Who would have thought that she hadn’t agreed to Mo Hongying, and the next day someone came knocking on the door.

It was Sister-in-law and Mo Hongying, accompanied by two somewhat older sisters-in-law.

"We watched the program you directed again today, and it’s really wonderful," one sister-in-law said. "We wonder if you could help us put together a program too."

"Don’t worry, when it comes to rehearsals, we’ll handle it ourselves. We definitely won’t take up too much of your time," another sister-in-law said. "Sister, you have to help us, let everyone else in the unit see the charm of us military wives. We are amazing too."

Especially those female soldiers who often look down on military wives, this is a great opportunity to show them.

"Lingling, please agree," Mo Hongying and Sister-in-law also chimed in.

Gu Lingling felt a bit troubled.

"There’s still time, think it over and let us know," the first sister-in-law who spoke said. "We won’t bother you anymore."

That evening when Yang Yunhai returned, he saw her bent over the table writing something. Seeing him back, Gu Lingling put down her pen and smiled, "You’re back."

The lighting in the room was very soft. This kind of day, where someone lights up for you and waits for you to return, is genuinely blissful.

"I’ve already made the meal, just need to stir-fry two more dishes," Gu Lingling said with a smile.

"You go ahead, I’ll do the stir-frying," Yang Yunhai said.

"There’s nothing much to do," Gu Lingling smiled slightly, "I just suddenly had itchy hands."

Brought over a few foreign books, and in the afternoon, she started translating them when she had free time.

"I heard those sisters-in-law came looking for you?" After washing his hands, Yang Yunhai also entered the kitchen and asked her.

"You knew?" Gu Lingling said, "I was just about to ask you, do you think I should take it on?"

"If you like it, then take it on," Yang Yunhai went over and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"I don’t really mind," Gu Lingling said.

Then she recounted Mo Hongying’s issue and what happened with the few people today.

"Inviting trouble?" Yang Yunhai laughed, "You are my wife, Yang Yunhai’s wife, you don’t need to think about these things. You just need to decide if you like it or not."

Seems like that’s true.

Gu Lingling laughed.

"So should I take it on?" she said with a smile.

"I’ll be watching with anticipation," Yang Yunhai gave her a kiss, only to be pushed away by Gu Lingling, "Go stand by the door."

A moment of inattention, and he sneaked in.

Yang Yunhai chuckled indulgently.

Gu Lingling worked quickly, and in no time, three dishes were ready—two meat and one vegetable dish—all of Yang Yunhai’s favorites.

Who knew just as they served the meals, there came a knock at the door.

"I’ll get the door," Yang Yunhai stood up and said.

"Captain Yang." Standing at the door was Jiang Jiuming, "I would like to request leave."

"Alright." Yang Yunhai nodded and signed the leave form he brought over.

Jiang Jiuming seemed to have aged several years.

"What’s wrong?" Gu Lingling asked him.

"Liu Xiaoqin is in our unit’s hospital for pregnancy complications, the situation isn’t too good, so the hospital recommended going to the Military General Hospital in Qin City," Yang Yunhai said.

Gu Lingling nodded.

No wonder Jiang Jiuming looked a bit aged.

"Hope they can keep the baby," Gu Lingling said.

Though she didn’t quite like Liu Xiaoqin, the child is innocent after all.

Yang Yunhai glanced at her without saying a word.

Whether they can keep the baby or not isn’t much related to him, but his girl is just too kind.
