She never once considered what kind of trouble, or even disaster, her jealousy and vanity would bring upon herself.

One had to admit, Liu Fanglan might not have been very capable in other areas, but when it came to gossip, her talent for spreading rumors was practically unrivaled.

In just over half a day, the rumor had not only spread throughout the family courtyard and reached the entertainment department, but because it involved Lu Cheng, many people over at the group had heard about it as well.

And as one person told ten, and ten told a hundred, it quickly reached Lu Cheng’s own team. Even his direct superior, Department Head Zhang Yuanjun, had heard the news.

Lu Cheng had never been interested in gossip at the group, but even so, he could sense that his colleagues’ gazes were a little different from usual.

Since it concerned their group leader’s dignity, Lu Cheng’s subordinates didn’t dare ask him about it directly. But that couldn’t stop their imaginations from running wild in private!

These men didn’t think like the women. Many of them had seen Shen Nian before, as word had already spread through Lu Cheng’s team. Everyone was extremely envious that Lu Cheng had managed to marry such a beautiful wife!

The rumor might have presented a few possibilities, but in their minds, they had already completely eliminated the first one.

’Are you kidding? With a wife that beautiful, how could their group leader possibly not like her?!’

’With such a gorgeous and charming wife sleeping right beside him, how could he possibly hold himself back?’

Still, Zhang Yuanjun was curious. He was dying to know if Lu Cheng really had a problem!

After all, he was the department head. Unlike his subordinates, who could only wonder about it in secret, when his curiosity was piqued, he simply summoned Lu Cheng directly to his office.

He’d just ask him to his face! It had to be said, when the department head decided to make trouble, he was much more creative than the people under him!

When Zhang Yuanjun called him over, Lu Cheng thought he was about to be given a work assignment. But when he entered the office, he was met with a teasing look from Zhang Yuanjun, one that was distinctly similar to those of his troublemaking subordinates.

’What on earth was wrong with everyone?’

"So, uh, Lu Cheng! While our company doesn’t meddle in our employees’ private affairs, if a certain... situation... does exist, well, we can’t just ignore it. If there’s really a problem, you should speak up sooner rather than later. Maybe it can still be treated, you know? Wouldn’t you agree?"
