When Jiang Zihan opened his eyes again, he realized that he had already broken through the illusion and came back to the real world. Just as he was staring at the empty space with confusion, a female voice suddenly rose from behind.

Jiang Zihan was startled and quickly turned his head, realizing that Su Li was standing a few meters behind. He followed gaze and lowered his head, then noticed that he was still holding hands with Mo Shiyan.

His face immediately blushed red as he quickly let go of Mo Shiyan’s hand. Mo Shiyan looked toward him and curled up his fingers, though he did not say anything.

"Su Li, you made it out of the illusion too?" Jiang Zihan asked, trying to change the topic.

Su Li did not mind his small movements and nodded her head. "There was nothing else but a bunch of monsters, so I just defeated all of them and broke through the illusion," she explained calmly.

Jiang Zihan was stunned for a moment before asking, "...Aren’t we not allowed to use magical energy inside the illusion?"

"We are. However, never forget that any illusion that is connected to you could be controlled by you, since it was basically built by your memory fragments. So as long as you believe that you could defeat the monsters, then you would be able to do so," Su Li explained.

Jiang Zihan nodded his head, seemingly half-understanding. While they were talking, the others slowly opened their eyes one after another. They sat up and looked at the surroundings, clutching their heads as they struggled to shake off the feeling of dizziness.

"What in the world just happened? I remember that I was being chased by hundreds of people with Lin Xingxue’s face..." Chen Tianyu muttered, looking completely dazed, as if he had not gone out of that nightmare yet.

"Don’t touch me!" Shen Qingyi screamed as she quickly scrambled backward, her body trembling.

"Qingyi...? Qingyi, are you all right? Don’t scare me!" Shen Qingci asked, his voice filled with concern. He held onto her shoulders, trying to wake her from the illusion.

"Leave... leave me alone!" Shen Qingyi yelled out as she struggled. She completely ignored her brother’s questions and just commanded them to leave.

Mo Shiyan observed her condition for a while before frowning. "It seems like she’s still lost in her illusion."

Then he turned to Shen Qingci and asked, "Do you know what she saw inside the illusion?"

Shen Qingci fell silent for a moment before answering with a low, hoarse voice. "I have an idea."

Everyone could feel the sudden heaviness in the atmosphere, and knew that it must be a memory that he doesn’t want others to know. They exchange a glance before walking over to the side, leaving them some space for themselves.

Thank you... Shen Qingci said in his heart before lowering his eyes.

Qingyi must have remembered what happened in the past. I should have known that she wouldn’t be able to forget or overcome those memories so easily, but because Qingyi had never expressed her emotions toward those memories, he didn’t think too much about it.
