Chapter 612: Of Course I Like It

Mrs. Fu looked at the shiny new tricycle.

It was even better looking than the one she had back at the family housing compound.

And it looked a good bit larger, too.

You could tell just by looking at it that it was quite valuable and worth a lot of money. It was the kind of thing you couldn’t help but fall in love with at first sight.

Of course, she was no exception. She loved it.

After all, with this tricycle, she could take her two grandchildren out with her to go grocery shopping and run errands.

That would be so convenient.

But she couldn’t accept it.

Her daughter wasn’t here, and she hadn’t said anything about it. How could Mrs. Fu just accept something like this?

What if it caused trouble for her daughter?

After some thought, she said,

"Um, Director Liu, Director Zhang, thank you, first of all. But my daughter never mentioned this, and I’m just an old woman who doesn’t understand these things. I can’t just accept it. Why don’t you take the tricycle back with you?"

Director Liu smiled and said, "Ma’am, please, don’t worry about accepting it. This was all arranged with Group Leader Fu. In fact, we spoke on the phone just last night. I heard she was going to call home about it. Have you not heard from her yet?"

"Ah, well, no... We don’t have a phone."

Mrs. Fu was still hesitant to accept it.

You couldn’t blame her for being cautious.

Sometimes, it was better to be careful.

"Well..." Director Liu was about to say more.

Just then, Mrs. Qin’s voice cut in. "Oh, this must be the tricycle Mingxue was talking about! It’s very nice."

When Mrs. Fu saw that it was her daughter’s mother-in-law, her eyes lit up. "Did Mingxue call you?"

Mrs. Qin nodded. "Yes, she called very late last night and told me all about the tricycle. I was planning to come over this morning to tell you, but I got held up. That’s why I’m only just getting here now."

’She really hadn’t expected them to deliver the tricycle so quickly.’

"This is Director Liu and this is Director Zhang," Mrs. Fu explained. "They’re the ones who delivered the tricycle. I wasn’t sure what was going on. Did Mingxue really say it was okay to accept?"

Mrs. Qin first gave a slight nod to the two directors before turning back to Mrs. Fu and nodding again. "Yes, Mingxue said on the phone that she specifically arranged for the factory to send one to you. She said it was so you could take the children out."

Hearing Mrs. Qin confirm it, Mrs. Fu finally felt at ease.

She quickly turned to the two directors. "Thank you so much! I can’t believe you delivered it in person. Please, come inside for a drink of water."

"There’s no need to be so formal. Oh, right, let me show you how to operate this tricycle!"

Director Zhang gave them the instructions himself.

Mrs. Fu and Mrs. Qin both listened attentively.

After listening, the two mothers-in-law murmured to each other, "That sounds pretty simple."

"That’s right, it’s very simple. You can go ahead and give it a try."

Mrs. Fu was quite bold. Besides, she had tried Fu Mingxue’s modified electric bike back at the family housing compound.

So, she was eager to give it a go.

As soon as she got on, she found she could operate it right away.

Mrs. Qin watched with envy. When Mrs. Fu drove back, she got on to try it as well.

"This is great."

Seeing this, Director Zhang and Director Liu knew their task was complete.

They said their goodbyes to Mrs. Fu.

In truth, they could have assigned anyone from the factory to make the delivery.

But the two of them had decided to come in person.

Director Liu, of course, had come along to show the way.

After they left, Mrs. Fu and Mrs. Qin went ahead and lifted the two children into the tricycle, with Mrs. Qin sitting in the back to watch over them.

"Let’s go get groceries."

The two mothers were absolutely delighted with the new vehicle.

And just like that, they drove it out onto the street for a spin.
