Reborn In A Cultivation World With All Cheat Abilities
Chapter 237: Weeping Goddess
Jacob moved through the next 20 floors rather easily, most of the opponents easily handled as a result of all the physical and powerful reinforcements that he had done. He had not even lost a single drop of sweat, nor had he received a single scratch.
All the entities watching were beginning to take an interest in him. He achieved this all in a little less than two days, with most of his battles being over before they even began.
Among all the constellations that had taken an interest in this white-haired young man was a woman who possessed an ethereal beauty that seemed very unnatural, seemingly sculpted from the moonlight itself.
She had long, flowing silver hair that fell like a shimmering veil down her back, and pale, flawless skin that seemed to glow faintly beneath the light. Her eyes were deep violet, clear and otherworldly, carrying an unfathomable sadness within their depths. A single tear-shaped mark rested beneath her left eye, glowing with a soft celestial radiance. She wore a long, flowing white gown adorned with delicate silver patterns resembling distant stars, its fabric drifting around her as though touched by an unseen wind. Despite her breathtaking appearance, there was an overwhelming sorrow in her presence, the kind that made even silence feel heavy. She looked less like a mortal woman and more like a goddess who had descended from the heavens, carrying the grief of an entire world upon her shoulders. She was a constellation known as the Weeping Goddess, Elyssara.
Underneath all that grief she bore for the world, there was an eerie attraction she felt towards this man after watching him fight through 22 floors as easily as descending a flight of stairs.
She had made up her mind that she would speak to the boy whenever she could. She watched him intently. In over a century, nobody had piqued her interest this much. She wondered what made him so powerful, and why, even with all that power, his kindness was still very much evident in the fact that he refused to unalive his opponents in the arena.
...
Elyssara watched through her tear-filled eyes as Jacob walked through the portal door leading to the 23rd floor and was face-to-face with his opponent, a taller man with a full head of green hair and wide green eyes. His teeth were shaped like tiny little knives as he stared at Jacob with a glint of anticipation in his eyes.
Even though Elyssara’s eyes were filled with tears and her expression suggested that she shouldered an insurmountable amount of grief, she could still see clearly how Jacob had managed to dismantle his opponent with relative ease once again, as though it meant absolutely nothing to fight.
The young man even looked bored while doing it. In that moment, she placed every gold coin in her possession on a bet that Jacob would clear the tower in record time. She was that confident.
She even subscribed to watch only the fights that Jacob participated in. She did shoulder a lot of pain in her world, but she was still capable of experiencing emotions such as joy, pleasure, happiness, and love. Albeit the latter hadn’t brought her much, she never relented in her pursuit.
Like all gods and goddesses, she enjoyed watching mortals dueling to the death. Getting to feel the amount of sorrow that each one possessed within them was her own reward.
Jacob finished his battle and left the arena quickly. He was feeling rather confident, as he had just cleared 23 floors in no time, each battle shorter than the last.
If truly the tower was this easy, then he would end up smashing Link’s record by a mile, and no one in at least the next thousand years would be able to beat his... he hoped.
He stood with Uga once again in the almost silent lobby, where the contestants were made to wait. This lobby was really weird to Jacob because even though there was an uncountable number of people here, it was the most organized he had ever seen other beings in his life. Each and every one minded their business squarely. Nobody felt the need to ask another for anything. They all knew deep within what they were there for and would not stray off the course for anyone.
Jacob was also a little surprised to find that the building had an infinite number of guest rooms for the competitors to stay in every night. The Ruling Power and the Meereens understood the basic fundamental rule which stated that warriors had to be fully rested to be able to give their all in any battle. There was also a provision of food, any food that they wished, from any world.
Jacob was not worried about food, as he could easily conjure up anything to eat, even from his former life.
Just as Jacob had settled into bed, a large, king-sized bed in a dimly lit room with white, polished marble floors and light brown walls, the room was closed on all four ends, possessing no doors whatsoever, as the portal doors were also used to go into their rooms. There was no need for additional training, so Jacob had gone into his room to get a good night’s rest.
But it seemed he would not even be able to have that, as the second he lay down, another dark, rectangular portal door appeared in his room. Out of it stepped one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen. Long silver hair that flowed far beneath her extremely curvy waistline, violet eyes, and a tear-shaped mark just below her left eye.
Her eyes looked as though they were completely filled with tears, but not a single teardrop came rolling down her cheeks.
Jacob sat up in his bed, his back rested against the wall, in an effort to hide his shock at the strangely beautiful woman who had just waltzed into his room as though it belonged to her.
"I think you have the wrong room, miss," Jacob said casually, his voice calm.
"No, no. I have exactly the right room."
