Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer
Chapter 1570: Carmen Commander Battle Part 5
"The opponents probably figured out how we can sustain by now, Commander." Sweet Sky commented.
One or two supply chains failing to deliver might not be that suspicious. But afterward, it would become too obvious.
Moreover, there was bound to be communication involved between them.
"It’s expected," Carmen said in a calm voice. This kind of scenario was also in the simulation practice. To snatch away the resource supplies sent by the opponent and disrupt them while boosting yourself was a strategy.
It was such a good tactic, but it only works well when the opponent wasn’t prepared for the act.
Once they were, the action would usually not be worth it.
Despite this, the benefit still remained. Due to wariness, the opponent had to allocate their manpower to defend their supply lines.
They couldn’t possibly risk having their resources snatched again, and it was precisely that psychological mindset that Carmen was aiming for.
’Razor Nightmare wasn’t a Super Guild for show.’ Carmen sighed inwardly. The element of surprise was utilized, and it worked wonders. They were able to breach multiple defense lines and even destroyed a few of their weapons.
Unfortunately, the Great Roc Town remained strong.
The number of casualties they sustained might not be high, but that was only because they had to shift their focus from offense to defense.
At a glance, the battlefield was currently a stalemate. But that stalemate wouldn’t remain for long.
"Sky, tell the rest to continue for about 5 more minutes. Once the time limit is up, we shall retreat." Carmen instructed Sweet Sky.
"Eh?" Startled, Sweet Sky’s eyes widened. "We’re not going to keep fighting?"
In her mind, they had expended quite a lot of resources. A retreat was something that didn’t cross her mind.
After all, they weren’t in a losing position despite being outnumbered.
"Just do as I say." Carmen made her tone a bit more authoritative.
Unlike Sweet Sky’s naive mindset, she knew very well that it wouldn’t be easy to take down Great Roc Town in a single battle.
This was a guild war!
And war never ends in one instance of battle.
It was always through a series of battles that spanned across the area.
Tactical retreat would be the correct terminology here.
’Wasting their time by forcing them to allocate manpower and then hitting another place. Let’s give them no breathing time.’ Carmen smirked. She purposely called for a retreat because there was a stream in progress.
"How’s the stream so far?" She turned to Lucy and asked.
Lucy was an Elite Member under the Media Division. She was a talented broadcaster but ended up resigning when her previous company became too toxic.
Not only toxic but full of nepotism and bias.
"We are garnering around 50,000 live viewers." Lucy glanced at the stream and reported.
"Hoh, there are that many?" At this moment, Carmen finally took the time to look at the camera.
As soon as she made eye contact with the camera, the chat immediately exploded.
Swoosh!
Besides the comment section, even the donation channel exploded hard.
Every few seconds, a castle was being gifted.
Of course, not all the comments that were associated with the donations were family-friendly.
"Turn off the sound." Carmen coolly said.
Imagine asking her to step on their face.
Just how degenerated were these people?
Sometime later, the stream was paused and had advertisements played out.
Needless to say, the advertisement was basically the latest short drama produced by Vanguard Entertainment Group.
Since the advertisements were equivalent to broadcasting hints of future episodes, no viewers minded the long advertisement.
Any viewers who watched the Vanguard Stream were mostly fans of the short drama produced by them too.
With the stream paused, Carmen’s expression gradually changed.
"Have the members begin to retreat and head toward the Mining Area." She instructed.
The Mining Area was essentially a place where vast amounts of mine caves were located.
These mine caves were very valuable to players because certain materials that were required to upgrade their gear or items could only be sourced from there. It was also one of the main factors why powerful guilds always had stronger players than others.
With such a strong stream of raw materials delivered to them daily to upgrade their gear, they were bound to have higher attributes than the rest.
If a comparison had to be made, some would actually claim that the Mine Caves were more precious than a Town.
A town could always be relocated or repaired, but a mine cave couldn’t.
The Arcane Vein that the Vanguard Guild controlled was also categorized as a Mine Cave.
Thanks to that ownership, the Vanguard Guild was held in high regard by the nobles and even maintained their supply chain despite numerous sanctions.
"I understand." Lucy nodded her head and relayed the command.
’Now I wonder how many tears Razor Nightmare will cry.’ Carmen mused inwardly.
From the beginning, their goal was never the Great Roc Town. Although it would be great if they could take it down, just making it suffer a heavy loss wasn’t bad either.
Her objective here was to create a false delusion that they were intent on taking over Great Roc Town and forcing them to transfer their high combatants over.
Once that was done, the defense in their mine caves would decrease.
And that would be Carmen’s main objective: to destroy their mine cave.
Some might even wonder or question if that action would entice public anger.
After all, mine caves produced some unique material that couldn’t be sourced elsewhere.
But unfortunately for Razor Nightmare, Carmen had done her research, and those supposedly unique materials could be found in the Arcane Vein.
In other words, Carmen wasn’t destroying scarce materials, but merely eliminating competition.
’Sanction us, right? Let’s see how you can still continue to sanction us when you lack the materials yourself and need to come begging us for them.’ She found herself laughing wildly when these arrogant people came kneeling in front of them.
"Commander, all members have returned," Lucy reported at this moment.
"Good!" Carmen clasped her hands and opened her Void Portal.
"It’s time to really teach them a hard lesson."
