Reborn: I'll Never Fail My Childhood Sweetheart Again
Chapter 894: Deputy Director of Operations, Song Yuwei Gets Promoted
In mid-June, Huang Panpan successfully passed her graduation defense.
Just like previous graduates, it was soon time to take graduation photos.
The official graduation photo session for their class was scheduled for the morning. Everyone wore their academic robes, some excited about graduating successfully and looking forward to a bright future, while also feeling sad that their four years as classmates were coming to an end. There would no longer be carefree campus life.
Some unexpected guests showed up at the scene—mostly the parents of the graduates. A large proportion of the college’s students were from the province. After years of hard study, their children had finally graduated and achieved success. Many parents who lived close to Lin’an came to witness this special moment, with some even traveling great distances.
Among these unexpected guests, the graduates noticed a familiar face.
“Hey, isn’t that Senior Su Zelin?”
“Yes, that’s Senior Su from last year’s finance class. He became an executive at New Century Digital before even graduating. Last year, the company sponsored the Spring Festival Gala and gave out 88.88 million yuan. I was lucky to grab 888 yuan and bought a phone, hehe!”
“Our class beauty, Huang Panpan, was his high school junior, and she had a crush on Senior Su. Her internship was completed at the New Century Digital headquarters. The two have a good relationship, so Senior Su is probably here to observe the ceremony!”
“No wonder Huang Panpan didn’t have a boyfriend all throughout college. Turns out she’s had a crush on her idol all along!”
“…”
As soon as Su Zelin appeared, he caught the attention of the graduates, leading to a lot of whispering and discussion.
Back in college, Su had quite the reputation and often participated in college talent shows. Coupled with his legendary story at New Century, almost everyone knew him.
“Panpan, your idol is here, did he come specifically to observe the ceremony for you?”
Her roommate quickly noticed Su Zelin’s presence and asked.
“Yes!”
Huang Panpan replied proudly, thinking to herself, “He’s not just my idol, he’s my boyfriend.”
However, her roommate was unaware of their relationship, secretly admiring Panpan’s perseverance in chasing after a guy since high school and even following him to the company after graduation.
In addition to Su Zelin, Huang Hongbo and Li Juan also arrived.
Since Jianglan was so close to Lin’an, they naturally couldn’t miss their beloved daughter donning her academic robe and had already arrived in the provincial capital the day before.
From a distance, watching their little princess, Li Juan couldn’t help but wipe away tears.
As a mother, she felt deeply emotional. Bearing a child for ten months and raising them with great effort is not easy, especially since there was a long period when Huang Panpan was a troubled child and had a strained relationship with them, causing great concern for her growth and future.
Fortunately, their little princess had changed quite a bit; she studied hard, got into a good university, became a class officer, joined the student council, excelled academically. Her accomplishments over the past four years made her parents proud and naturally happy.
Yet, they were both happy and worried because their daughter’s transformation stemmed from the influence of the young man beside them.
This young man was exceptional, one in a million, but the problem was he had a girlfriend, and their little princess was still determined, insisting on working at Su Zelin’s company after graduation.
Her parents didn’t want their precious daughter to be a second choice for someone else, after all, Huang Panpan was the famous heiress of the affluent Huang family in Jianglan.
Of course, they couldn’t blame Su Zelin, as it was their daughter who was stubbornly in pursuit, even continually entangling herself with someone else.
In guiding their little princess back to a righteous path in life and restoring her relationship with her parents, he played an undeniably important role, so this couldn’t be pinned on him.
The official graduation photo was quickly taken, and Huang Panpan changed out of her robe and came over.
“Panpan, congratulations on your successful graduation!”
Su Zelin said with a smile.
“Thank you, Senior, and also to Mom and Dad, you’ve worked hard raising me for these twenty years!”
At this, the young lady bowed to Huang Hongbo and Li Juan, leaving her parents pleasantly surprised.
“Panpan, what are you saying this for? You’re our good daughter, it’s our duty to raise you!”
Seeing how sensible Huang Panpan had become, they were both happy and relieved.
Previously, she didn’t want to talk to them much at all.
“I brought the camera, Panpan, where would you like to take photos?”
Teacher Su raised the DSLR camera in his hand.
“Where did you take photos when you graduated last year, Senior?”
Huang Panpan asked.
“I went to many places: the teaching building, the artificial lake, the sports field, the cafeteria…”
Su Zelin counted on his fingers.
“Then I’d like to take pictures at all those places too, is that okay?”
“Of course, that’s perfectly fine!”
Su had specifically freed up half a day, enough to observe the ceremony and take the young lady around for photos across the campus.
So the group went to take pictures together, with Huang Panpan as the focal point. Su also took pictures of her and her parents, as well as some group photos with himself included.
By noon, they had taken about enough photos, and Su Zelin invited the group for lunch.
During the meal, Huang Hongbo suddenly remarked, “Panpan, since you’re planning on working at New Century after graduation, your mom and I have decided to buy you an apartment here.”
Buying a house in the provincial capital is something others might have to work long and hard for, but for the Huang family, it’s a rather ordinary matter.
He and Li Juan didn’t want their daughter renting an apartment, since their little princess hadn’t endured much hardship since she was young.
Although New Century offers employee housing, with her current credentials, it’s clear she wouldn’t make the cut for the first batch, unless Su Zelin bent the rules for her, but that wouldn’t be likely given his principles, and it wouldn’t look good. They certainly didn’t want to put Su in a difficult position.
