Chapter 84: I Want Him~

Seeing this scene, Shen Qingci immediately stood up from his seat. "It seems like Tianyu is in trouble this time," he said as he frowned.

His friend shook his head and replied, "I have no idea. It might just be a normal wind element summoning creature."

The person turned his head back to the arena and nodded in agreement. "You’re right. How strong could a butterfly-type summoned beast even be?"

Hearing those words surrounding them, Chen Tianyu’s expression did not change at all, as though it had nothing to do with him. He glanced down at the Wind Spirit Butterfly resting on his shoulder, the corners of his mouth curled up a little. "Xiao Ling, did you hear that? Looks like most people don’t think that you could win?"

"Then let them see your beautiful performance this time," he continued.

"Tiiiing~~~"

An empty, ringing sound suddenly echoed across the entire arena. In the next moment, an invisible wave of wind pressure surrounded the Wind Spirit Butterfly and spread throughout the arena. It followed the wind currents and flew up in mid-air, green light glowing across its wings.

"Xiao Shui, attack first!" the summoner of the Azure-Wave Water Wolf commanded as he pointed toward Chen Tianyu. The second his words landed, the summoning beast used some force to leap forward and charged toward Chen Tianyu at lightning speed.

"That’s so despicable! How could they attack the summoner directly?!" one of the audience called out.

"Calm down... the rules of the competition had not said that they could not attack the summoner. To be honest, that is the best way to finish this match within the least amount of time," the person beside him explained.

"But—"

Chen Tianyu did not even look up as he just stood in place. There were some people in the audience who even turned their heads to the side, not daring to watch the ending of this young man. His opponent let out a cold laugh; a light of excitement flickered through his eyes.

Just when the Azure-Wave Water Wolf was about to attack him, it was suddenly pushed backward by some invisible force. It let out a whimper after it was finally able to stand still on the floor, staring into the air with a look of fright.

"What just happened?" The audience, who had previously closed their eyes, all stared at the arena with confusion.

Chen Tianyu was still standing right where he had been and did not even move an inch. A tiny Wind Spirit Butterfly was gently fluttering its wings when it circled around Chen Tianyu a few times before resting on the fingertip that he reached out. Rings of light blue-green airflow rippled outward from its tiny body.

"Was that... the butterfly?" one of the audience exclaimed, his face filled with disbelief.

"It must be! Does anyone know what this summoning beast is?"

"Wait... I remember that I saw this butterfly in an ancient book before! I remember that it’s called... the Wind Spirit Butterfly," someone pushed her glasses up above her nose and said slowly.

The smile on the opposing summoner’s face froze immediately when he saw that. He stared fixedly at his summoned beast, his eyes filled with disbelief.

How could that butterfly have such power?!

Suddenly, from his instincts as a Hunter, he somehow had a strange feeling. He immediately commanded the Azure-Wave Water Wolf to come back beside him, though it was already too late.

"Tiiiing~~~"

The Wind Spirit Butterfly let out a clear, melodious cry, and the airflow (that was previously calm) had suddenly transformed into swirling blades of wind and surrounded the Azure-Wave Water Wolf in all directions, not providing it any chance to escape.

"Xiao Shui, hurry up and defend!" Its summoner quickly yelled out, which the Azure-Wave Water Wolf hurriedly gathered the magical energy within its body and formed a deep blue shield around itself.

As the wind blades struck down one after another, violent ripples immediately appeared on the surface of the water shield.

The summoner frowned a little as he transported his magical energy toward it, and after a while, the wind blades suddenly stopped. Just as both of them let out a sigh of relief and thought that everything was over, wind blades with greater power hit violently on the barrier. Within seconds, the water shield was already covered in cracks.

Meanwhile, standing by the side of the arena, Chen Tianyu slowly raised his hand and pointed toward the Azure-Wave Water Wolf, and said with a playful voice. "Xiao Ling... it’s almost time to wrap things up."

As he spoke, the Wind Spirit Butterfly spread its wings wide, and almost instantly, the entire arena began to tremble. A gigantic azure tornado slowly appeared in front of it.

The host was originally flying above them and watching the match. When seeing this, he quickly instructed one of the staff members to activate the highest-level protective barrier.

The staff member nodded her head and began communicating with the other staff, arranging for the others to raise the barrier’s defensive level in order to protect the audience.

Beams of light suddenly illuminated the area surrounding the arena. A massive protective barrier slowly rose and covered the entire arena.

The protective barrier’s defensive level had been raised to the maximum.

"A maximum-level protective barrier? That’s so rare to see in a freshman-level competition~" one of the teachers said with a soft chuckle. Then she turned her head and looked at Song Yuan, who was standing beside him.

"This child... I want him. Don’t you dare to compete with me for him~" she said.

Hearing this, Song Yuan immediately gave her an annoyed gaze. "In your dreams," he said coldly.

"What? Don’t tell me that you’re interested in him too?" the teacher asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"Of course. For someone so young to be able to summon the Wind Spirit Butterfly that only appeared in the legends before, his potential is astonishing. I’m very interested to see how far he can go in the world of Hunters," Song Yuan said, a sign of surprise appearing on his face.

While they were still talking, the whirlwind in the arena slowly vanished. Xiao Ling flew back onto Chen Tianyu’s shoulder, as his fingers brushed against its wings.

The battle had ended in less than three minutes. The host was stunned for a moment, but as a professional, he quickly went back to his senses and lifted his microphone near his mouth, announcing, "Let us congratulate Chen Tianyu for winning this match!"

Seeing this, the female teacher suddenly let out a soft chuckle. "It seems like I could not let you have him now~"

Song Yuan raised an eyebrow and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Nothing~" she smiled and replied as she rested her chin in her hand. "I’m just thinking that... this student was even more interesting than I thought. He looks a lot like when you were young..."
