Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't
Chapter 729: The Jennings Family's Perfect Daughter-in-law
Before long, Jasmine Sterling pushed open the conference room door. Upon seeing her, Ivy Winters rose to her feet, her gaze immediately landing on Jasmine.
“Hello.”
With a smile, Jasmine Sterling warmly extended her hand.
She usually dressed a bit more formally for work, but today she happened to be in personal clothes Cecilia had bought for her, an outfit that perfectly accentuated her refined aura.
Ivy Winters smiled gracefully and shook Jasmine Sterling’s hand, her eyes discreetly taking in Jasmine’s entire appearance.
‘To the naked eye, she looks to be about thirty-seven or thirty-eight. A fine disposition and attractive features.’
‘Randall has never been interested in girls much younger than him, so it wouldn’t be surprising for him to fall for a charming, mature woman like her.’
“I’m the one in charge of Cleanscape, and my surname is Sterling,” Jasmine Sterling said, introducing herself before politely asking, “And may I ask your surname, ma’am?”
“Wynn.”
Ivy Winters’s elegance was innate. Having grown up in a scholarly family, she had a naturally gentle and graceful air about her. Even the sound of her voice was as pleasant as a spring breeze.
“A pleasure to meet you, Ms. Wynn. Please, let’s sit and talk.”
Yvonne Sterling silently sat down beside them, watching Ivy Winters with curiosity. Ivy’s posture, even just sitting there, was like something out of a television drama; one could tell at a glance she was a woman of immense refinement.
“Ms. Wynn, have you ever hired a professional cleaning service for your home before? Or does your housekeeper typically handle the cleaning?”
“The housekeeper handles it most of the time,” Ivy Winters explained, “but we do hire a professional service for a deep clean every so often. I heard about your company from someone else, and as I was passing by today, I decided to stop in.”
Jasmine Sterling smiled and nodded. “Although our company was established only recently, our operations are already quite mature. We also have very precise market positioning—we cater to a mid- to high-end clientele.”
“If you don’t mind my asking, what kind of home do you live in?”
“A 460-square-meter flat at The Sovereign Gate.”
Hearing “The Sovereign Gate,” the two Sterling sisters froze for a moment before exchanging a smile.
“What a coincidence, Ms. Wynn. My sister lives at The Sovereign Gate as well.”
Ivy Winters instinctively glanced at Yvonne Sterling. Yvonne’s demeanor was much plainer; compared to Jasmine, you wouldn’t immediately peg them as sisters.
Yvonne Sterling then nodded with a gentle smile and said softly, “I live in Phase Two of The Sovereign Gate.”
Ivy Winters nodded in understanding. “I’m in Phase One. We’re quite close, then.”
Jasmine Sterling steered the conversation back to business. “Ms. Wynn, if you’d like to try our services, I can offer you a complimentary full-house cleaning. Our gold-star team will handle it, allowing you to experience our work firsthand.”
“Really? Thank you.” Ivy Winters was surprised, as she’d heard their services weren’t cheap.
“Of course. It’s an honor that you came to our office in person today. I can sing the praises of my own company and team all day, but you’ll only know how good we are after you’ve tried our service for yourself. So, rather than me just talking it up, I think it’s more practical to let you experience it for free. Wouldn’t you agree?”
A smile touched Ivy Winters’s eyes. “And what if I’m not satisfied?”
“Then that would simply mean our service wasn’t up to standard. Even if you decide not to use our company afterward, we would still welcome your criticism so that we can improve.”
Through that short exchange, Ivy Winters gained some insight into Jasmine Sterling as a businesswoman.
‘She’s very personable and thinks big, not petty in the slightest. I can appreciate that.’
‘My main purpose today was just to meet her, to see for myself what this woman who managed to get into Randall’s life looks like. Getting to know her properly isn’t something that can be done in a brief chat.’
‘This first meeting hasn’t fallen short of my expectations, but I can’t say it’s exceeded them, either.’
‘After all, considering Randall’s caliber, the bar was set very high.’
‘But Ivy Winters also knew that with the Jennings Family’s power and status, Randall had no need for a strategic marriage.’
‘Therefore, Randall’s and the Old Master’s wishes should come first.’
‘For the Old Master, as long as the woman could bear children, that was enough.’
‘And for Randall, his own feelings were what mattered most.’
‘If Jasmine Sterling could satisfy both of those conditions, she would be the perfect daughter-in-law for the Jennings Family.’
Soon, the group emerged from the meeting room. Ivy Winters proactively added Jasmine Sterling on WhatsApp, planning to browse her profile later to get a better sense of her daily life.
“Ms. Wynn, you can decide on the specific service time, but please let me know at least three days in advance so I can make the arrangements. I’m afraid we might not have an available team on short notice.”
“Alright, no problem. We’ll be in touch on WhatsApp. Thank you.”
The two of them chatted as they walked to the main lobby. Just as they were about to say their goodbyes, an unexpected, surprised cry rang out: “Ivy?”
Jasmine Sterling and Ivy Winters instinctively turned to look. In the lobby’s waiting area, they saw Monica Coleman grabbing her bag and rising to her feet. She approached them, her face a mixture of shock and delight. “It really is you, Ivy! Long time no see.”
“Monica?” Ivy Winters was equally delighted. “Long time no see! What are you doing here?”
Monica Coleman glanced at Jasmine and smiled. “Jasmine and I are good friends. I was just passing by to drop something off for her.”
As she spoke, Monica Coleman handed a package to Jasmine Sterling. “It’s our company’s new bird’s nest product. I brought you a case to try.”
“Sorry, Ivy,” she added. “I didn’t know you’d be here, or I would’ve brought an extra case.”
“I have some at home already,” Ivy said. “I had no idea you and Ms. Sterling were good friends. I just stopped by to ask about her cleaning services.”
Hearing this, Monica Coleman immediately chimed in to support Jasmine. “Well, Ivy, you’ve come to the right place! I use Jasmine’s team for my own cleaning, and they’re excellent.”
Ivy Winters smiled and nodded. “With your endorsement, I’m even more confident in her company.”
Jasmine Sterling saw them to the door. Monica Coleman didn’t stay any longer, choosing to leave with Ivy Winters.
Once they were a short distance away, Ivy Winters looked at Monica Coleman and asked, “Monica, how long have you known this Ms. Sterling?”
“Jasmine? We’ve known each other for over half a year now.”
“What do you think of her?”
Monica Coleman faltered, looking confused. “Ivy, why are you asking all of a sudden?”
Ivy Winters gave a self-conscious smile. “Don’t get the wrong idea. Since it’s you, I’ll be honest. I didn’t come here to inquire about cleaning services. I came just to meet her.”
“Jasmine?” Monica was still confused. “Ivy, do you… need to see her about something?”
“I’m here because of Randall. It seems he’s taken a liking to her.”
