Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!
Chapter 5459: Big Problem
Chapter 5459: Chapter 5459: Big Problem
Madam looked quite biased against Ye Jian, hardly able to stand still before questioning Ye Jian about her presence here, without inquiring first about Grandpa Gen’s condition.
Ye Jian’s arm was linked through Grandma Qin’s!
Reminded by her daughter, Mrs. Qin finally came back to her senses, "Mom, you must be tired."
"You’re tired too, sit down and talk." Old Madam saw her daughter-in-law gasping and gestured for her to sit beside her.
Only then did Mrs. Qin ask Qin Xiu, "Xiu, how is grandpa doing now?"
"The doctor said the hospital security acted promptly in the rescue. Grandpa Gen has pulled through the critical phase of his illness, and now the doctors are conducting a full body examination on him," Qin Xiu said, helping Mrs. Qin sit down while she caught her breath, "We’ll ask the doctor properly when they come out."
"That’s good, that’s good." Mrs. Qin patted her chest in relief and glanced subtly at Ye Jian before speaking to Old Madam, "The old master has always been in good health. He surely will be alright. Don’t worry."
Qin Ying’s heart also settled, considering she had just brought her boyfriend home, and Grandpa Gen suddenly took ill. Although this was merely a coincidence, if word got out, who knows what people would say behind her back.
"Aunt Qin, Sister Jia Jia," Ye Jian stood up to greet them.
Mrs. Qin nodded faintly, her expression somewhat distant. Aunt... she really couldn’t assume that title.
With the old master in urgent sickness, why was it her accompanying Old Madam? Moreover, it was clear Old Madam had known her for a while, so how come she knew nothing about it?
Qin Ying stepped closer and took Ye Jian’s hand, "Ye Jian, it’s really a trouble for you, bothering you to accompany Grandma Qin so late at night."
Her younger brother was impressive indeed, stealing a person right out of Xia Jinyuan’s hands, even bringing her to the hospital to accompany Grandma Qin!
She’d need to ask him properly in private.
"Sister Jia Jia, you’re being too polite. Taking care of Grandma Qin is part of my duty, you don’t need to be so formal," Ye Jian said with a bright smile.
Upon hearing "part of my duty," both Qin Ying and Mrs. Qin instinctively looked towards their own Qin Xiu.
Two cups of hot water were served by V8, "Grandpa Gen should be okay, right?"
"Grandpa Gen is fine; the doctor is inside doing a check-up on him right now." Upon seeing her boyfriend, Qin Ying’s interaction with him, their hands intertwined, both sensed each other’s nervousness.
It wasn’t just Qin Ying who was worried; V8 was too. His first time visiting and promptly the old master fell ill. If this got out, it could sound really bad.
In the army, he might not hear these things, but his girlfriend might hear these rumors and gossips. He had already felt like an unworthy match, and if she were to be subjected to such baseless rumors, he couldn’t imagine how remorseful he’d feel.
"Don’t worry, the old master is not in any serious trouble," Ye Jian reassured, hardly ever seeing V8 look so tense. Even in the battlefield, she had not seen him like this.
"How come you are here?" V8, having seen Ye Jian earlier, feigned great surprise. Wasn’t she supposed to be with the Captain? How could she be with his future brother-in-law and the others?
"I am here accompanying Grandma Qin," Ye Jian laughed but didn’t directly answer, thinking, don’t assume she hadn’t noticed his peeping and sneaking away earlier.
But to Mrs. Qin, this scene set off alarm bells in her head—this girl also knew Ying’s boyfriend!
Plus, the old master’s sudden illness late at night, the girl accompanying the old lady in the hospital, so where had she been before that? Could it be that she was with their Xiu before that?
What was she doing late at night with their Xiu?
The more Mrs. Qin thought about it, the more it seemed like a big deal.
