Chapter 617: Chapter 615: President Xue, Please Protect Me
Su Guoqiang’s face changed drastically, his eyes brimming with disbelief. His voice trembled slightly with shock. "What? You... you gave the investment fund to Su Jianqiang!"
Indescribable and complex emotions churned within him. He simply couldn’t accept this sudden turn of events. Young Master Wang’s decision had undoubtedly dropped a boulder into his calm lake, sending ripples spreading in every direction.
"But... Young Master Wang, Su Jianqiang has already resigned from our company," Su Guoqiang said, trying desperately to keep his tone even in a final plea.
"I don’t care," Wang Doudou replied. "As for the investment, between you and your brother, I’m only giving it to one of you. Since I’ve already given it to Su Jianqiang, I most certainly won’t be giving it to you. If you have a problem with that, the two of you can discuss it among yourselves."
With that, Wang Doudou hung up without hesitation.
"Young Master Wang..."
The only response was the cold, flat dial tone.
Su Guoqiang stood frozen, speechless for a long moment. Then, he quickly snapped back to his senses, his fingertips dancing swiftly across his phone as he dialed Su Jianqiang’s number.
The moment the call connected, his voice was thick with barely concealed severity and urgency. "Su Jianqiang, what exactly did you say to Young Master Wang?"
On the other end of the line, Su Jianqiang tensed instinctively upon hearing his brother’s familiar, questioning tone, feeling as if an invisible hand had suddenly clenched around his heart. He unconsciously raised a hand to brush his nose, a subtle movement to hide the turmoil and unease brewing inside him.
"Big Brother, I’m a bit confused by your words," Su Jianqiang said, feigning composure with a tone of puzzlement and innocence. "I really don’t understand what you’re implying."
However, Su Guoqiang’s anger erupted like a volcano. His voice, now extremely stern and disappointed, crackled over the phone. "You don’t understand? Fine, I’ll make you understand! Young Master Wang promised to invest in Qiangsheng, but he suddenly changed his mind and said he gave the money to you!
"Su Jianqiang, you knew perfectly well how critical this funding is to Qiangsheng’s very survival, yet you went and snatched it from behind my back!
"I’ve cared for you since we were children and never once wronged you. And you do this to me, just over the small matter of leaving Qiangsheng?
"Su Jianqiang, you have truly broken my heart. You’re nothing but an ungrateful wolf!"
Each of Su Guoqiang’s words hammered down on Su Jianqiang’s heart. He, too, had never imagined that Young Master Wang would choose to invest in only one of them. As the former sales manager of Qiangsheng Printing Factory, Su Jianqiang was fully aware of what this investment meant for Qiangsheng at this pivotal moment—it was a precious opportunity to turn disaster into safety and rebuild.
But an arrow, once fired, cannot be recalled. He couldn’t turn back now. He had no choice but to follow Young Master Wang’s plan; otherwise, all his efforts would be for nothing.
He took a deep breath, striving to make his voice sound firm and sincere. "Big Brother, I know what I did wasn’t right, but I promise you, once I use this investment to generate a substantial return, I will compensate Qiangsheng many times over—perhaps enough to be worth ten companies like it."
Su Guoqiang’s response, however, was urgent and left no room for argument. "Su Jianqiang, wake up! This isn’t a game! Go to Young Master Wang right now and make things clear. That investment money has to come to Qiangsheng! I can forgive what you’ve done, but only if you fix this. Otherwise, I will no longer consider you my brother."
"Big Brother, I’m sorry, but this is something I have to do. When the time comes, you’ll see me in a new light," Su Jianqiang said with a hint of resolve and confidence in his voice. With that, he hung up without hesitation, leaving only the dull dial tone on the other end.
Su Guoqiang clutched his phone, his brother’s determined words echoing in his ears. His heart was a tumultuous mix of emotions. He stood there alone, his figure appearing exceptionally lonely, as if the sudden turn of events had drained him of all strength. Everything around him became blurry and distant, leaving only the complex feelings that surged like an unstoppable tide within him.
Su Jianqiang, what exactly are you trying to do?
A strong, indescribable sense of unease welled up in Su Guoqiang’s heart, like dark clouds blotting out the sun. However, this unease didn’t last long. He quickly cast aside his lingering attachment to their family bond.
If Su Jianqiang doesn’t care about their bond as brothers, then... he doesn’t need to acknowledge him as a brother anymore.
Qiangsheng, the company he had poured his entire life into, was now teetering on the brink of collapse, standing on the edge of life and death.
He couldn’t just stand by and watch the foundation he built with his own hands be destroyed.
At this thought, Su Guoqiang’s eyes grew exceptionally determined. He took a deep breath, picked up his phone again, and his fingers expertly swiped across the screen, dialing a crucial number.
Whether Qiangsheng could survive this crisis now depended entirely on this person.
After a moment, the call connected, and Su Guoqiang’s voice carried a barely noticeable hint of relief. "President Xue, hello, this is Su Guoqiang."
Xue Yang’s voice came from the other end, succinct and direct. "President Su, what can I do for you?"
Su Guoqiang took a deep breath and said earnestly, "President Xue, I am deeply sorry about what happened a few days ago. I sincerely apologize."
However, Xue Yang’s voice remained cold. "Su Guoqiang, if you’re calling to reminisce, then I’m afraid we have nothing to discuss."
Su Guoqiang quickly got to the point, his tone revealing unprecedented urgency and sincerity. "Xue Yang, to be honest, Qiangsheng is currently facing a critical cash flow crisis. The situation is extremely perilous. I’m begging you to lend a hand and help us through this difficult time. In return, I am willing to transfer Qiangsheng to you at a low price, as long as you can save it from being destroyed under my watch. From this day forward, I, Su Guoqiang, will serve you with all my might."
Upon hearing this, Xue Yang seemed moved by Su Guoqiang’s sincerity, and his tone softened slightly. "A low price? That does sound rather tempting."
His plans had always been kept confidential, never easily revealed. After all, in this business, who could guarantee that no one would get greedy and try to steal them?
The subtle change in Xue Yang’s words gave Su Guoqiang a glimmer of hope. He quickly and earnestly replied, "President Xue, every word I say is from the heart. If you can help Qiangsheng get through this, you will be my greatest benefactor. I will prepare the contract immediately and bring it to you personally. I only hope you’ll agree."
Xue Yang considered this for a moment before finally relenting. "Alright. I’m at the Yonghui Supermarket right now. If you’re serious, come and find me here."
Hearing this, Su Guoqiang felt a great weight lift from his shoulders. He eagerly responded, "Yes, President Xue. I’m leaving now. I’ll be there shortly."
