Chapter 1130: Chapter 1102: Feeling Heartbroken for Him

Qian put away the wooden comb and went to the wine cabinet to hide the Maotai she had just placed inside, making sure to tuck away anything that might evoke Yu Minglang’s longing for Balan.

After finishing this, Qian sat down, closed her eyes, and started contemplating how to use her expertise to help Yu Minglang.

Initially, her mind was a mess, filled with thoughts about Yu Minglang’s current feelings; the more she thought, the more painful and chaotic her thoughts became, eventually leading to tears.

She couldn’t calm down at all.

The unusual atmosphere of the couple also affected the Beauty. Yu Minglang remained shut in his room, while Qian sat at the window silently shedding tears. The Beauty felt this abnormal mood, came over, and tried to lick Qian’s tears.

"Come on, Beauty, I’ll take you to get breakfast."

Qian wiped her tears away; she feared that her current emotions might affect Yu Minglang. He was already disturbed by his own issues, and her hopeless crying would be of no help to him.

Taking the Beauty out, she bought breakfast but did not rush home; instead, she took Beauty to a secluded corner of the courtyard where they sat on a bench as the morning bugle call sounded, causing tears to fall.

She could only vent her emotions when no one was around; she had to release them to return as his mental support.

At first, Beauty silently accompanied Qian, and seeing her still so sad after a while, it nudged her with its head.

Qian had not liked Beauty before, but at this moment, she understood why working dogs are described as silent friends. She hugged Beauty and sighed sadly.

"What to do, Green Tea Beauty, I’m really worried about him. I’m afraid I can’t save him. I can treat anyone with objectivity and fairness, but with him, I can’t. What do I do? I truly feel for him."

Beauty let out a soft whimper as if comforting Qian’s emotions.

Unable to proceed with subjective fairness meant no further help could be provided; Qian vented all her emotions to Beauty outside, seeming much calmer upon returning home.

From this moment on, Qian no longer disliked Beauty; gradually, Beauty also liked Qian. But those are stories for later; now, both their thoughts were focused on Yu Minglang. Even though outsiders saw him as no different than usual, both Qian and Beauty could sense his emitted sadness, hidden beneath the normal facade, unable to be spoken—the most painful thing.

He had only breakfast at home before heading to the company, returning within the morning.

Qian didn’t go to school either; having breakfast, she took a brief nap and, feeling better, began studying how she could help Yu Minglang heal from this psychological trauma.

Her research hadn’t reached a conclusion when the door opened, and Yu Minglang entered, expressionless.

Out of reflex, Qian glanced at the time—it was just half past eleven, not yet time for lunch. Why would he come back at this time? Could something have happened?!

Unlike his usual cheerful greetings when returning home, today Yu Minglang didn’t seem to notice Qian upon entering, nor did he acknowledge Beauty, who eagerly brought him slippers, as he headed straight to the small bedroom without a word.

Qian immediately stood up and followed him inside.

His state was so unusual that it filled Qian with concern.

Once inside the small room, Yu Minglang rummaged through the drawers and cabinets until he found the pearl necklace he had recently repaired in Qian’s jewelry box. With a firm grip, he broke the freshly repaired thread and then picked it up again, restringing the beads skillfully, with fingers as nimble as before.

He tossed the necklace aside and continued rummaging through boxes, making a mess.

"What are you looking for?" Qian couldn’t help but ask.

"Is there a toy gun Panpan left at home?"

Qian nodded, entered the master bedroom, and took out a toy gun that fired plastic pellets from her bag, handing it to him.

This was left by Panpan during his last visit; Qian had intended to pack it for her nephew but got delayed due to Yu Minglang’s incident.

Yu Minglang examined the toy gun, checked the plastic pellets, and placed a mineral water bottle on the table.

He wanted to shoot at the water bottle; though the toy gun’s aim wasn’t as accurate as a real one, Panpan’s toy was quite precise.

The last time Panpan visited, Yu Minglang used this toy gun to shoot flies with unsurpassed accuracy, amusing Panpan.

But now, upon receiving the toy gun, Yu Minglang’s complexion turned pale, his hand trembled slightly, and he felt palpitations, nausea, and dizziness. Reluctantly determined, he tried to aim, but his fingers moved uncontrollably before he could even raise the toy properly.

"Put it down!" Qian noticed his abnormal behavior and quickly seized the gun from him.

Once the gun was put down, all abnormal reactions disappeared.

"Am I just too tired?" After a long while, he spoke to Qian.

His tone was mild, as if it was a minor matter, but Qian thought he must be using all his strength to restrain his sorrow.

Even a toy gun caused such a reaction, let alone a real gun.

Qian paused, her voice deep.

"Actually, you’ve already left the old unit, so it’s okay if you don’t handle a gun. After all, we’re official businesspeople now, and there won’t be any chance to handle these things in the future."

It was like pronouncing Yu Minglang’s death sentence; Qian would never forget the expression he had when hearing those words.

His gaze was so sorrowful, like he lost the whole world, yet his lips maintained an upward curve.

"Yeah, it’s no big deal; I’m fine, you go ahead."

He turned to leave, but Qian stepped forward, embracing his waist from behind, "Tell me if you’re sad, I’m always here, and I’ll always be with you."

Without turning around, he put his hand on hers. "I’m fine, really fine, don’t worry."

Already at this stage, he was still comforting her; Qian turned him around, facing his composed facade, cutting to the heart.

"If you feel bad, you can let your emotions out; crying would be better than bottling it all up."

Men only shed tears at true sadness; for Yu Minglang, the gun was not merely a tool, it held too much of his effort.

Born into the rich Fugui family, as a child, he couldn’t escape his grandfather’s halo, and as he grew up, he was enveloped in his father’s glory. Unlike his elder brother, who chose another path to see his self-worth, he cherished the old unit’s strong green, eager to prove himself with extraordinary effort and ability, to erase the mark of his family etched onto him.

Yu Minglang’s path to where he is today is directly related to his unbelievable marksmanship. Initially, his shooting talent brought him to the old unit, and later, his other talents were discovered.

Now standing on the cloud, he finds the staircase that carried him has disappeared. To him, it must be heartbreakingly painful, yet his abnormal reaction brought Qian great concern.

Though Yu Minglang wouldn’t have many chances to use this in the future, not using it and being unable to use it are different concepts. From a psychological perspective, if this issue isn’t handled well, his heart could bear an unrepaired scar, leading to serious consequences later on.
