Chapter 794 - 794: A fundamentally special kind of fight (part 16)

As impressive of a scenery as the previous sounded, the effect wasn't over, because the pattern which had been engraved into the ground, space and the gate itself which was smacked against the ground, then… lit up in grey silver flames.

"Aghhh!", as a result the gate which had yet to show any signs of receiving noticeable damage, given that earlier when the shockwave of Aisha's lightning exploding against its barrier, which sent it flying a few meters into the distance, nor being caught in the energy explosion from its battle spell and Aisha's javelin, didn't make it feel any pain, actually screamed this time.

It was for a good reason though, a part of the seal's pattern, the blade of the sword held by the fully armored female figure in it, to be more accurate, had been engraved on the gate's left leave and was now burning in grey silver flames.

'What the hell is this, the "Heavenly Harbinger" innate ability that high tier ranked gates have, reduces the pain received due to wounds caused by enemies in relation with their level of existence when compared to ours, so even if that war goddess was in her prime, just a burn like this, shouldn't hurt this damn much!', shouted the gate to his insides as he used magic aura to further empower said innate ability to which Freya coldly snorted, as if she could read that guy's mind, she said.

"Pain blocking techniques are useless in front of the "flames of war", so save your energy for other things".

To the horror of the gate, the valkyrie girl wasn't bluffing, no matter how much energy he destinated to his innate ability, the pain didn't diminish in the slightest, so he instead directly used magic aura to pour out the flames, which did work.

The flames went out after making the gate use a whole bunch of magic aura, even then, a burnt "scar" was engraved on the gate's left leave now, and the gate was feeling though minimal, noticeable burning pain from it which didn't disappear.

"So you had a damn negative oriented affinity, not what I expected considering the "upright" standing you are projecting, war goddess", mockingly said the gate which would have probably bothered Freya… before meeting Daimon, and more importantly before fighting side to side with Aisha.

Because now Freya had completely accepted that her "war" related powers were neither evil nor good, it all depended on how they were used, not to mention that her metal and fire affinities were actually of extreme positive orientation, the gate simply didn't think that was the case, because it's easier for extreme negative elements to gain advantage over extreme positive ones with just a small difference in power and the same applies the other way around.

In other words, the gate thought that Freya could overwhelm his magic aura with her energy, because it was of extreme negative orientation against his extreme positive one and she was receiving help from the blood prison realm, but that was not the case, Freya's metal and fire energy's orientation was simply much more extreme positive than the gate's magic aura, which was of light and metal affinity by the way.

It's not that weird if you think it through, all the hero related gates are positive oriented, but that's not something they "earned" nor does it "suit" their personalities, it's just an innate property.

Freya on the other hand, could have developed either towards negative or positive sides, because her war power doesn't lean towards neither by itself, and yet as you could see from the stand, she took back at her native place and how much she tried to protect those that couldn't fight for themselves, she clearly developed towards the positive extreme of the spectrum.

Long story short, a "hypocrite" that didn't practice what they preached like this gate guy, would originally never be a match for Freya in terms of positive energy orientation, and her original weakness which was the resent she developed towards the source of her own powers, is being turned into potential for her through her challenge, so yeah.

Of course, the valkyrie girl wasn't going to explain everything to the gate, she limited to gaze at it with disdain, which mate the gate get triggered.

"So what if you have some especial traits and the support of this stupid place, I'm going to exchange your damn corpse for merits to raise in rank!", shouted the gate as it opened a crack in space, which sucked him into it, to then spit him out above Freya.

"Sacred Judgement Burning Palms!", this time the gate openly called his magic art, enduring the pain that opening its "scarred" left leave brought to him, the gate made two armored arms whose hands were glowing in a familiar looking yellow light advance towards the valkyrie girl which caught Aisha's attention from afar.

But before we get to that, Freya softly snorted at the incoming giant magic aura arms, with a snap of her fingers, the burnt mark on the gate glowed in a grey silver light and the left arm of the enemy's magic avatar… crumbled apart on the spot.

"Crack!", first a shattering sound echoed through the battlefield, followed by an explosion because the magic art of the gate was interrupted, and since it used both of the magic avatar's palms as the casting spot, when one crumbled apart so did the other due to backslash.

"Booooom!".

"Agh!", the gate was engulfed by an energy explosion caused by his own magic art misfiring which made him let out a pained scream, it was a short-lived one though since his own magic aura didn't hurt as much as Freya's energy.

'What did that bitch do!', inwardly cursed the gate as it closed its left leave, upon a close inspection he felt the power of a rule invading its body through the burnt mark.

That was the law in the seal technique used by Freya which is "confiscation", basically it forbid the enemy from using a part of their power, in this case Freya had chosen the gate's left arm, which came out from the left leave, so when he used it, the law activated and the magic art which required both arms was destroyed.

A lot of people think that the cruelest part of war is done in the frontline, but that's not necessarily true, a stamp on a piece of paper handled way behind the frontline in a seemingly normal office, can decide the lives or deaths of countless people after all, and that was the origin of the "seal" effect technique used by Freya.

"My friend is assisting me with an army and while I can't do the same, I can reciprocate by taking away your left arm", said Freya to then add.

"Location Reinforcement", this time she skipped casting the ally banner part and directly used the activation command, because the ally banners were already in the records, they were considered a "victory" because the result of changing places with Aisha was positive, since they both bested their enemies after the previous.

Banners did appear behind of those two though, and the words engraved on them which were their names burned down and changed places, followed by Aisha and Freya doing the same.

"I originally found "funnier" beating up the little jealous mermaid, but now there is something on your end that has caught my interest, I wonder where did you obtain that yellow colored light affinity", said Aisha who appeared in front of the gate, with a smile that wasn't a smile on her pretty face.

Light affinity can result in different tones of light, as in different tones of white or yellow mostly, there are some exceptions like Daimon's demon light which is of a white with an ashen grayish hue to it, result of having darkness and light mixed into the same element.

But the tone doesn't always mean different properties, support type light can be white like the one used by Jasmine, and attack type light can also be white like the one used by Loren.

So far there is only one type of light which Aisha knows is always of the same exact color and has the exact same properties, and that is the one that the light faction back at the four galaxies started using, in other words "corrosive light".

A type of light that causes severe pain to any living being with an existence oriented towards the negative extreme of the spectrum, which was also the type of light that Adam used in his battle aura.

However, Aisha never associated the creation of the corrosive light with him, because that element appeared way before, while there was still a war going on in the open at the four galaxies, she herself participated in said war after all and as a vampire, some fools tried to use it against her thinking that they would suppress her with it.

But of course, they died and in such a stupid way, since Aisha has the "daywalker", lineage thus mithril and extreme positive energies are not especially effective against her, she had no "weakness" except for the one that everyone has, which would be to be faced with an overwhelmingly stronger enemy and even then, that wouldn't mean death for that talented silver haired vampire girl, she stood up against a half emperor and successfully escaped with Daimon by using a forbidden spell after all.

Aisha only died because of the manticore and that was not a "natural" happening, given that it was a situation likely caused by the awakening trial for Daimon, which Eve couldn't control as she wasn't with him until it had happened.

"Humph, just because you have lightning and metal affinities, you think you can obtain "judgement light" affinity, know your place mortal!", said the gate as it opened only its right leave this time, after suffering a loss at the hands of Freya's technique which hadn't dissipated yet considering that even after putting lots of magic aura, the burnt pattern could probably activate another time.

This time, the gate only made the right arm of its magic avatar come out, but unlike before, there was an extra element in play here, namely a replica, a battle axe which was a promise level treasure based on the aura it radiated to be more accurate, that the gate slashed at Aisha who smirked as she said.

"You say that but I don't see you using an energy type magic art, are you a "high and mighty" mass produced lapdog from the system, worried that my royal decree would stop it like it happened to Karla?".

"Go to hell damn mortal bitch, Sacred Judgement Holy Edge!", shouted the gate as he indeed used a magic art, but it wasn't an energy attack type one, but a boosting one to empower the battle axe replica

"Heh, getting serious against a "mortal" aren't we, I'll play along since you are a "hero", then it is only fair that I take the role of a "demon" right?", mockingly said Aisha as she snapped her fingers.

"Majestic White Empress, Heavenly Royal Demon Sword", with a few words, the violet blood stars and the moon as well as the silver firmament shone as they released pillars of the energy they each represented which concentrated and landed in a selected area of the demonite field.

At "Plan B" level of strength Aisha couldn't use the three domains at the same time, but two domains and three energies were fine, and since when has Aisha allowed limitations to restrict her, she stood up against a half emperor, not an early stage one but a middle stage one, as an Arch rank, after all.

As a result of the energy released by the violet blood stars and the silver firmament landing on the demonite field, a fifty-kilometer sized white metal sword with a violent line pattern, crackling in silver lightning descended from above floating in front of Aisha, just in time for the battle axe replica to land on it.

"Crack!!!", a deafening shattering sound echoed through the whole battlefield as the battle axe… exploded upon clashing its edges with the blade of the royal demon sword.

"What!", the gate nearly lost it on the spot, that was a magic aura replica of a promise level treasure, which was further empowered with a boosting magic art.

'Are you kidding me, the Mountain Battle Axe was a promise level treasure that was given to someone with a concept on par with Karla's host!', he thought.

The gate originally thought that Aisha was trying to bluff her way into making him stop his attack, because the battle axe was around twenty kilometers large "only" but the royal demon sword was fifty kilometers large, on the other hand the silver haired mortal was clearly a mage main path powerhouse, so techniques with bigger areas of effect were nothing to be surprised at.

So, you can guess his surprise when his battle axe which was the one attacking crumbled apart against the enemy's technique which was just floating there crackling in lightning, now imagine his expression when Aisha beckoned at the gate with disdain in her eyes as she said.

"Go", with a single word, the giant white metal sword moved as fast as a lightning as it slashed the gate which was also fifty kilometers large, diagonally.

"Boooooom!", the silver lightning crackling around the sword released a thunderous sound as it impacted the gate, and the energy explosion blasted the gate down into the abyss below the battlefield.

"AGHhhhh…", a scream which faded away as the gate was engulfed by the abyss below the battlefield was the result of the previous, Aisha was smart, though her domain covered a relatively large space, she knew that attack was going to make the giant gate fly quite the distance, so she directed the slash downwards, to prevent the gate from clashing with the limit of her domains.

And as the old saying goes, "great minds think alike", because a grey silver flame sphere out of which a hatred-filled pained voice came, could be seen flying downwards into the abyss as well.

"Freya you fucking bitch, I'm going to kill you!!!", that was the mermaid-siren which was also blasted into the distance, by the valkyrie girl, almost at the same time as Aisha did the same to the gate.

To understand how this happened we must go back a couple minutes in time, the same battlefield but on Freya's end.

After the valkyrie girl used her location reinforcement, Freya appeared where Aisha was floating a second ago, the demon army didn't leave alongside Aisha though, so the mermaid-siren was being swarmed by the metal armored figures.

'Damn it, that bitch's battle avatar is even larger than before', cursed Karla as she gritted her teeth and actually charged at the demon army who used their lightning swords to slash the mermaid-siren from every direction.

"Hssssss!", the lightning swords produced sizzling sounds as they passed through the air, followed by loud explosive noises when they reached Karla and landed on her body.

"Booooom!", dozens of thunder-like explosions were released as the mermaid-siren was slashed by the demon army.

"Ack, it hurts damn it", cursed Karla with a low voice, but she didn't defend nor pay attention to the demon army, even when the lightning swords left burning marks on her body, she just kept charging at Freya.

Surprisingly she wasn't cut down to pieces by the lightning swords, because her wings were boosting her body through that promise level battle spell, so the swords did leave burns and shallow cuts on her but that was it, the pain was real though.

And more importantly, it was weird that the mermaid-siren allowed the demon army to cut her when she has been wearing them down constantly by shooting battle spell arrows at them, to the point that the demon army had shrank more than a third of its original size to repair themselves in a small window of time.

"Crack!", a second surprise came in the form of the members of the demon army which had cut and burn Karla, suddenly crumbling apart to then be unable to repair themselves, that left only around six members of the demon army which hadn't managed to successfully attack the mermaid-siren, still on the battlefield.

'That felt like when my techniques crumbled apart after being used against Karla earlier, even when they still had uses left', thought Freya as she said.

"I see, so that's what the promise level innate passive ability mentioned by Aisha, does", to which Karla maniacally laughed.

"Don't tell me you are going to shy away from the fight now Freya, come on, try and attack me with that stupidly strong and ungraceful battle avatar of yours!", exclaimed the mermaid-siren.

The last of her three promise level creations was in which she used the most of the origin she had obtained as well as most of the material of the trident, it was a passive innate ability called "Mythical Storm Curse", which basically allowed her to destroy whatever causes her damage, of course she needs to consume a certain amount of battle mana for the previous to work, the more damage she suffered the less battle mana was needed for it.

That's how she destroyed Freya's techniques earlier, because even when blocking them, she still took damage, she was just recovering from it fast enough to not be noticeable because after becoming a hero candidate she had recovered a part of her lost existence, not the whole half, but a quarter of it, the remaining quarter was being made up with her hero candidate status.

In a sense, the previous passive innate ability was incredibly compatible with Karla, because she could even recover from being sliced into blood cubes, so if she purposedly dived into the enemy's techniques she could directly cancel them and then reach them, the only problem is that the idea was for the nether based powers she had taken to nullify pain, but that didn't work in front of Aisha or Freya, so the combo didn't work as she had planned.

"Conceptual Banner Winning Record", seeing Karla charging at her, Freya directly manifested the sword, spear and the winged boots which had all crumbled apart earlier.

"Mythical Black Storm Sea, Tempest Torrent Calamity Charge!", shouted Karla as she turned into a blue-green shooting star that flashed towards Freya's battle avatar, the idea was not hard to understand, she wanted the battle avatar to directly cause her damage, so that she could obliterate it, since that would cause backslash to Freya, an opening she could use to lethally wound the valkyrie girl.

"Clang!", but of course Freya wasn't going to follow her lead, the valkyrie girl used the shaft of her spear to smack Karla away, but she blocked the direct impact with her blue metal spear, the impact still forced the mermaid-siren backwards, just in time for Freya to slash the sword this time, releasing a slashing light which Karla this time blocked using her boosted wings to hug her body.

"Boooom!", the clash produced a loud explosion which was followed by both the sword and the spear crumbling apart, but instead of stopping, Freya further pressured the mermaid-siren, by using the winged boots to flash from her previous position, appearing above Karla.

"Do you want to see who will blink first, let's put that to test then, will I exhaust myself due to attacking you or will your mind break down due to pain", said the valkyrie girl

"Reenactment of Conflict", with those words, the spear and the sword which had just crumbled apart were recreated and Freya slashed and thrusted them both at the same time this time.

"Black Mythical Wings, Storm Emblem!".

"Mythical Black Storm Sea, Tempest Wing Barrier!", using both her boosting promise level battle spell and her wings, Karla protected herself from the incoming attacks.

"Clang!", the slash accompanied by the severing law as well as the thrust accompanied by the piercing law landed on Karla's wings and were blocked.

"Crack!", the mythical storm curse then did its part and the sword and spear crumbled apart, only for Freya to… recreate them on the spot.

"Booooom!", continuous explosions were produced as Freya fiercely continued to slash and thrust her sword and spear at Karla who pretty much like a turtle hid in her "shell", the difference is that she was feeling each and every hit that landed on her wings, though the weapons responsible of it were being destroyed, what's more Freya's attacks weren't weakening but… getting stronger.

'What the hell, why is she not running out of damn battle aura, no wait did her battle avatar grow once again!', inwardly exclaimed Karla.

She was right, Freya's battle avatar had now reached twelve kilometers of height, and accompanied by this new size, a new application of the good old first technique she obtained, was "unlocked".

"Conceptual Banner", said Freya, the knight and mage banners appeared and the mage one lost.

"Conflict!", with the command, the banners energy turned into a giant flaming Warhammer which was then smacked at Karla.

"Crack!", the mermaid-siren's strongest defense shattered on the spot.

"Bleeegh!", the impact made Karla vomit blood, before she was engulfed by grey silver flames, as she was sent flying downwards into the abyss and that's where were at earlier.
