Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 610: He Must Have Saved a Nation in His Past Life
"Alright," the lunch lady agreed without hesitation.
Her hand didn’t shake at all, and she even gave them an extra piece.
’But Group Leader Fu’s preference for lean meat is so strange. What’s so tasty about lean meat? Isn’t the fatty part more flavorful?’
Qin Wenhao picked up the tray of food. "I can carry it."
"I’ll take the rice." Fu Mingxue also asked the lunch lady for two white-flour steamed buns.
The couple found an empty table and sat down.
"The steamed buns here are delicious too. You should try one."
"Okay!" Qin Wenhao happily took it.
’Forget that it was a steamed bun; he’d happily eat anything his wife handed him, even if it was hard to swallow.’
Just as they were eating, an uninvited guest arrived.
"Qin Wenhao, Group Leader Fu, what a coincidence. You don’t mind if I sit here, right?"
Qin Wenhao looked up. Just as he was about to say that he *did* mind, Fu Mingxue beat him to it. "Not at all."
Qin Wenhao: ...?
He glared daggers at Zhai Dajiang.
’The cafeteria was huge, and there were plenty of empty tables. Did he really have to come and bother a married couple during their meal?’
Zhai Dajiang pretended he didn’t see the hostile look.
He smiled at Fu Mingxue—being this close, he got an even better look at her radiant face.
"Group Leader Fu, you probably don’t know me, but I’ve seen you around a few times. So, let me introduce myself. My name is Zhai Dajiang, I work here at the base, and I’m one of Qin Wenhao’s childhood friends."
After saying this, he quickly added, "It’s great to meet you... Sister-in-law!"
Qin Wenhao had been about to snap at him for being so long-winded.
But when he heard that final "Sister-in-law," he forgave the guy for his chattiness.
’After all, he really did love hearing people call his wife ’Sister-in-law’.’
Fu Mingxue said with a light laugh, "That’s quite a coincidence. Qin Wenhao was just mentioning you!"
Zhai Dajiang’s interest was immediately piqued. He pressed, "What did Qin Wenhao say about me?"
This time, before Fu Mingxue could answer, Qin Wenhao cut in. "I mentioned that you talk so much, even a mouthful of food can’t shut you up."
Zhai Dajiang: ...?
’That damn dog.’
’He’s ruining my good name.’
"Also, can we please eat in peace now? Don’t you know that when you talk while you eat, you can get spit in other people’s food?"
Fu Mingxue: ...?
She silently scooted her tray of food a little to the side.
Zhai Dajiang: ...?
?
?
’He shouldn’t have come over to sit with them.’
’That bastard is rotten to the core.’
Qin Wenhao got what he wanted.
With the chattering gone, he could finally eat in peace.
He knew his wife preferred the lean meat.
So, he picked the fatty pieces into his own bowl and moved the lean portions into his wife’s.
Zhai Dajiang was stunned by this.
’That bastard. He keeps the good parts for himself and gives his wife the bad parts?’
’Is there no justice in this world? How did a guy like this even manage to find a wife?’
He looked at Fu Mingxue with pity—she was eating those "bad parts" with such obvious enjoyment.
’Just how much must Fu Mingxue love that bastard Qin Wenhao?’
’Qin Wenhao must have done some incredible good deeds in his past life.’
But even though he disapproved of Qin Wenhao’s actions, he wasn’t about to criticize him in front of Fu Mingxue.
The meal was over quickly.
Qin Wenhao took their empty dishes to be washed.
"Honey, do you have to work overtime again tonight?"
"I do. You should go to bed early. Don’t wait up for me. I think I’m going to be pretty late."
"Alright. Be careful on your way back to the dorm then."
Fu Mingxue nodded.
Once they were outside the cafeteria, she and Qin Wenhao parted ways.
