Reborn: I'll Never Fail My Childhood Sweetheart Again
Chapter 873: Certificate in Hand, The World Is Mine! Xiaoyanzi Becomes a True 'Master'
Ever since that moment, Dai Chuangxing knew that this young man was very smart and had a unique approach to things.
Back then, I couldn’t offer a clean sleeve of services. If he had directly sent a TV, it would have definitely been rejected. However, Su Zelin approached it from the angle of my penny-pinching spouse and eventually connected to his first contact in Lin’an.
After that, he expanded his network through his connections, meeting an old classmate, the dean of Zhejiang University, and gradually broadened his network. It’s only because of this that New Era achieved its present success.
“That guy Xiaosu is buzzing with a fulfilling career, unlike our son-in-law, who busies himself all year long and barely makes any money!”
Kang Yulian couldn’t help but grumble about family matters again. She’s always been upset about her daughter marrying far away and ending up with an unsatisfactory son-in-law. Whenever Su Zelin visited, she had to complain a bit.
Since Su Zelin had no say in others’ family matters, he could only patiently listen to the vice director’s wife vent, occasionally adding a word or two.
Eventually, Dai Chuangxing got impatient: “That’s enough, that’s enough. Xiaosu didn’t come here to listen to your family talk. Go make dinner now!”
Only then did Kang Yulian close her mouth and head into the kitchen.
After having dinner at Vice Director Dai’s house and sitting for a while, it was eight in the evening when Su Zelin stood up to take his leave. Before leaving, he handed a big red envelope to each of the couple: “Uncle Dai, Auntie, let me wish you a happy new year in advance, health, happiness, and may all your wishes come true!”
The envelopes were not only big but also quite thick, making the vice director’s wife very happy, thinking to herself that Xiaosu was more considerate than her nephew.
“In that case, Auntie thanks you. Come over for a meal when you have time!”
“Alright, I’ll head out now, no need to see me off!”
…
Su Zelin honored his agreement with Huang Panpan, meeting her twice before the Finance Academy’s vacation started. Then, the little junior sister went back to Jianglan, picked up by her parents, Huang Hongbo and Li Juan.
On the very night before the official winter break, after having a campus meeting in the afternoon, we were practically free. Those students who lived nearby could leave at their leisure.
Su Zelin appeared at the Finance Academy again. Although he couldn’t drive Huang Panpan home, he could still say goodbye to her.
Even though they would meet again in less than a week, what mattered more was showing his affection. For the junior sister, it was also a pleasant surprise, similar to when he picked up Qin Shiqing at the airport.
Sure enough, the little junior sister was delighted when she saw Su Ze. She had thought her boyfriend had met her twice as promised and would see her again in Jianglan, but who knew he would suddenly come to see her off.
It seems the senior truly loves me and doesn’t see accompanying me as a chore!
Su Zelin casually exchanged a few words with Huang Hongbo and his wife, considering they were practically half in-laws to him.
“Zelin, your company’s business is really booming. We old-timers are getting left behind on the beach!”
Huang Hongbo sighed, thinking about his decades of hard work in Jianglan, where he could call the shots, only to be surpassed by this young man.
Nowadays, the rise of Su Zelin and New Era was unstoppable. He could easily meet with top provincial leaders and have meals and tea with them like it was ordinary.
And, at this rate, in a few years, Su Zelin’s influence might not be limited to the Jiang, Zhejiang, and Hu area but the entire Xia Country.
“Uncle Huang, you’re too kind. It’s just the right time for a hero to rise.”
Su Zelin replied humbly.
“Zelin, don’t be so modest. While heroes certainly rise with the times, they also need skills to seize the opportunity!”
Li Juan chimed in with praise for him.
Seeing her parents praise Su Zelin, Huang Panpan was happier than being praised herself, thinking she had the right judgment. Back in their high school days, no one thought the senior had potential, but she knew he did, and indeed, now his achievements left everyone admiring.
After some casual chat, Li Juan invited Su Zelin to visit them after returning to Jianglan for a meal, then drove off with her daughter.
Just as Su Zelin was thinking about returning to work, his phone rang.
“Boss, the certificates you wanted are ready. They’ll be sent out tomorrow. Please keep an eye out.”
The caller was a certification agent from Shenghai, specialized in genuine foreign honor certificates. These aren’t just printed fakes but are linked to foreign training structures, and the certificates are authentic. One can verify by calling the institution, although attending training isn’t required.
Previously, Xiaoyanzi’s “celebrity teacher” certificate was something Su Zelin had Photoshopped together, leaving him uneasy. Now that the tutoring class was doing well financially, he asked for a real certificate.
“No need to send it out. I’ll be heading to Shenghai tomorrow, so I’ll pick it up directly from your office!”
With the postal service’s pace recently, even for something as close as Shenghai to Lin’an, it wouldn’t arrive until the next year. Since Su Zelin had business in Shenghai before New Year’s, he decided to collect it himself, so Xiaoyanzi wouldn’t have to keep nagging him every few days about the certificate.
The next day, Su Zelin went to Shenghai without any delay, returning the same day. In the past, he would have met up with his Shenghai classmates, including Ah Xi. However, many organizations still required working and didn’t start year-end breaks as early, but Su Zelin had no time for that. He completed his business, picked up the certificate, and left.
That night, he called his good friends and their spouses over for dinner, and when Su Zelin presented the certificate, Xiaoyanzi was over the moon.
