Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path
Chapter 1313 - 1314: Photographs
Early the next morning, as Gu Lingling was heading to work, she passed by the gatehouse, "Miss Gu, there’s a letter for you."
Uncle Zhang at the gatehouse called out to her, "It was delivered yesterday evening. I was going to send it to you, but you had already left."
"No rush, thank you, Uncle," Gu Lingling smiled.
"The letter is quite thick," Uncle Zhang said with a smile.
The envelope was stuffed full.
Gu Lingling didn’t know who would be writing to her. Could it be Enen?
The last time she sent a letter, she mentioned the new place Lingling was working at. Maybe that girl sent the letter here.
In her hurry to open the letter, Gu Lingling didn’t notice that the handwriting on the envelope wasn’t Zhao Si’en’s.
When she opened the letter, she was frozen stiff.
The reason the envelope was so thick was because inside, letter paper was wrapped around a stack of photographs.
The photographs were of a man and a woman. The woman in the photos was unfamiliar to her, but the man was someone she knew well.
Yang Yunhai.
There were many photos, taken at different occasions.
Some were of the two attending some banquet together, others were candid shots.
In the photos, Yang Yunhai maintained his usual cold demeanor, but the woman beside him seemed very happy and sweet.
Especially the way the woman looked at Yang Yunhai, Gu Lingling was very familiar with it.
It’s admiration, love, all kinds of emotions.
And these emotions often showed up on her own face.
Gu Lingling could tell that this woman really liked Yang Yunhai.
There was quite a distance from the gatehouse to the office, and Gu Lingling didn’t know how she managed to walk that distance.
"Gu Lingling, what’s wrong?" Liu Ying patted her from behind, noticing Gu Lingling dropped all the photos onto the ground.
"What are these..." Liu Ying asked puzzled.
"It’s nothing." Gu Lingling hurriedly squatted down to pick up the photos, "It’s nothing."
Liu Ying held onto a photo and looked at Gu Lingling with confusion.
"I’m going in first." Gu Lingling snatched the photos from her hand and rushed inside, with Liu Ying’s probing gaze following her back.
The photos depicted a couple who obviously appeared very happy, so why did Gu Lingling seem so distraught?
Could it be the man in the photos is Gu Lingling’s lover?
But they clearly look happy together.
Suddenly, Liu Ying covered her mouth, thinking she might have stumbled upon the truth.
But... doing this isn’t right, breaking up someone’s family is unethical and brings disgrace to their workplace.
When Gu Lingling returned to the office, she locked the photos in the drawer and then went to the restroom to splash cold water on her face to gradually come back to her senses.
She didn’t know Liu Ying had already concocted so many scenarios in her mind.
She lay on the desk, unable to think for a long time until her colleagues started arriving, which finally made her pull herself together.
Originally, she planned to call Yang Yunhai, but as she picked up the phone, she remembered that he mentioned he would be in a closed meeting for some time and would be nearly unreachable.
Sighing, she put down the phone, and didn’t even manage to eat lunch that day.
Though she kept telling herself that there was something wrong with the photos, that Yang Yunhai surely had his reasons, the mere thought of that woman standing confidently beside him, the intimacy resembling a married couple, was unbearably glaring to her.
The feeling of someone coveting her own man was truly distressing.
Yet frustratingly, she couldn’t find anyone to express her anger to at the moment, which was infuriating.
To compound her frustration, Gu Lingling soon encountered the woman from the photos.
