Han Ruochen, of course, noticed the hatred in the eyes of her mother and chuckled softly. Sure enough, her mother did not even consider where she was wrong; instead, she was quick to blame her. It was clear she did not want to even take out a penny, even though she had saved some money. In her mind, every penny that she earned belonged to Yun Xinye. So, who else could she blame but herself? If her mother wanted, she could always take out some money for pretence, but she was like a miser when it came to spending money on the Han family.
So what was the point of blaming her? Was she the one stopping her from taking money out for their family?
Han Ruochen did not want to waste her time with her mother. She pursed her lips and then headed out of the hospital; with her grandmother and everyone taking care of her father, it did not matter if she stayed with him or not. Unfortunately, she underestimated the mind games that her mother could play when she wanted to get something.
Meng Yunhan watched Han Ruochen leave and curled her lips. It was a good thing that Han Ruochen was gone. She was worried about Han Ruochen staying at the hospital. If this girl had stayed behind, then she would definitely not have allowed Han Ziyan to stay next to Han Yichen. With her gone, the rest would be easier to deal with.
Meng Yunhan curled her lips and then rushed to the cafetaria.
It did not take long for her to find Han Ziyan, as the girl was talking to a doctor and hurried over. "What are you doing?"
Han Ziyan never expected her mother to sneak up on her. She jumped in the air and looked at her mother in shock. "Mom, what are you doing here?"
"What do you think?" Meng Yunhan caught Han Ziyan by her arm and then dragged her out of the cafetaria. "Why are you getting chummy with doctors? I told you to stay by your father’s bedside. Do you want to lose the chance to win his heart? If you lose this chance, then you can forget about getting another chance! Just stay like a dead girl in the Han family and watch your siblings get cosier with your dad."
"Mom, isn’t it because Dad is still unconscious?" Han Ziyan rolled her eyes. She thought that her mother was thinking too much. Han Yichen was still unconscious. So what if she flirted a little with the doctors? Maybe if she were lucky enough, she would be able to catch the eye of a doctor and marry him. She was not young, and with her conditions, Han Ziyan just wanted to find a decent husband.
Meng Yunhan raised her hand and smacked Han Ziyan on the back of her head. "What do you know? It has been more than twenty hours; your father can wake up at any time. You need to stay with him."
"What is the point? Han Xuehan and Han Yong are with him. He will not even care if I stay next to him." Han Ziyan pouted unhappily. She was quite upset with the situation. It would have been better if her father had woken up yesterday. That way, she could have shown off her filial side to him.
Meng Yunhan’s eyes flashed, and she said to her daughter, "Don’t worry, I have a plan to deal with them."
Old Madam Han was old, and she could not stay in the hospital for long. Second Aunt Han also needed to take care of her two children. The two of them would wait for an hour or so before leaving. Once the two of them were gone, she could always make some excuses to send Han Xuehan and Han Yong away. They might be sly, but they were still her children. They couldn’t possibly ignore what she had to say to them.
With the plan formed in her mind, Meng Yunhan was much quieter than usual. Though her silence made everyone unnerved, they could not possibly send her away since she was not causing any trouble.
"Mom, you should come with me and take a nap at home." Second Aunt Han knew that her mother-in-law was worried about her eldest son, but she was also worried about her mother-in-law. Old Madam Han was no longer as young as she used to be. What if she ended up falling sick? These days, her husband was working hard to earn money and collect as much money as possible. She was all alone to take care of Old Madam Han. If something happened to her mother-in-law when she was taking care of her, Second Aunt Han was worried that she would be the one who would be blamed.
Old Madam Han hesitated. Even though she knew that her body was not feeling well, she could not help but glance at Han Ziyan and Meng Yunhan. These two troublemakers were still here. What if she left and they caused trouble for Han Yong and Han Xuehan?
Han Yong also knew that his grandmother was worried about them. He helplessly said, "Grandma, we are fine. You do not need to worry about us; go back home and take some rest. Everything will be fine."
"You two ... better take care of yourselves." Old Madam Han wanted to stay, but she knew that she could not stay for long. She knew her body the best and knew that there was no way she would be able to keep vigil any longer. She could only say a few words to her grandchildren and take her leave. However, before leaving, she did glance at Meng Yunhan and said, "You better not cause any trouble when I am gone; if I hear one thing about you...you will regret it."
Meng Yunhan naturally would not go against her mother-in-law and nodded right away. She was so well behaved that even if Old Madam Han wanted to lose her temper with her, she couldn’t. In the end, she left the hospital thinking to herself that there was no way Han Yong and Han Xuehan would fall for Meng Yunhan’s trap. If only she knew!
