ready to advance to the 9th star of the Mystic Arts.
