Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 553: True Han Blood
Meng Yunhan also realised that she was the one who had misspoke a little earlier. So even though Han Ziyan’s tone was rude and her words harsh, she did not lose her temper with her. In her eyes, whatever Han Ziyan was saying to her was only for her own good. Her daughter cared about her and didn’t want her to suffer. "Alright, alright, Mom will keep her temper in check from now on, and I won’t lose my temper with that old hag again."
Her Ziyan was right. They were going to steal those fifty thousand yuan anyway, so why was she even bothering to fight with Old Madam Han? Once the money was stolen, she would love to see the expression on that old hag’s face. Maybe she would also mock that old woman for trusting Han Ruochen with so much money. Who asked that old woman to hand over the money to that foolish girl?
Humph, if that old woman had given her the money, then she would have given a share to the rest of the family as well, but Old Madam Han refused; she was not going to take out even a single penny.
On the other side, Old Madam Han had no idea that Meng Yunhan was already planning to take a drastic step. Once the unsightly woman was gone from the front of her eyes, she turned to look at Han Ruochen. "You girl, what were you even thinking? Who asked you to go to that dangerous place?"
"Grandma, there were so many things happening at once and dad—"
"If your dad was going to die, then you should have let him die," sneered Old Madam Han as she glared at her stupid son. "He deserved it after trusting that woman with his life. I really want to crack open his head and see what was going on in his mind when he decided that it was okay to get married to such a restless person. You had so many options; even the daughter of the previous village chief was willing to get married to you. But you refused all of them and brought this unfilial woman into our family. Look at what kind of mess she has created for all of us."
"She is such a shameless woman that she is even targeting the money that Ruochen was rewarded with after putting her own life at risk. What kind of mother does that?" It was one thing that Meng Yunhan had never raised her children with love or affection, but it was another thing that, despite not putting any effort into raising these children, she wanted to enjoy their filial piety.
Han Yichen lowered his head; even if he wanted to quibble with his mother, he knew that it was simply impossible. Because his mother was right in her own place.
When Old Madam Han saw that Han Yichen had grown silent, she snorted and turned around to face Han Ruochen. Raising her hand, she patted Han Ruochen on the shoulder. "Ruochen, I am not going to say anything to douse your enthusiasm. Since you want to take over the docks, then you can do so without worry, but if you cannot manage it, then you might as well leave it alone."
Old Madam Han was aware of the tyranny of Old Scar on the docks. However, she was also not the kind of woman who would ask her granddaughter to hide in her house if she was scared; since Han Ruochen was willing to face the dangers then she would definitely stand by her side, as long as her granddaughter could keep herself safe.
"I know, grandmother; don’t worry. I will not take on any responsibility that I cannot manage," promised Han Ruochen. Her mood was quite jolly after her grandmother took a stand for her. Earlier, even though she did not mention it, she was disappointed that her father had changed his mind about divorce. However, she did not regret what she said to her father last night. She did not want to be blamed in the future, and knowing how much her father liked Meng Yunhan, she knew that if Han Yichen divorced her mother without finding out what good things that she had done in the past, there was a good chance he would feel resentful toward her.
Han Ruochen had lived her past life being blamed left and right. When she got married to the Yang family, her mother-in-law often blamed her for not working hard enough in serving her eldest son, and when she gave birth to her children, they blamed her for being ugly and a cripple. Even though those were not her decisions, she was still blamed for it.
Once she was reborn, Han Ruochen decided that she would never do such a foolish thing where she would be blamed for being in the wrong ever again. People should live their own lives. So even if she was upset, she would not pressure her father into making a decision that he did not want.
Similarly, she would not let anyone stop her from making her own decisions either.
Han Yichen parted his lips. He wanted to stop Han Ruochen from going against Old Scar, but then he recalled what he had done and swallowed his words back.
Of course, Han Ruochen noticed that there was something that her father wanted to tell her, but she did not pay attention to him. Her father had always played it safe, and he had never taken any extra risks, which was why, despite being a pig farm owner, he was not able to do much in his life. If he were as courageous as she was, then he would have gone to the sea with his father.
Hearing her response, Old Madam Han could not help but swell with pride. "You are truly the blood of our Han family. Your grandfather was the same; every time there was a new challenge, he had never backed down and braved it head on with a smile on his lips. He was the kind of man who was never scared of facing risks...unfortunately, both of his sons are idiots."
