“Lu Cheng, Xiao Nian, you’re finally here!”

The three Chu elders merely nodded at Chu Yunze and Chu Lingxiu before walking right up to Lu Cheng and Shen Nian to greet them warmly.

If many of the guests hadn’t been able to confirm Chu Yunze and Chu Lingxiu’s identities, they would have been left wondering which pair was the true Young Master and Young Miss of the Chu Family.

“Grandpa, Uncle Chu, Aunt Lan, sorry we’re late.”

Lu Cheng and Shen Nian said as they walked up to the three of them.

“Not late at all, not late at all! You’re right on time!”

Despite having just been eagerly awaiting their arrival, the elders immediately shook their heads. Gao Ruolan even went straight to Shen Nian’s side and took her hand.

‘I haven’t seen her in days. I’ve really missed her.’

“Mom, anyone who didn’t know better would think Xiao Nian was your real daughter!”

Chu Lingxiu, of course, saw this display of affection from Gao Ruolan toward Shen Nian. In the past, she might have actually gotten angry. But now that Shen Nian was a good friend she truly approved of, seeing her own mother dote on Shen Nian didn’t make her angry in the slightest. On the contrary, she felt a sense of pride by association.

But Gao Ruolan had no idea what Chu Lingxiu was thinking. Remembering her daughter’s past attitude toward Shen Nian, she grew nervous the moment she heard those words, and her expression changed instantly.

Seeing the change in Gao Ruolan’s expression, Shen Nian knew she must be overthinking things and worrying unnecessarily.

So, Shen Nian smiled, taking Gao Ruolan’s hand in one of hers and Chu Lingxiu’s in the other.

“Aunt Lan, Lingxiu and I are roommates in the same dorm now, and we’re good friends.”

After she spoke, Shen Nian made a point of looking over at Chu Lingxiu and smiling for Gao Ruolan to see.

“Good friends?”

Gao Ruolan knew her daughter’s personality. And while Chu Lingxiu’s behavior had been decent lately, the trouble she’d stirred up before that was still vivid in her memory.

So, hearing Shen Nian suddenly say that she and Chu Lingxiu were now good friends, Gao Ruolan couldn’t quite process it for a moment.

“That’s right, Mom. Xiao Nian and I have made up. We’re good friends now, so you don’t have to worry anymore!”

Chu Lingxiu added with a smile, taking Gao Ruolan’s hand. After speaking, she turned to Shen Nian and flashed a brilliant smile in return.

‘If I had only known that I’d become good friends with Shen Nian, I definitely wouldn’t have stirred up all that trouble before! I would have made friends with her from the very start.’

Seeing that neither Shen Nian nor Chu Lingxiu seemed to be lying, Gao Ruolan’s face immediately lit up with joy.

Meanwhile, Chu Yunze and Lu Cheng had already gone over to greet Chu Zhengwei. Seeing that he was also paying attention to Shen Nian and Chu Lingxiu, Chu Yunze walked to Chu Zhengwei’s side and whispered a brief account of what had happened between the two girls at school.
