Chapter 232 - 2.109 [New Sub Bonus] A New Era of Demon

Eris didn’t mind Diana knew, nor did Pride. The six of them stood talking about it and decided it would be best to tell the party another day. They just eliminated a race, aside from Ox and Mindy, from the world and Mindy was a hybrid to begin with. Ox was gay he wasn’t going to reproduce unless the gods were able to give him pure werewolf serum, but Nyx wasn’t the type to just hand things out. She was one of the few goddesses not at the wedding.

Diana explained their team had an unfair advantage with Bishop’s clones, but Xander and her were competitive. They were able to share power with their party members and saved some for the parents and kids that were left behind.

"Well, I didn’t want to just leave everyone out. I know uncle Iggy and Uncle Lucious really wanted to fight, so it didn’t seem fair to just keep it all for myself or our group. It’s not like it was a really difficult fight."

"Well, it’s the power you absorb so technically it will always be up to you with what you do with it. Just remember after the war is over this isn’t something you’ll be doing, unless something else happens and Athena sends you somewhere." Eris said calmly.

"I really don’t see that happening. Well, at least I hope you and I finally get to rest and enjoy our own realm in Paradise and watch the little ones grow up." Pride said with a large smile.

"Just two and a half months."

"Just make sure they don’t grow up like I did, please." Xander laughed. "I’m not complaining, I have great parents, the party was amazing but losing control of time sucked."

"Well, you were the one who wanted to leave," Brie laughed.

"I know Mom, but 8 years was enough plus I didn’t want Emery and Emma to grow up separated especially when we have kids they can grow up with, even if they are going to be older, quicker. The training every day with Athena was amazing though." Xander smiled.

"Well, we should probably get back and let them know how we’re doing?" Sora asked.

Diana drew a portal to the mansion and met with everyone there. Everyone was relaxed. Diana and Xander went around and shared power with the parents and were very careful with the little ones. Even Emery and Emma got some.

Two weeks passed with consistent training and dungeon clearing. They started getting back into a routine of mixing and matching teams to push their limits. If Mindy was going to fight, she needed the most room to grow so she cleared a few B ranked, safe to retreat from dungeons with Xander, Diana and Bishop.

Everyone else cleared S ranked and Pride informed them of another demon dungeon they weren’t aware of. It was SS ranked and hidden, but it wouldn’t be anything like the monolith and there likely weren’t any remaining demons, other than the boss floors left.

"Shouldn’t we talk to Julius and Rissa first?" Sora asked.

"Fair point. It’s so weird without them being around." Pride said calmly.

"Yeah... I wonder how they’re doing?" Xander asked.

Julius and Rissa had a hard time the first week adjusting to life as King and Queen of the demons. With so many of the peaceful ones living in Sorbella, many of the demons that remained and weren’t wiped out wanted to fight.

There were other demons that were too poor to move, so they spent most of their time doing whatever they could with Celeste to completely recreate the city. A few demons, like Julius Uncle, moved back to help run the shops and because he was funded by the Savior party, handed out free flesh and blood every day to the families in need.

Many of the demons rejected Rissa. Julius continued to promote her as his equal, but it was starting to weigh on her a bit until Brie surprised her with a vist.

"Hey Riss! I know things can be a little difficult when you aren’t exactly welcomed." Brie said with a small smile.

"Can’t you just charm them?" She said with a playful nudge.

"If only it were that easy. They just don’t see me as their queen, I’m not a demon." Rissa frowned.

"Well, have you been out and about supporting the people?"

"Every day. Julius even had him and I hand out flesh and blood to the families in need, some of them are coming around, it’s just exhausting. I don’t know how you and Sora make it look so easy, honestly." Rissa shrugged, still a bit sad.

"It’s not easy, we just rely on each other. The new Obsidian Hollow looks great, though! They can’t be that angry with you if you’re helping them thrive rather than barely getting by."

"There are days when I think all the people hate me and there are others where life feels fine but Julius has been great. He always listens and makes time for me even though he’s practically flooded by every demon, especially the women, that live here."

Brie laughed. "Oh I remember when Sora and I got engaged, all the women turned on me. I felt like the most hated person in Exteria. Sasha was there for me though, so if you need someone, we have plenty of people for you. You’re close with Diana aren’t you?"

"Yeah, but she should get to spend some time with Xander. They told me everything they went through in Paradise and honestly, I don’t know how they even managed to do that!"

"Oh, that reminds me! I need to get you caught up on Eris and Pride!"

Brie explained everything that Eris and Pride went through and how much time they spent apart or hiding their relationship. Rissa was shocked. She didn’t feel so bad about herself anymore after hearing everything they had to go through.

"Maybe I should just talk to Diana and see if her and Xander will come here and help. Maybe if they see some gods around, they’ll lighten up a bit."

"That’s a really good idea. I’ll have them swing by tomorrow. I think Xander would love to get out of the Mansion anyway. Funny, right? Kid wanted to get back there so badly he manipulated time but now he wants to get out and see the world he watched from Paradise."

Rissa laughed. "Yeah, but he’s an adult god now. Just crazy."

"Hey Mom!" Julius exclaimed while walking up. This caused several demons to turn their heads as he grabbed Rissa’s hand and gave her a kiss.

"Mom? I thought your mother gave up your life for you to get out of here?" One of the demons asked.

"Brie and Sora adopted me and Sasha’s parents turned my wife into a Valencia. Why else do you think Rissa has the last name Lockheart?"

A large group of demons overheard and were surprised.

"You never told us she was a Lockheart!"

Rissa smiled. ’Maybe this is what I needed to change everything. Jules is amazing.’
