Of course, she couldn’t just tell the two little ones that she wasn’t going to have one.

After all, her life plan did include actually having a child of her own.

She wanted to experience the pain of childbirth.

"Mm, sometime in the future."

The two little ones were overjoyed when they heard this.

The little girl was even more eager, asking, "Mama, when is ’sometime in the future’? Is it tomorrow? Can Mama give Keke a little brother tomorrow? Keke wants to be a big sister."

Fu Mingxue: ...?

’Only laying an egg would be that fast.’

Just then, Qin Hao chimed in:

"You’re a dummy, sis. Mama can’t have a little brother tomorrow! Mama’s tummy isn’t big like Little Fatty’s mama’s tummy."

"It’ll definitely be—"

Little Qin Hao counted on his fingers. "It’ll definitely be *this* many days. Then Mama can have a little brother."

Fu Mingxue watched him hold up five fingers.

The corner of her mouth twitched.

’So, a baby in five days?’

She wasn’t *that* magical.

"Alright, let’s just say sometime in the future. For now, it’s time to go home."

’If this goes on any longer, they’ll be expecting it every single day, won’t they?’

There was no way she could give birth in just a few days.

But still, these two little ones were just so adorable.

The mother and her two children returned home.

When Mrs. Fu saw them return, she told the two little ones to go take a bath.

Qin Keke tugged on her mother’s hand again. "Mama, can brother and I sleep with you tonight?"

Even while securing her own treat, she didn’t forget to secure one for her brother, too.

Fu Mingxue reached out and pinched the little one’s soft, rosy cheek. "Of course you can. We’ll all sleep together tonight."

The two little ones were ecstatic to hear this.

"Yay! Keke and brother get to sleep with Mama!"

Qin Keke loved her sweet-smelling, soft mama the most.

She felt that sleeping with her mama would be the happiest thing in the world.

Qin Hao was happy, too.

"Alright now, hurry up and get to your bath. Otherwise, you’ll have to sleep with Grandma."

The moment Mrs. Fu said this, the two little ones scampered over to her.

Fu Mingxue didn’t need to help the two with their bath.

So, Fu Mingxue went back to her room first.

By the time she’d finished tidying up her desk, the two children, fresh from their bath, came running in.

"Mama, Keke is here to go sleepy-bye with Mama!"

Fu Mingxue looked at the two of them and pointed to the bed. "You two lie down on the bed first. Mama will tell you a story in a bit."

The two little ones were thrilled to hear there would be a story.

They quickly scrambled onto the bed.

Grandma’s room next door had a kang, but this room had a bed—they were completely different.

Fu Mingxue went to take a bath herself.

When she returned to the room, she saw the two children playing on the bed and walked over with a smile.

"Come on, lie down properly now. Mama’s going to tell you a story."

Hearing this, the two little ones quickly laid down properly.

"Mama, what story are you telling today?"

Qin Hao loved listening to his mother’s stories more than anything.

"I’ll tell the one about studying by hanging from a beam and piercing the bone."

Just as she said this, Mrs. Fu happened to push the door open and walk in. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

’What’s this talk about hanging from beams so late at night?’

’The kids are just a few years old. How are they supposed to understand any of that?’

"Here, your blanket is too thin. I’ll add another one for you."

"Mom, I can get that myself."

Mrs. Fu rolled her eyes at her. "Do you even know where the blankets are kept?"

Fu Mingxue: ...?

’How could I not know that? Aren’t they just in the cabinet over there?’
