Chapter 247 - 3.4 Twins To The Rescue

Sora and Brie continued to work together flawlessly and kept defeating different types of enemies, only to watch them regenerate and continue attacking them. There wasn’t a better duo in the Universe, not even Pride and Eris had the chemistry the Lockheart couple had from how much time they’d spent together over the past 14 total years. They weren’t struggling, but they weren’t making much progress either.

"We could really use Jubelle right about now..." Sora said standing back to back with his wife.

"I say we just start trying to drain power from each color until we guess right, you up for it babe?"

"Yup! Let’s start with the green ones first. They seem to be middle of the pack types so maybe we can get a power draw while killing some of the enemies."

They continued to hack and slash them apart and when the opportunity presented itself, they tried to absorb the power.

"No luck on the green ones. Maybe we should try this?" Brie said while chopping its head off. Another head simply grew in its place and the limbs wouldn’t stop attacking.

Sora used one of his spells to impale it through the heart and it finally went limp.

"Green means we have to get rid of the heart." He said with a smirk while grabbing the limp body.

"No power from it though. I bet the soul just recycles back to the Underworld and we’re going to have an endless horde of these abominations to fight. Hopefully the others are starting to figure out some type of pattern."

"Sora babe, what do we do? Celeste just sent out a telepathic message that Primrose lost a bunch of innocent people due to a tsunami by Poseidon. Where do we send people to protect them?"

"Let’s think about this logically, sweetheart. There are so many different types of enemies and Poseidon keeps attacking then immediately leaving. Clearly they are trying to get us to scatter our party while grouping up the innocent people. Ignis is close enough to a god, he’s a phoenix. We need to spread ourselves out and have the others fill in as support."

"So, let’s send a group of gods to each area and include Ignis as one, is what you’re saying Sora?"

"Yes, Xander and Diana can protect Obsidian Hallow, Ignis can handle the settlement, you and I will go to Haven and Celeste will handle Primrose. Let’s have her send the orders out. The rest of the party should split into groups to assist. Divide and conquer." Sora said as he gave Brie a quick kiss.

"There are so many of these creepy things!" Brie said while a group of 100 came their way.

"Any guess as to what the red pupiled ones will try?" Sora asked.

’Lockheart’s Reign,’ Brie thought and manipulated the magical bubble into the air until it burst. The tiny droplets cause their bodies to incinerate and Sora teleported to them quickly.

"Brie, QUICK!" Sora said while absorbing the power. "Red we can steal from."

"Xander, Diana. You can absorb power from the red ones. Green needs impaling through the heart or rip it out." Sora said calmly.

"Black ones need a clean decapitation Dad!" Xander said while engaged in battle.

"Great job, we’re holding off this massive wave with just the 6 of us but we’re going to have to change things up. We’re going to Haven, if you need us, just ask," Brie said. "I love you two!"

"Love you too!" Diana and Xander said.

"Got it all, Uncle Connor knows but we’re coming!" Emma said cheerfully.

"Mom and Dad, we have something we want to try." Emery said confidently.

"Ready Bro?!"

"Ready Sis!?"

"Twin Magic: Celestial Link!"

"Hello?" Pride asked telepathically.

"Woah... did you just connect our entire party, even in Paradise?! Way to go you two!" Xander said excitedly.

"Not only that, they managed to somehow get me in on the conversation," Athena said kindly.

"It’s nice to formally meet all of you."

"Woah, it’s our Majesty!" Shawn said nervously. "The pleasure is all ours. Sora, what’s the plan bud?"

"Ignis, you’re the closest thing to a god we have on the planet. You take the settlement."

"That would be great help," Dorian said with a laugh. "How did your children manage to link people not in your party?"

"He’s right. The Steeles, Smiths are also on this link right now. You two are something else!" Diana said excitedly. She could sense the souls.

"Thank you for saving us from the Tsunami," Jackson said calmly.

"Us as well. I can’t believe it was Poseidon all along. No one could have guessed that," Mr. Steele said.

"I agree. But we need any intel any of you have. Jubelle, have you noticed anything yet?" Sora asked calmly and the rest of the group stopped to listen.

"Nothing more than you already know unfortunately. Connor has everything documented at central command so if I see anything, I will update you. I’m trying to find where Poseidon keeps teleporting to but I’m not having any luck."

"There is a strong possibility you need to look beyond the planet," Sora said calmly.

"Remember, Paradise gives you a beautiful view of four different Universes and hundreds of planets. They could be hiding anywhere. Remember how many planets they took over?"

"That’s a great point!" Athena said cheerfully. "Do you think they’d actually hide on a planet they took over though?"

"Probably not," Jubelle said calmly. "Keep fighting and we’ll let you know."

"Ignis, head to the settlement. Celeste stay in Primrose. Brie and I will take Haven. We need to make sure we have a god or as close to a god as we can in each area," Sora said calmly.

"On it." Ignis said and immediately teleported to Jax.

The groups played a balancing act of using who they had available to fight versus who was in Paradise. As things continued to fight, they agreed they needed to set up a rotation to rest. The party members in Paradise were starting to get restless. They felt like they weren’t doing enough, but every time Pride or Eris looked at their little ones it made it that much harder to just go down into the war torn planet.

Fortunately, the party caught a break. All of the creations disappeared and the members in Paradise couldn’t track them either.

"It seems like Hades’ creations can’t just fight 24 hours a day. That’s very good news." Sora said to Brie, who looked exhausted.

"If they could, there’s no way we could win this war, but how do you feel babe? Are you ok mentally?" Brie asked while hugging and kissing his cheek.

"I’m good. I promise if anything changes you’ll be the first to know. I’m proud of our children. What they accomplished today could very well be the difference in this entire war."

Brie smiled. "I know. The ability to communicate telepathically with so many people at once at three years old!"

"Oh, Rissa just disengaged our link. That form, even for me, is exhausting." Sora said with a small smirk.

"Well let’s potion up and rest up. Tomorrow will be another day of chaos."

Brie grabbed Sora’s hand and teleported back to the mansion. They tucked the twins in, told them how proud they were of them and touched base with Connor before they fell fast asleep, cuddled up, just like they did all those years ago.
