Chapter 1348: Blood of the Zhenhou

Wang Qiuyue rolled her eyes and glared fiercely at Bai Wei before turning to Song Wen.
"Ji Yin, since Bai Wei has spoken up, I’ll help you this once. However, purchasing spiritual materials from the sect treasury requires not only merit points but also a substantial amount of spirit stones, which you must provide. Additionally, you must compensate me for the merit points I spend at a rate of ten high-grade spirit stones per point."
"Fellow Daoist Wang, I will never forget this kindness," Song Wen said, his face lighting up with joy. He flipped his hand and produced a storage ring, offering it to Wang Qiuyue. "This is all the spirit stones I can currently offer. Will it be sufficient?"
Wang Qiuyue accepted the storage ring and examined its contents. A flicker of surprise crossed her face.
"Hmph! A full million high-grade spirit stones? You certainly have deep pockets."
"I have exhausted my entire fortune," Song Wen replied.
His words were no exaggeration. He had less than a hundred thousand high-grade spirit stones left on his person.
The reason he could produce such a large sum was due to his recent victories over Jian Xiao, Wei Gu, Wu Bo, and Wu Shandie, all of whom had been quite wealthy.
Wang Qiuyue ignored Song Wen’s remark and instead took the jade slip from Bai Wei’s hand.
"Let me first see what spiritual objects you require. If they are too rare, even a million spirit stones might not be enough."
After examining the jade slip, she continued, "The spirit stones should suffice. However, the ’Blood of the Zhenhou’ listed here is absolutely unavailable in the sect treasury. You’ll need to find another way to obtain it."
"Fellow Daoist Bai, Fellow Daoist Wang, do either of you know where I might find a Zhenhou?" Song Wen asked.
Bai Wei shook her head. "I’ve only read about Zhenhou, a thunder-attribute divine beast, in ancient texts. I’ve never heard of anyone actually seeing one in person. There likely isn’t a single Zhenhou within the Southern Nether Continent."
"Ji Yin, if you want to find a Zhenhou, you’ll have to seek out one person," Wang Qiuyue said mysteriously. "If she doesn’t know where to find one, then likely no one in the entire Southern Nether Continent possesses such information."
"Oh? And who might this esteemed expert be, Fellow Daoist Wang?" Song Wen inquired.
"Ying Wu," Wang Qiuyue replied.
"You mean True Lord Yingwu of the Myriad Swords Pavilion?" Song Wen asked.
"Precisely," Wang Qiuyue explained slowly. "Ying Wu adores raising and manipulating all sorts of demon beasts. The rarer and more powerful the creature, the greater her interest. She also possesses the most comprehensive knowledge of demon beasts in the entire Southern Nether Continent."
Song Wen immediately recalled that he still possessed a void fiend—the Beauty Serpent—and that Ying Wu had been actively searching for this very creature. By using the Beauty Serpent as leverage, he should be able to easily obtain clues about the Zhenhou from Ying Wu, or even directly trade for the Blood of the Zhenhou.
"Thank you for the information, Fellow Daoist Wang," Song Wen said gratefully.
After chatting for a while longer, the four parted ways.
Only Song Wen left Great Tan City alone. Lan Chen accompanied Bai Wei and Wang Qiuyue to the Spirit Jade Palace.
Thousand Blades City.
Song Wen stood high above the city, gazing southwest toward a mountain range hundreds of miles away—the location of the Myriad Swords Pavilion.
His brow furrowed as a thorny issue suddenly occurred to him.
He had never met Ying Wu before. How was he supposed to arrange a meeting?
Just as Song Wen was considering sending a message to Mo Yexue, he spotted a familiar figure among the crowd of people flying through the sky.
Ke Zheng!
Ke Zheng looked hurried as he soared through the air, eventually landing outside a luxurious courtyard in the city center.
Several scantily clad, beautiful women stood before the courtyard’s gate, striking provocative poses and teasing passersby.
Upon seeing Ke Zheng approach, the women rushed forward, chattering excitedly as they ushered him into the courtyard.
Song Wen glanced at the plaque above the gate: Charm Immortal Pavilion.
Since I have no other leads, I might as well follow Ke Zheng and see what happens. If I get a chance to settle our old score, all the better.
With this thought, Song Wen gradually descended, landing outside the Charm Immortal Pavilion.
"Welcome, esteemed guest! Please come in!"
Two beautiful women rushed forward, each taking Song Wen’s arm and escorting him through the main gate.
Beyond the gate lay a straight corridor stretching a hundred zhang inward, leading to a small lake.
Wooden boats of varying sizes floated on the lake, each carrying scantily clad women moving among them.
From a pavilion by the lake emerged a middle-aged woman, clearly the madam of the brothel.
A brothel of the Charm Immortal Pavilion’s scale would naturally have more than one madam. Indeed, several women dressed similarly to her could be seen in the pavilion she had just left.
The madam approached Song Wen with a wide smile.
"Young master, you’re new here. Is this your first time at the Charm Immortal Pavilion?"
"I just arrived in Thousand Blades City and happened to see this place," Song Wen replied. "I thought I’d take a look."
"Then you’ve come to the right place, young master! Our girls are all as beautiful as flowers and as enchanting as the moon, brimming with charm. I guarantee you’ll find pleasure that will leave you utterly captivated, a joy surpassing even the bliss of the immortals."
As the madam spoke, the two maidens had already withdrawn.
She replaced one of the maidens, pressing her ample bosom against Song Wen’s arm.
"Young master, we have many flower boats here, each offering different amusements. You can watch the ladies dance gracefully, listen to the music of silk and bamboo, enjoy tea and chess, or try your luck at gambling... Which flower boat would you like to board?"
"What’s that flower boat for?" Song Wen asked, pointing to the largest vessel on the lake.
Ke Zheng had boarded that very boat earlier.
"Our Charm Immortal Pavilion has a newly arrived courtesan queen, Fairy Zhizhen," the madam explained. "Today is her coming-of-age ceremony, the Hairpin Ceremony. It’s being held on that boat, drawing many distinguished guests eager to spend fortunes and win her favor."
Though Song Wen was new to the Charm Immortal Pavilion, he wasn’t entirely naive.
The madam’s "Hairpin Ceremony" had nothing to do with a girl’s coming-of-age ritual.
It was simply a marketing ploy by the Charm Immortal Pavilion to earn more spirit stones. Fairy Zhizhen had been trained to perfection and was now ready to receive clients.
"Let’s go to that flying ship," Song Wen said.
"Very well, young master," the madam replied, her smile as radiant as a blooming flower.
Having another wealthy patron to support Fairy Zhizhen was naturally a welcome prospect.
Guided by the madam, Song Wen boarded the largest flower boat.
Upon entering the ship tower, he was immediately struck by the vast hall, stretching over half a kilometer wide.
The hall was furnished with over a hundred wooden tables, most of which were already occupied.
At the far end of the hall stood a raised wooden platform.
On the platform, a dozen women danced gracefully.
"Fairy Zhizhen won’t appear until the You Hour, which is still about half an hour away. Why don’t I fetch a couple of girls to keep you company while you enjoy a few drinks, young master? What do you say?" the madam suggested.
"Very well," Song Wen nodded in agreement.
"Any unoccupied table is yours to take," the madam said before withdrawing.
Song Wen’s gaze swept across the hall, spotting Ke Zheng at a table in the front row, surrounded by three women.
However, the other tables near Ke Zheng were already occupied.
He settled for an empty table in the back row.
