Michael had the nicest sleep in a long while after what had happened today.

He had not only finished their introduction to the Elite Society with great success, but he also achieved a new milestone as he had reached the 9-star realm of the Mystic Arts.

Of course, this came with a lot of new headaches. He was now a Mystic Master. But not just any, but the head of the Guild of Arcana.

He had still not processed that information yet. It didn’t feel real, after all.

The next day, he was visited by Sheina, who came bearing some interesting news.

"Lord Michael... you have a... visitor..."

When he entered his office, he immediately saw a middle-aged man sitting on the couch.

Michael felt that this person was familiar. But he just couldn’t put his finger on it. Where had he seen this guy before.

The man looked to be in his late forties, though from looking at his mana signature, Michael could tell that he was a lot older than he looked.

And a lot more powerful as well.

His instincts as a Nascent Spirit cultivator weren’t alerted at first. But now, after looking at his mana signatures, he could tell that this person was a very powerful cultivator. Probably in the very high stages of the Nascent Spirit realm at the very least.

"Good Morning, Michael. My name is Zander Oscorpe," the man said, offering his hand for Michael to take.

And after hearing his name, Michael was a little bit stunned at first.

Zander Oscorpe. Current patriarch of the Oscorpe Conglomerate. A very powerful and influential person that was below only that of his grandfather, Yze Vanderbilt.

This was the first time that he had actually met with a true leader of a Conglomerate! And not just any, but the current second-leading Conglomerate in the world!

Michael knew that the Reborn company was moving up in the world, but still, seeing a Conglomerate leader show up in his office in an otherwise normal saturday had stunned him for a little bit.

He almost became rude and didn’t return his handshake.

"Sorry... I’m just a little bit... surprised by your appearance," he said to Zander, shaking his hand.

"No need to worry," Zander said. "I did come unannounced."

Zander was a very normal-looking individual. He had slicked back black hair, with a ’tired office-worker’ look on his face. He looked like he had done one too many overtime jobs in his life.

"I do apologize for surprising you like this," Zander said. "Can I take a seat?"

"Of course, of course."

Both of them took a seat. Zander on the couch, and Michael in his office.

The leader of the Oscorpe Conglomerate was alone, with no back-up around him. Michael was sure about that. He didn’t feel any other presence aside from Zander, which was why he was so surprised after learning about Zander’s true identity.

Why would the leader of a Conglomerate come alone without any body guards?

In comparison, Michael had Sheina at his side. Meanwhile, the other Dragonborns and Shadow Orcs were waiting in the shadows, ready to protect him at any kind of trouble.

"Thank you for meeting me," said Zander. "First of all, I just want to quickly apologize for the actions of my son."

Ahhhh..

It seemed that Zander had come here by himself in order to make amends. By showing up by himself, Zander didn’t risk causing any kind of misunderstandings. It made his actions seem genuine.

But also, Michael could tell that Zander didn’t need any kind of bodyguard. With his strength, he could easily protect himself if need be.

"Worcester’s allegiance and his actions do not reflect the goals of the Oscorpe Conglomerate. I wish for you to know that."

Zander was trying to distance himself from Worcester. It made sense. Now that Worcester’s schemes had come to light, his bad reputation could drag the entire Oscorpe Conglomerate down to the ground.

"I am glad to know that. Your son seemed to have had an obsession in destroying me and my company," Michael said.

"Rest assured, the Oscorpe Conglomerate has no kind of issue with your business. In fact, it is quite the opposite," said Zander. "I came here personally in order to repair our relationship and hopefully come to an understanding regarding business in the future."

Michael raised his eyebrows, curious. "Really?"

"Of course. Your introduction to the Elite Society had made a great impression on me. The innovative products that you offer is something that we want to acquire for ourselves as well.

And if it weren’t for... what happened with my son, then I would have immediately made an offer to buy some of your products.

But... I know that we have broken your trust with our company. So, it is only natural that I rebuild that trust first before I partake in your business.

And for that, I wish to offer you compensation for your troubles."

It was at this point that Zander took out a briefcase and laid it out in front of Michael.

He opened it and showed him a few stacks of papers.

"This is the deed to the territories that Worcester had in his possession. These are yours now," said Zander.

Michael was about to say something, but Zander raised his hand.

"You cannot refuse this. Worcester has issued an informal duel when he invaded your territories. If he had won, he would have destroyed your land. But since you won, it is only natural that you get his territories in return."

Sheina immediately took the papers and began inspecting them. Even with her usually calm demeanor, she couldn’t help but show a hint of surprise from what she saw.

"These are prime locations, Lord Michael," said Sheina as she whispered to him. "Not only that, but there are some territories here that have a lot of resources. This will help tremendously with our expansion."

Zander then continued. "I know that this is not enough, so I am willing to provide you with more compensation...."
