Retired: Nice Guy. HAREM SYSTEM UNLOCKED
Chapter 56. Yes, mommy~
Chapter 56: 56. Yes, mommy~
"You know what my grand plan is?"
Saelith leaned down to reach my ear, her sugar-sweet scent flirting with my hormones, her breathing uneven in a power-hungry way.
"I want to rule this nation, and make humans and elves both pay for my suffering!"
A chill ran down my spine, and I felt a void growing inside me. My body moved forward on its own, and I tripped from the sudden motion.
She’s even crazier than Mandrisska! It’s not like I have any business in her grudges. Do I have to get involved? No, she’s talking about ruling over humans as well.
"Ahm, I don’t think–"
"Just kidding~"
She giggled, then held her stomach and burst into laughter, leaving me both confused and scared.
"You’re so cute. I’m well aware of all the rumors going around about me. And I thought I’d take advantage of them."
Turning around, she laughed to her heart’s content. Once she’d calmed down, I tried to match her and did a terrible job. And honestly, she has humor, my kind of humor.
The universe is telling me we’ll be a perfect couple.
"Then what exactly is your end game?"
Saelith stopped, bringing a stool to sit behind me. Then she took a bath mug with dregs of water, about half a finger high, and poured a few big drops of the butterfly shampoo in to make a concoction.
"You see, when I was born into the elf tribe, people looked at me as if I was filth. I never got any friends, because all the adults didn’t allow their children to play with me. I wasn’t welcomed at any function or festival."
"For being half human..."
I asked and instantly regretted it. Saelith’s movement stopped, remembering her past, with details she’d have trouble explaining.
"Yes. But I wasn’t the only one who went through all this. She must have suffered more than me. My mother. She fell in love with a human, the same species they saw as devils."
She sniffled and poured the shampoo concoction onto my wet hair. The smell was like soil after fresh rain mixed with sweet nectar underneath.
"Unlike me, my mother, Ilvaeth Mor, was treated even worse. She was the second princess of the tribe leader’s family, but even her family didn’t take her back after they found out. I suspect they killed my father too. I can’t imagine what she’s been through."
She continued while rubbing my scalp neatly. Her fingers gave a massage-like feeling while the foam of the shampoo grew with each rub.
"Still, she chose to raise me in that tribe. Being a mother, father, teacher, and friend when I lacked one. She fulfilled every role, even when her sickness got worse than she could tolerate. So I never felt that lonely. She was my everything, my whole world."
Saelith stopped rubbing my scalp and poured a bucket of water over my head. The shampoo foam ran down the drain with the water.
"We managed to live a happy life, without anyone, for a few years. But my mother’s sickness was getting worse day by day. No one was there to help us, and I was just a child."
I was going to stand up and look at her so I could read her better, but she kept me in place, then used Weaver-Spider Silk Conditioner on my hair.
A sharp breath caught her as she began to cry, but she didn’t let herself fully submit to the emotion, which made her look even sadder.
"Then they blamed me for it. They said I was the reason behind her pain. Without me, she would have lived a normal life. And at that moment, I... accepted it."
My subconscious told me to hug Saelith and let her cry before she continued, but her hands tightened on my shoulders. She rested her head on mine.
"Just listen, okay? I don’t want you to see me crying..."
I bit my tongue and stayed silent. Why wouldn’t she let me? I know I’m new to her, but I still just wanted to comfort her. She’s really a normal girl, hiding behind all that elegance.
"They said the medicine my mother needed could only be made with rare ingredients from outside the tribe’s wall. Since no one was willing to help, I thought I could get those ingredients."
"But it was a trap. I don’t even know if they told the truth about my mother or the medicine. Shortly after I left my tribe, they attacked me, they wanted me dead."
My body was still as water, absorbing everything she said and living through her emotions. I stared at the tile until it blurred. I stayed quiet, since interrupting would break her.
"I had no choice but to run. I was being chased, hunted like a wild boar in the crop fields. Then, by some miracle, I found a cave in the forest. That cave was where my parents met for the first time. I’d pieced that much together from my mother’s stories."
Water dripped from my chin. I didn’t wipe it. Her crying grew, though somehow quietly, and after steadying her breathing, she continued.
"They followed me into the cave as well. To survive, I went deeper into the cave. My mother had told me it has a portal to the human realm, so I searched for it. I had my own fears about going through. But I looked back and saw the weapons they had in hand..."
Saelith’s nails pressed into my skin as she could no longer continue. Her tears teased my back, they knew what she wanted more than she did.
"So you want a stronger mate to go up against your tribe and get your mother back, right?"
I turned around, and she quickly wiped her tears, forcing her red-rimmed eyes to settle. Fixing her posture.
"More specifically, I need a team. I only said I wanted a stronger mate because I thought it would motivate you in some way."
I recalled it, and the puzzle pieces fit perfectly. She’s a smart one, and her using herself as the prize definitely did the trick on me.
"But like I said, I won’t go back on my promise. I just want your word that if you help me save my mother, I’ll be your wife."
I thought about it, not knowing why I did. The Nectarfall, the realm where the elves currently live. How bad could it be?
"I’m not saying you have to play my wife. I do want genuine affection from you."
"I will! I mean, you’re someone I can fall in love with. I said it before, I do want other qualities in my mate."
Saelith pulled her towel up, covering herself, suddenly shy. Those words sparked an ember of love inside me.
"If that’s what my future wife says, I’ll help you save your mother, as a partner and as a human being. It’s not any contract, just love."
The last part slipped out accidentally, then I remembered humans are devils in the elves’ book. It made the sentence sound sarcastic? But Saelith doesn’t see humans as devils, so who cares.
"Thank you..."
She pulled me into a hug with happy tears, stuffing my face into her boobs, reminding me of how we first met, which was like 3 days ago.
The same bath towel she uses to dry her body every single day was against my lips, holding her boobies. Softness so great even writers can’t describe it.
This is not heaven, this is something divine.
? That’s not fair, Mark. She gets sugar-coated words and I get none? Where’s my "It’s not any contract, just love"? Jerk! ?
I don’t know what Lilathea is talking about. Does she have to talk when I’m in no condition to reply? Just let me feel my divine wife for once.
"Oh, I forgot. I should wash your hair again. Don’t want the conditioner to drying up."
"Yes, mommy~"
"What?"
"Nothing."
After that, Saelith washed my hair and rubbed the dirt and dust off me. I didn’t feel awkward, but I did find the moment odd. She was humming and smiling the entire time. Of course, she didn’t go near my private parts, I cleaned those in private.
"Can you go into the hot tub? I’ll join you after I clean myself and... please don’t look. I know what you want, but be patient."
Saelith blushed, her pointed ears pressing back as she played with her hair. How was I supposed to say no?
"Okay! I won’t take a peek."
Then I respectfully stepped into the hot tub. The steaming water was just what I needed after the toughest day of my life. My body, which had pushed past its limit, could finally relax.
The hot water surrounding my body was pulling me into a greedy sleep, but then I told myself:
Saelith is going to be in my arms in a few minutes. And I laughed in horniness.
More importantly, I’d earned 2,990 Casllay mana points in about 50 minutes. This is getting ridiculous.
But afterward I could spend my life in peace, at least for a while. No more disgusting bugs or threats to overcome.
